I've been looking forward to buying a LG 34GK950G-B.
I've watched it go in and out of stock at a few places (newegg, amazon, B&HPhoto never had it in stock) but any place that had it in stock was always at the full MSRP $1399 price. LG is having a Promo on it for $1199 (which not all places change their price to this) but it hadn't been available on any website for that advertised it for that price. Newegg dropped it to $1099 with an additional $50 promocode but that was swept up so quickly that they've been out since.
So the only place I've found in stock now is Adorama via Amazon.com and they have 10? 9? in stock (It said 10 when I ordered and is still 10) at the $1199 price, so if you're impatient and need a deal, there it is. But know that it has gone as little as $1049. That brings it closer to the AW3418DW price. The square trade 4 year warranty was only 11 bucks too, which I don't have any faith in square trade, but that's literally less than a percent of the cost of the monitor to upgrade the warranty on the other big annoyance people had with it.
EDIT: sold out now.
Recently Nvidia released drivers that support FreeSync for the two most recent GPU generations, Pascal and Turing. So any new Nvidia card that you are going to buy will support "adaptive sync". And - unless you scrape the bottom of the barrel for your monitor pricewise - even FreeSync monitors that are "uncertified" by Nvidia should work fine. Just make sure that your FreeSync monitor offers a feature called "Low Framerate Compensation" or "LFC".
In fact G-Sync only supports refresh rates up to 120 Hz, so faster panels, say 144 Hz, will always have to use FreeSync.
Example:
FreeSync variant: https://www.amazon.com/LG-34GK950F-B-34-21-Ultragear/dp/B0798Q8KG4
G-Sync variant: https://www.amazon.com/LG-34GK950G-B-34-21-Ultragear/dp/B07JVGLJ6R
The "G" variant does only 100 Hz (120 overclocked), while the "F" variant does 144Hz. Interestingly the "G" variant is even 5 bucks cheaper on amazon right now.
With either method of adaptive sync vsync is no longer needed and should be turned off, (if it doesn't turn off automatically already).
I have an Acer Predator X34, and the screen size & resolution spoiled me against playing on anything smaller. However, it is an older model, both Alienware and LG are newer with higher OC-able fps. Monoprice also have a decent one at half the price of others.
Don't need to worry about free/g-sync with these, since you won't be able to push anywhere close to these monitors limits with a 1070; my 1080ti only getting 60~90 fps
You get this one ? 995? LG 34GK950G-B

The F is 8-bit+FRC yes. Native 144 Hz, though. No gambling required. VRR range is 48Hz to 144 Hz (which supports LFC, effectively extends the range to 1 Hz to 144 Hz)
G is 100 Hz native, 120 Hz overclock, meaning the GSYNC module might or might not actually handle the 120 Hz:

I’ve narrowed it down to these two what do you think?

there is also this one https://www.amazon.com/LG-34GK950G-B-34-21-Ultragear/dp/B07JVGLJ6R.
Ps: the freesync version is confirmed gsync compatibile with new drivers ( is 200$ cheaper).
What would you need to run Rocket League on a 1440P Ultrawide with 100Hz G-Sync Monitor?
Hmm, is it not available in your region?
Acer X34P has the same stats as AW3418DW because they use the same display panel.
LG 34GK950-F - 34" WQHD (3440 x 1440) 21:9 Curved Nano IPS Display, GSync 100hz/120hz overclocked.
Generally IPS over VA if you plan to take full advantage of the refresh rate. VA tend to suffer from blur or ghosting at really high refresh rates.
I believe it goes IPS if you want beautiful vibrant colors and great image quality (especially at high FPS) and VA if you want deep blacks and really good contrast and want to save some money lol
LG has a really good IPS for a little bit more money LG 34GK950G-B 34" 21:9 Ultragear WQHD Nano IPS Curved Gaming Monitor with NVIDIA G-SYNC and Sphere Lighting (2018) https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07JVGLJ6R/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_i_H0JjDbG6KDTMP
