My niece is in the same age bracket and I have been having a lot of luck with these kinda chemistry sets I found at Target. They show you how to make your own bath bombs or lipgloss. When I can I try to plan a time where we can do it together and bring some extras we can add to make it our own(other scents or shapes depending on the project). It is kinda difficult because they moved 12 hours away. When I just ship it to her she will usually facetime me or mail me a sample once she does the project with my sister. They usually cost $20-$30 depending on the project.
