First off, this is an interesting topic and not one that is discussed as often as I'd like. So thank you for bringing it to us!
Jesus himself was a rebel and lawbreaker in the name of love and justice for the oppressed.
Christianity has a very long history of martyrs and iconoclasts that went against the norms of their communities and times. And many Christian churches provide spiritual and physical support for many political dissidents and prisoners of conscience.
Some Christian heroes of mine include the following rebels and breakers of the "law":
Dietrich Bonhoeffer, Lutheran pastor who was hanged for opposing the Nazis.
Oscar Romero, Catholic priest who opposed the El Salvadoran regime
John Dear, Catholic peace activist. I had the privilege of hearing him speak and telling stories about climbing over the fence of a Air Force base to beat on the nose cone of a nuclear bomber plane with a hammer. I recommend his book Jesus the Rebel.
Daniel Berrigan, priest who was jailed for protesting the Vietnam War and the military.
There are many more.
