I actually got the malm bed as well as a Magtec Trendline desk yesterday and placed them as suggested I think. Here is an updated floor plan with both furnitures and various dimensions: Room Dimensions

Thanks for the suggestions regarding to the dressing area too, I have literally no clue what to do with it. I guess the malm dresser + futon (when family stays overnight) does sound like a nice idea. The shower door would hit anything thick on the back wall I am afraid.
