I would recommend this [Lenovo Yoga 730] (https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07CKNCQYX/?tag=bkadamos_alltest-20)
It comes with 8th gen, i5 quad core CPU which is suitable for web surfing and videos.
The case is made from aluminum, feels very premium.
Hinges wobble so it is hard to open with one hand and screen turns 360 degree.
Very lightweight at 2.65 lbs since weight is important to you.
You can upgrade/replace the storage, but not the ram.

There are two USB Type-C ports (both support TB3) and a headphone jack on the left side and a single USB 3.0 Type-A port on the right side.
No HDMI or SD card reader.
Comes with Intel Dual Band Wireless-AC 8265 which is good for day to day usage.

It supports digitizer pen and it has a comfortable grip and two buttons.x

Comes with chiclet keyboard, key travel is quite shallow, the pressure point is not well defined, and the resistance is too small, not nearly as good as the famous Thinkpad keyboard

The trackpad doesn't have dedicated mouse keys, the surface is smooth and supports Microsoft’s Precision.

The touchscreen is able to detect ten fingers at the same time. It detects inputs very precisely.

Screen is glossy, has good Brightness(but you still might struggle under direct sunlight), and good color coverage as well at 61.38% for RGB and 83.92% for sRGB and panel doesn't use PWM for brightness regulation.

CPU throttles under long time of heavy usage, but it still more powerful than most other ultrabooks in the market.

Storage is only NVMe (which makes it expensive if you want to upgrade/replace the SSD installed.

Fan noise and coil whine is minimal and not noticeable.

Heat management is very good, and it doesn't reach the point of being uncomfortable to hold.

Speakers are not very loud and doesn't have much bass but that is to be expected from a 2 in 1.

Battery life is very good at 7.5 to 9 hours with average usage.

Hey,

how about the Lenovo Yoga 730? It is under budget and will be able to satisfy your needs. It has:

  • i5-8250U 4-core processor

  • 8 GB of RAM

  • 256 GB SSD storage

  • 1080p 13.3" touchscreen display

  • Weight of 2.6lbs and battery life up to 11.5 hours

This laptop runs Windows 10 Home. It already has an SSD included, as well as a USB-C Thunderbolt 3 port for uses in the future. The uses you listed will be great for this device, you may appreciate the 2-in-1 ability.

One of the models she suggested was this I think [Lenovo Yoga 730 13 - 13.3" Touch FHD - i5-8250u - 8GB - 256GB SSD - Platinum] (https://www.amazon.com/Lenovo-Yoga-730-13-i5-8250u/dp/B07CKNCQYX)

The Yoga 730 is good enough for what you plan to do. It has average specs as its really meant to be a simple student laptop but its thunderbolt 3 port will allow you to game through for eGPU. This laptop has have some QC issues in the past but their standard have improved recently. Its touch screen is nice to use as it is very responsive and so is its trackpad. Build quality wise its above average but noting too special. Overall it should be a good laptop for what you need it to

advice: you’ll want at least 256gb for windows. trust me, 128gb for a 1440p isn’t worth it. unless you’re doing content creation or watching a shit ton of movies 24/7 on good internet, a 1080p display will treat you fine. with that in mind:

lenovo 730s:
while it doesn’t have a touchscreen, the quad core i7/16GB/512 on this machine will absolutely blow your theoretical machine out of the water in longevity and raw performance. there’s a much cheaper spec with i5/8/256 if you can’t cough up the extra $49. oh, and it only weighs 2.4 with a fingerprint sensor: https://www.amazon.com/Lenovo-Notebook-i7-8565U-Processor-81JB0003US/dp/B07K8PY5H5/ref=mp_s_a_1_3?keywords=730s&qid=1567875384&s=gateway&sr=8-3

if you absolutely need a touchscreen but don’t need the bonus performance, check out the yoga (NOT THE 730s): https://www.amazon.com/Lenovo-Yoga-730-13-i5-8250u/dp/B07CKNCQYX

or if you want a bigger display and a bonus 4gb ram, check out this: https://www.amazon.com/Lenovo-Touch-Screen-i5-8250U-Thunderbolt-Fingerprint/dp/B07CKVLP4V

all of them are available new on amazon, and include thunderbolt 3 so u can add an external graphics card or lightning fast storage down the road
