Ok, I have 3 options for you, one since your budget is so high and you want something to use for college as well as music and video editing then you can buy a laptop for college from this list of good college laptops since all of them is lightweight and with long battery and very good build quality so you can carry them in your backpack daily and a laptop from this list of gaming laptops under 1000 since it will be powerful enough for your games as well as editing video/music.

Or Since the keyboard is a main concern you can get this Lenovo Thinkpad P50 because
ThinkPads are known for their great battery life, amazing build quality and very good keyboards and it got great enough specs for for your games as well as editing video/music.

Or go with the Dell XPS 15 because it has great combination between great build quality, very good keyboard and battery life, while having great specs and still be portable enough to carry daily from and to campus.

Maybe look into the Lenovo Thinkpad P50 for ~$1600. It has some excellent specs and has been certified as having a TPM 1.2 encryption. It also comes with some high level specs given it's portability with an intel Xeon Quad Core processor, 16gb of ram, 256gb SSD, and Nvidia Quadro M2000 graphics. It's much heavier than competitors at 5.9 lbs, but it probably has the best build quality on the market, and the best keyboard.

An even better option is the much more portable Lenovo Thinkpad T470 for ~$1300. It weighs in at 3.7lbs and has a 14.0'' display. It is also confirmed to have TPM 1.2 encryption, and it has pretty comparable specs other than a dedicated processor. Here is a very detailed review of the T470.

The Asus ROG G751JY you've been looking at is a really solid machine. It is built like a rock, but it also weighs as much as one at 10lbs. I had one similar, an older generation, and I got the model beneath it for my dad. We both loved ours, but they were portable desktops, not something we carry around. That one also has a much older CPU, which is part of why it's so inexpensive.

If you want to carry it around, the Asus ROG GL502VY would be the way to go. It gets good battery life, it's lightweight, and has top of the line Nvidia GTX 980M graphics.

I do wonder what sort of accuracy you're going to need within ArcGIS, though. Is this something that warrants a professional GPU? If so, you may want to lean towards a professional machine like the Lenovo ThinkPad P50.

That would give you a much more durable machine with an incredibly powerful CPU, professional Nvidia Quadro M2000M graphics, the best keyboard on the market, and a great warranty. The only problem with this one is the GPU for gaming. It's not terrible by any means, but it will only perform on the level of an Nvidia GTX 960M, vs the much more powerful 980M in the Asus.

for such intense CAD a quad-core cpu and at least 8gb ram and a decent gpu is needed. how about this 2016 Lenovo Thinkpad P50 it houses a Intel Core i7-6700HQ cpu, 16GB DDR4 RAM, 512GB SSD, , NVIDIA Quadro M1000M gpu, weighs just over 5 pounds and has a decent battery life of 6 hours. or this for more gpu power.

Definitely this Lenovo Thinkpad P50, would be perfect for you based on what you want to do. It has a powerful GHz Intel Xeon quad core processor, decent 16 GB RAM, fast 256GB M.2 SSD and nice NVIDIA Quadro M2000M (4GB)graphics. This will be an excellent machine for Developing etc.. It has a wonderful batery life and very decent build quality.

Why not go with this Lenovo ThinkPad P50 Mobile Workstation ? Far better build quality, better keyboard, and of course, better battery life. This Thinkpad comes with the 6700HQ cpu which when put side to side with the 6820, really there is minimal difference in performance. The thinkpad is cheaper and has 32 GB RAM which is fantastic for a workstation...It also has a much better storage, housing a 512 GB SSD and a 1 TB HDD.... If you feel you would definitely need more processing power and the M200 graphics, then the Lenovo Thinkpad P5 with the Intel Xeon E3-1505M v5 procesor that is even more powerful than the 6820.
