They sell trays to hold the pads in place, if there are no loose edges she may not eat them.

They also sell washable pads that she may not be as interested in shredding/eating since they are a bit more heavy duty.

That's awesome! And your setup is almost identical to ours. The only difference is our pup started ripping up his pee pads after a few days and would also sometimes pee off the edge. We got a pee pad holder (this one if you ever have the same issue).

To answer your other question, he would usually settle down within 10 minutes. That would be our threshold at which point we would go in and calm him down. We put him to sleep in the pen/crate from the first night we brought him home. Although the first week, we had to go calm him down several times a night. It started with 3-4 visits a night and then got better. I think around 10 weeks he started sleeping through the night (from 10ish til 7), but would still have random nights where he'd wake up around 3-4 am. I would simply go calm him down and he'd go back to sleep. He's 12 weeks old now and hasn't had any night time issues in quite some time.

The first 2 weeks were definitely really brutal but it gets so much easier after that. He's my first dog and I couldn't be happier. Good luck, looks like you're already doing great!

train her to pee on a potty pad holder. my puppy loved to chew potty pads, but this secures them so they can't chew them up. when you are home, pick them up and put them on potty pad holder when you catch them in the act. when they do pee/poop on pad, reward them like crazy.
