I got into Chomsky by reading some of his shorter books first. The first one I read (and still one of my favorites) is called Media Control: The Spectacular Achievements of Propaganda, which is a speech that he gave by the same name. You can probably find the audio for it online for free actually. It really opened my eyes to a lot of new concepts that I had never considered before.
Chomsky's semi-official web site also has tons of articles, interviews, video, audio and book excerpts, so I highly recommend checking that out.
If you want to get an introduction to his linguistic work, check out Introducing Chomsky. There are sections about his political and philosophical writings too, but it's 80% linguistics.
The thing about reading Chomsky is that he hits you with a lot of information at once, including a lot of concepts that you might not have ever heard before. But the more you read it, it will completely open up your view of the world. I have one other book to recommend and it's called Understanding Power. If you start reading Chomsky and like what he has to say, definitely read this one. It completely changed my life. It doesn't answer questions as much as it teaches you how to ask the right questions and find the answers for yourself.
