When I started CGSS I actually only had a bluetooth headset so I adapted.
By the time I got to Masters difficulty, it was just normal for me. After trying to figure out what was causing the lag and note drops in masters, I bought wired earbuds to test them out. It was almost like taking off training wheels, suddenly the game was much easier.
I was using the B609 music necklace: https://www.amazon.com/LifeCHARGE-Retractable-Bluetooth-Definition-Reduction/dp/B017BT1GKA . They have incredible music sound quality for bluetooth, so I liked them when I would walk around with my phone (they were also relatively discreet). Unfortunately as with what I've read from others with bluetooth devices, they aren't very practical for use with starlight stage..
