2014 Mustang owner here. A lot of guys with the S197 Mustangs like the Infinity Reference series 6x8s, and the JL Audio C2 series 5x7s for direct drop-in replacements in their front doors. You may want to double check your stock speakers though, since at some point they went from 4 ohm to 2 ohm, and that may influence your decision.

Check out this post for a basic how-to on replacing the speakers. It's a newer model, but it should be very similar.
