I'm confused... 1080p 144Hz IPS is already available... You can get them for like $300.

Caved in for this one.
LG 27GL650F-B 27 Inch Full HD Ultragear Gaming Monitor with 144Hz Refresh Rate and HDR 10 $315
IPS, 1ms and 144hz. Damn. I'm so excited to try it out! I hope it will fit my needs as a gamer and graphic designer. Yes, I don't mind 1080p lol. I work with mostly typography.
What's the difference between this one and https://www.amazon.ca/LG-27GL650F-B-Ultragear-Monitor-Refresh/dp/B07R7636MH
Is it just the resolution? I feel like I could deal with 27" Inch 1080p. You could get two of em for the same price
It’s been $250 on Amazon for the newer model for a while now. I think LG 27GL650 is the same model with hdr (useless). But it’s $249 same price at Amazon. Also 1080p. Only good if your gpu just can’t handle 1440p and you’re set on 27”. Will look good in some games, blurry in others.

Just to give some more 1080p on 27” feedback:
Apex Legends: Beautiful
Fortnite: Blurry far distance, as if TSAA is disabled but it’s not
Rust: Unplayable, all detail was sketchy. Textures were hard to see. Rust is a beautiful, but low FPS game on correct resolution. When it was stretched to 1080p on 27” it was really really bad.
Text/documents/web site browsing: Migraine inducing
I recently purchased the LG 27GL650F-B.
It has about the same specs (144hz, IPS, 1080p) except this one is 23.8" instead of 27". The LG monitor has a way better stand, but this Acer has better pixel density.
I am unsure about Acer's quality control, but I will keep an eye out for reviews.
I've been hunting around for a similar spec monitor the last few days, nothing has really stood out as a definitive best choice but here's a few I'm considering. If anyone has any experience with any of these or recommendations let me know.
Sceptre C248B-144R - 1080p/144hz 24in Curved VA
LG 24GL600F-B - 1080p/144hz 24in Flat TN
Acer ED273 Abidpx - 1080p/144hz 27in Curved VA
LG 27GL650F-B - 1080p/144hz 27in IPS
Dell S2719dgf - 1440p/155hz 27in Flat TN
If your fine with retail, this awesome LG monitor is $320 brand new from amazon. Shipping times are quite long ATM (really good price, and a very popular monitor) but it’s HDR, 1080p, G-Sync, 144hz, 27 inch, IPS, 1ms response time. Great monitor for the price, you’ll be hard pressed to find one that is as good of a deal (might get a better deal buying used, but this is a solid choice)

Not sure what the difference is.
Get the lg 27" it's cheaper and just as good LG 27GL650F-B 27 Inch Full HD Ultragear G-Sync Compatible Gaming Monitor with 144Hz Refresh Rate and HDR 10 - Black https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07R7636MH/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_i_v2R0DbAE247TT
Hi, before I pull the trigger on this I wanted to ask yall if its a good fit. I have a nvidia gtx 1060 6gb and plan on staying with nvidia in the future, I play both shooter and strategy games. my budget is 300 so to see this at 200 is nice. I hear that 144hz and 1080p is the way to go.
https://www.amazon.com/LG-27GL650F-B-Ultragear-Compatible-Monitor/dp/B07R7636MH/ref=pd_cp_147_4/138-7764890-0884237?_encoding=UTF8&pd_rd_i=B07R7636MH&pd_rd_r=37d86ecd-cf74-414e-824d-af6185272944&pd_rd_w=alzgk&pd_rd_wg=eCyDD&pf_rd_p=0e5324e1-c848-4872-bbd5-5be6baedf80e&pf_rd_r=3G2B8EHD46RG26YY69PF&refRID=3G2B8EHD46RG26YY69PF&th=1
Well here’s the thing: See I picked a VA panel, because I care about colors. And I hear TN panels are REALLY great for FPS games only. While I do play a LOT of FPS games, I also care about my colors. Not only that, but I play many games like MMOs, RPGs, sandboxes, and so forth. So, that’s not really a problem for me.
BUT monitor wise again, like getting a 1440p Monitor is easy sure for like $200+. But a 1440p Monitor that’s an IPS panel? Yeah I doubt I’ll be able to find that for a price of $250-$270. Maybe used, but I would never buy a used monitor.
Though there is a GREAT deal happening for a 27 inch LG monitor that goes to 1080p at 144hz. It’s an IPS panel for $250. That’s really good for that price. And for storage, I’m fine with my two SSDs. I’m not going to be doing any work with my PC. Mostly gaming/movies and shows. Possibly streaming too. But the movies and shows are mostly through Netflix and possibly Amazon’s little subscription service. So I’m good when it comes to that.
One thing to mention. Monitors get overlooked but this is what you'll be looking at every single day so dont skimp on a monitor.

I've tried all of them, and the LG 27GL650F-B is the best one.
I really like this one. I'll be replacing my current secondary monitor with it soon.
For the LG just an overview unfortunately, the main features here vs the aoc being 400 nits vs 250 nits, the most basic hdr support (totally not worth investing into a monitor for hdr anyways.. it's hardly available to usein games), I cannot however find a full proper review of this monitor other than Amazon which is subjective
For the AOC because it is a VA panel it does have the full color gamut, although it does get to 144hz it will have some ghosting, it does have a motion blur reduction setting, but because of the backlight bleed (additional light filtering through the monitor when completely blank) it's noted that motion blur reduction shouldn't be used outside of gaming.. it's a solid monitor though for the cost.. it's just that this is a very thorough review
For the Dell again not comprehensive, but this is a TN panel made by dell (dell has great backlights in their monitors) 400 nits brightness, another more in depth review
From Reddit
"IPS - Best color accuracy, but may be affected by backlight bleed / IPS glow
TN - Typically the fastest response times, but suffers from poor color accuracy and poor viewing angles.
VA - Best contrast, but slowest response times (may be subject to motion blur trying to keep up with 144 Hz)"
Alright enough article chasing... what are my thoughts on the 144hz vs 240hz?
I did a lot of research before purchasing my 240hz. After reading all the opinions and hearing everyone's input.. I stumbled on a video where the camera was filming the monitor from about 4 feet away. At 140hz the image looked amazing as expected, but at 240hz.. there was a shift in clarity. Like the difference between looking at a photo that is.. almost perfect, and a photo that is perfect. I knew then that I wanted a 240hz monitor.
This is important to me as well, because I do play FPS games. That being said, to get the full benefits of 240hz, the game must also be running at 240 frames per second. A game running at 240 frames per second on a 144hz monitor will not look as good or perform as good as a 244hz monitor and vice versa.
That's why for about 95% of gamers.. 75hz (maybe at 4k), or 144hz (at 1080p or 1440p) is more than acceptable. It's near impossible to get 240 frames at 1440p or 4k in games right now.
Edit: However it is true that running a game in less Hz than the game produces.. say 60hz with 140 frames per second, will still produce some improvement in game quality.
Finally I'll leave you with this about the AW2518HF, it's a 'native' 240hz monitor. I don't know of another monitor that uses that phraseology. It actually runs the clock necessary without using any motion blur reduction. Basically it means that it retains image quality even in very fast moving scenes. It's actually just amazing.

Basically the faster the ram , the better. If it's necessary, you'd be fine with 3200 speed memory
For the RX 5700, people who say they are loud are referring to the reference models. These cards have blower-style coolers that are not good. The MSI mech version has a much better cooler that performs better and is much quieter.
For the monitor, I always think that it's best to spend the most amount of money on the monitor that you can. It's what your whole computer is outputting too so if you cheap out on the monitor, the performance of the PC could be bottlenecked. The MSI one that I recommended is fine, but If I were you, I'd save up a bit more to get a higher quality display. Maybe something around the $250-$350 range with an ips panel.
