Here's some examples: M-Audio Q40, AKG K240, Shure SRH840

I'm not saying that headphones with detachable cables are better, just that they'll probably have a longer life than headphones with cables that are fixed to them.

M-Audio Q40's currently, connected to a FiiO E11 Amp. Cannot stress enough how much of a difference this amp does. If you think your cans dont have much bass, plug them into this and you will blow your fucking head off, and not with synthetic bass bullshit. Hit up Head-Fi.org, and specifically the Basshead Club. Feel free to PM me or ask me for more info and help on audio or just good fucking dub.

A few weeks ago, I posted this thread requesting help seeing if the ATH-M50s were right for me, and I was about to get them, when I stumbled across the M-Audio Studiophile Q40s and wasn't sure if they were better. I'm no audiophile, but I do enjoy good quality.

(Semi)Long story short...

What pair o' cans would you suggest?

It will replace my 5€ cable headphones at work. :-)
At home I use the Studiophile Q 40 by M-Audio (http://www.amazon.de/M-Audio-Studiophile-Q40-Over-Ear-Kopfh%C3%B6rer-116dB/dp/B000XT8JTM), mostly for the audio when watching movies. It seems because of the latency which is added by the Bluetooth connection I can't use them for watching vids, right (lip async)?

The M-Audio Q40 is also really good
