I have been using this for about a month, if you are open to indie skin care. It is wonderful and the consistency is like a light gel. I have noticed an improvement for sure.

InstaNaturals Niacinamide lotion is really well reviewed. I just ordered some but I got a huge breakout so I'm trying to nurse that before I try using it.

Paula's Choice Skin-Balancing Pore-Reducing Toner. Another one that is well-regarded, I have a bottle that I haven't been able to use yet for the same reason as above. Can you tell I'm a bit of a skincare hoarder?? x)

Also EltaMD Clear is a great sunscreen that has niacinamide, if you're also in the market for sunscreen.

I saw this product here, in another post about PIH. I have the same PIH problems that you do, due to my lovely Indian coloring. Adding this into my arsenal (retin-A, sunscreen) has helped over the last month. I'm anxious to see what it looks like in another couple of months, as well. I'm also thinking of adding a Vit C serum, once I work out what point to insert into my routine.

I found a less potent but still super effective one on amazon. It’s only 5% and 1% but it has aloe and HA added in. I really fucking love it, honestly. It helped toughen up my skin to use the TO! I think it was pretty inexpensive let me get the link.

It shouldn’t burn though. None of that shit is worth being in pain 😭

Should I stay away from products that say brightening and/or lightening? I've been considering buying this, but the 'lightening' in the title is throwing me off.

Definitely have a look at /r/SkincareAddiction in the sidebar about PIH.

In short:

Red marks can be faded over time, that is PIH. You will have to take some time to find what works best for you, but many people find daily application of an AHA (example), or retinoids (example), or niacinamide (example) expedites the fading process.

For thick scars, I believe the same treatment can help improve the appearance, but don't expect it to completely go away. A dermatologist is likely to provide more help than OTC things.

Good luck!

I use this everyday. It's my HG. I've been using it for over a year, I've changed cleansers, toners, exfoliants, and lotions but never this. It made such a change in my skin I cannot go without it.

I finished this 2 ounce niacinamide serum:

Niacinamide Vitamin B3 5% Serum - HUGE 2 OZ - Anti-Aging; Diminishes the Appearance of Acne, Dark Spots & Hyper Pigmentation - Lightens, Hydrates And Plumps Skin - Guaranteed Results https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00J5N0Y4U/ref=cm_sw_r_awd_5joLub05PMGQT

Between this and starting Pocketderm, my skin's looking excellent. I bought a different serum (cheaper and also has vitamin c) to replace it.

I don't know that I've ever finished a serum bottle.

I almost finished a mini bottle of Josie Maran that I got with points at sephora, but I stated getting a cystic breakout so I think the last like... Eight... Of it is getting tossed. :/ oh well. It feels so nice but I don't want that acne.

No other empties to report. But I'm so close on a bunch of other skin stuff. Not close on much makeup.

Ole Henriksen vitamin C serum is amazing for redness! I also love using Mario Bedescu rose water spray.
I recently bought a vitamin B3 serum to test out (https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00J5N0Y4U/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_ffRKBbKF17SF7) and so far I'm liking it for keeping my skin moisturized & helping with the redness.

I highly recommend any brightening serums if you want to target darkness and redness. For blackheads, I like to use Freeman brand facemasks (very affordable & not harsh on my sensitive skin) once or twice a week - something like a de-stressing clay mask or a skin-calming peel off mask, etc.

[EDIT] My skincare routine currently is:

  1. SheaMoisture rosehip oil cleanser
  2. Mario Bedescu rose water spray
  3. Serum (right now B3 serum - usually the vitamin C serum)
  4. IT Cosmetics confidence in a cream moisturizer

The glycolic acid I'm using is from Alpha Skin Care...it is 10%. I don't use it regularly but trying to use it every other day or so.

The Niacinamide is from Amazon as well. It is insta-natural. I've used another from Skinlex (10%) I believe but it honestly broke me out but this product was much gentler. I pair it with hyaluronic acid from Trader Joes and it is very gentle and moisturizing on my skin. Finish it off with some Argon or Jojoba Oil.

Hi! I found this
[5% Niacinamide serum.] (http://www.amazon.com/InstaNatural-Niacinamide-Face-Serum-Hyperpigmentation/dp/B00J5N0Y4U/ref=pd_sim_194_14?ie=UTF8&dpID=412B7gsJPDL&dpSrc=sims&preST=_AC_UL160_SR160%2C160_&refRID=1W59TKJPZPDK1TZ29CQF) Has anyone tried this? I am aware that many companies provided free or discounts for reviews (which would typically be positive). I am super excited to try it since ive been searching for products with more niacinamide for my redness.

I'm exactly like you. Its been about 10 months since my skin looked like pure shit, this stuff is what ultimately helped me
