Return the item and buy it cheaper on Amazon. Why in god's name do people shop anywhere else????

You are going high and low in the wrong categories.

CPU - Solid Choice you cannot go wrong here. However alienus had a great point with getting an i5 instead. Depending on what you are doing.

CPU Cooler - Also a solid choice a great midrange option for cpu cooling in an age where it is not nearly as necessary as before. With all new components taking less energy to power and there for running cooler.

Motherboard - overkill. It is not a bad choice if money is not an option. However you and 90% of the people that browse this reddit will never get even half of what that mobo provides. Look at something like this http://pcpartpicker.com/product/6JfmP6/asrock-motherboard-z170mextreme4.

Memory - You have a solid choice with memory it is really hard to mess it up. However make sure you check all your options and reviews because there are some brands/kits that do not perform up to expectation.

Storage - Ask yourself what you need the storage for. Do you really need 3.5 terabytes of space? Great choice on the samsung 850. However seagate is utter trash when it comes to anything hard drive related. If you are going for an upper echelon build take a look at getting a 256 gig m.2 ssd and like a 1 terrabyte ssd it will come out to roughly the same cost and you will have quicker storage access. The only reason i can see in getting a 3 terabyte hdd is if you are a hoarder of media and pretty much want to store everything on your hdd. My recommendation is the m.2 and evo combination for now and eventually if you really need to add more storage buy more/larger ssds because the cost per gig is only going down.

Case - A case is a case is a case. I say that in jest. It is arguably the most important part of your build. It is going to contain all your hopes and dreams in computer spots and it is responsible for keeping air going through and your parts from getting damaged. That being said you picked a solid choice for a case. Just make sure you read and watch reviews on cases. Make sure they have good cable management, proper air flow, and still have the aesthetics that you want. Because lets face it you have to look at that thing for as long as you have it.

PSU - Good choice i think you can get the evga platinum 650 for the same price. either way. PSU's are pretty easy.

Keyboard - Cannot go wrong with a corsair keyboard. i am grabbing the k95 for my new build but the k70 does all the same stuff.

Mouse - The mouse is important because there are arguable 3 different grip styles and so many styles of mice. Just try to get a feel for the different mice. I haven't used the zowie but i hear good things.

Graphic's card - take the 150 dollars or so you save on a mother and apply it to a 1080. if you want to skimp on the gfx card go with the x480 that everyone is talking about its half the cost and it will allow you to play arguably anything at max settings.

Monitor - There are cheaper options out there for monitors that will get you the desired performance traits. https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00GWFNMJS/ref=oh_aui_search_detailpage?ie=UTF8&psc=1 100 dollars cheaper. Again its all about what you are trying to do. 144hz for most games is not necessary so you can go even cheaper with higher resolution if you want.

Headset- I can tell you from experience that the sennheiser g4me zero headset is garbage. It has great sound but it's mic quality leaves some to be desired. go with a https://www.amazon.com/HyperX-Revolver-Headset-HX-HSCR-BK-NA/dp/B01CIEBU54/ref=sr_1_1?s=pc&ie=UTF8&qid=1465771174&sr=1-1&keywords=hyperx+cloud+revolver or even the cloud II the sound and quality are amazing for the cost.

Anyways i am not the all knowing of computer's and their parts Your build is solid and you will be happy with it . I just think with some fine tuning you can get even more out of it.

-Also think about buying a 2nd cheaper 27 inch monitor for like 100 dollars. Playing a game and having some videos, music, streams open on the other monitor is pretty amazing.

-Again i am going to touch on the HDD If you are going to spend 120 dollars on a HDD do not spend it on seagate trash.

my 2 cents.

Any gaming headset will do. What's your budget?

Kingston makes some really nice headsets that aren't too expensive that sound fantastic. Check out the Kingston HyperX Cloud ($76), HyperX Cloud II ($95) and the HyperX Cloud Revolver ($120).

Currently I'm using the Sennheiser Game Zero and love them but they're at $190 and a little pricey.

u/powersurge360 · 3 pointsr/xboxone

Don't get the S model. The S comes with a surround sound dongle that is worthless imo. It totally destroys the surround sound and, as this post alludes to, you can't use a USB sound card on xbox one anyways. The revolver is the same model but doesn't have the dongle and I think it's also missing a couple of plastic pieces meant to cut down on the metal reverberation.

However, for around the same price point, consider the HD 598 SR which is a much better headphone and also has a mic. Looks like the price is high atm but it comes down to around $130 if you don't mind waiting.

If you want a better headphone than the hyperx revolver but don't want to pay for/wait for the HD 598, the SHP9500s are a good set and you can combine em with a boom pro to get the microphone functionality. This will be better sound quality both in the mic and the headphones and will be about the same price as the revolver based on current amazon prices.

That's not to say the revolver is bad though. Note too that the two I recommended are less bass heavy and more focused on mids & treble so may be less 'fun'.

From what I can tell on CamelCamelCamel it seems to be a historic low at least on Amazon.

u/shugo2000 · 2 pointsr/FortNiteBR

I personally use the HyperX Cloud Revolver headset. I've had it for a few years, but it's held up much better than cheaper headsets that I've owned.

u/Shamrock013 · 1 pointr/xboxone

Well, that's the thing... I'm using this headset with an adapter that goes from mic/headphones to one plug. Works perfectly.

And honestly, my main concern is that I'm not causing static explosions to other players. I know how annoying it can be if I'm sitting there trying to play and someone else's mic causes a static disruption in the atmosphere. I would rather not have that happen.... well, that and I don't want my brand new equipment to be faulty already.

The HyperX Cloud II that I use is this one with 7.1 USB connectivity for both PC and Mac!:

https://www.amazon.com/HyperX-Cloud-Gaming-Headset-PS4/dp/B00SAYCXWG/

Note that the 7.1 only works on PC/Mac.

The licensed Xbox One version of it is this (only difference is it includes the case, has a inline audio controls, but looses 7.1 support PC/MAC)

https://www.amazon.com/HyperX-CloudX-Headset-HX-HSCX-SR-NA/dp/B01HHBYS8E/

This is the latest model, HyperX Cloud Revolver ($120 though)

https://www.amazon.com/HyperX-Revolver-Headset-HX-HSCR-BK-NA/dp/B01CIEBU54/

I heard that it has a frame noise issue, but is slightly easier to put on. The great sound is still there, but not better. Personally, I went with the cheaper Cloud II.

I would shop around though as you might find it cheaper elsewhere.

u/Onlyusemeusername · 1 pointr/hardwareswap

I have a speaker out of a google home mini, a bottle of liquid ass, the mic out of a hyperx cloud revolver, some flex seal and flex tape, a battery out of a galaxy s5, some banana plugs, a displayport to VGA adapter, and a coolermaster masterliquid 240, all of whichI no longer want.

u/ompareal · 1 pointr/xboxone

Requires the stereo adapter: https://www.amazon.com/HyperX-Cloud-Gaming-Headset-PS4/dp/B00SAYCXWG/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1481251738&sr=8-1&keywords=hyperx+cloud+2

Be aware they're closed ear which means outside noises are surpressed (I hate this) unfortunately your options with console are limited because harder to drive headphones will probably sound awful.

edit: https://www.amazon.com/HyperX-Revolver-Headset-HX-HSCR-BK-NA/dp/B01CIEBU54/ref=cm_cd_al_qh_dp_t

I believe those are open ear - I'd go for those if you could.

u/str8_out_of · 1 pointr/xboxone

Hyperx revolvers. I have owned ones that cost twice as much hands down the revolvers are way better, comfort audio, and quality.

My birthday is coming up and my parents asked me what I would like. Since I need a new gaming/music headset anyway:

  • HyperX Cloud II or

  • HyperX Cloud Revolver

I've read good things about both but get some conflicting reviews when looking on Amazon vs. Newegg. It sounds like the Cloud Revolver is solidly constructed and sounds good but it doesn't appear to have a USB plugin (is this a problem?). The Cloud II does have a USB plugin. My current headset is wireless via a dongle, but all other wired headsets I've used have been through the audio jack so I'm not sure what the difference between USB input vs. audio jack input is. Those two are probably my top choices but I also looked at the regular Cloud and the Cloud Stinger. One last thing: I love my music but I've never had a true audiophile headset/headphones so I'm just looking for something that sounds pretty good without a fantastic soundcard, etc.
u/alecbenzer · 1 pointr/buildapc

There's also the Revolver. I think most of the hyperx stuff is quality.

u/Purple_Haze108 · 1 pointr/xboxone

I'm in your exact situation lol. After doing a bunch of research and deciding I didn't want to fuss with headphones and a mic, I ended up getting these:

HyperX Cloud Revolver Gaming Headset is the one I use for my lenovo explorer and it's a perfect fit with great mic and sound quality. While the link is to Amazon, I got mine refurbished from hyper x on ebay for half the price ($50).

I was looking at the chart near the bottom and it seems that the Cloud II has more features and cost less. Is there a reason why the Revolver is more expensive?

If you want an audiophile grade open back headphones you can get the phillips shp9500 with a vmoda boom pro(replaces the 3.5mm cable from the phillips with a 3.5mm cable with a mic attached to it that actually works really good ive personally have used the vmoda boom pro, and these also dont have much bass since they are open back but will give you a good soundstage and a more flat overall sound which is great)

That may be, I have Hyper X Cloud Revolvers. I'm not sure if the quality of the CloudX's are dumbed down because they're made for the Xbox but they look pretty similar to the Hyper X Cloud 2(it turns out they did check these out ). My Revolvers have the most similar sound quality to my Audio Technicas.

u/BearDidIt · 0 pointsr/pcmasterrace

Sennheiser GAME ONE Black $130 - back ordered 2-4 weeks

Sennheiser GAME ONE White $150

Kingston HyperX Cloud II - $98

Kingston HyperX Revolver - $108

Astro A40 - $150

Of those I'm partial to the Sennheiser GAME ONE's, and the Astro A40. I've used exclusively Sennheiser headphones for the last 7 years and have loved them. The GAME ONE's are open back though so you will get a little less bass but a more open sounding sound stage. The Sennheisers are also far better for music than anything from Kingston, Razer, Logitech, or SteelSeries. Also in my experience, Sennheiser headphones are always quite comfortable. The mic quality is also very good on the GAME ONE.

The Astro A40's are just really good all around. Good sound quality, good mic quality, good overall build quality. Very solid option around the $150 range.

If it were me buying it, I would go with the Sennheiser GAME ONE, my second choice would definitely be the Astro A40's though. The SteelSeries Siberia 350 hasn't been getting the best reviews from actual users. I don't put as much stock into professional reviews because they never account for longevity of the device and are based more on technical specs than actual real world use.

It really depends on what your priorities are though. If you're concerned more with the sound quality, the Sennheisers or Astro A40's are the way to go. If you're more interested in extra features, some of the other brands like Corsair, Logitech, and SteelSeries will have some other features (like RGB lighting for example).
