I use 'em. They work for me I think. I mean I think it's more than placebo effect because I tend to notice pretty quickly that my eyes are feeling strain when I forget to put them on.

Edit: Something else to consider is screen brightness. I'd already had my brightness dimmed, and that's when my eye doctor recommended the glasses to filter blue light to help further reduce eye strain.
