Not super embarrassing, but I have always wanted to try these FPS Sticks. Even though I doubt it will help my game skillz.
I have these -> http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B003YI458I on "my" controller. I have big hands and my controller feels comfortable with those things on. No question of which the better controller is or who gets what. Friends get intimidated by the controller I use just because they aren't used to it.

The controlfreek ones are amazing, particularly in FPS.
