I think my skin looks pretty good without bragging. I still deal with Sebaceous Filaments and some Closed Comedones that will show up from time to time. But I think wearing sunscreen religiously for this long contributed to fading some sun spots that resulted from my childhood. Growing up in the 70s-80s, Sunscreen was a luxury for us and the highest SPF I remember seeing was 8! So you can imagine the damage that was done.

Friends and even people I meet always tell me I look in my 30s instead of 46. But to be honest, I wear sunscreen mainly for skin Cancer prevention not for vanity but I still want to look good while wearing it :).

My favorite sunscreens for now are:

For hot and humid days

Could someone help me out with sunscreens? I've tried 3 so far: 2 Asian and 1 European.

First I tried CosRx Aloe Soothing Sun Cream and it was okay except it made my skin look kinda shiny / oily - like if I was sweaty or something like that.

Then I bought Bioderma Photoderm Max Lait from the recommended page but it made me very greasy and left white paste on my face. Not to mention it irritated my eyes. I had to drop it and I can't even use it on my body either because of how it feels.

So I've read numerous time on this sub that Asian sunscreens are as matte as you could get so I decided to buy another Asian sunscreen which is Biore UV Aqua Rich Watery Essence and it's okay too since I can generally wear it with no problem but it too gives that "shiny / oily / sweaty" look to my skin.

Someone suggested that it could be because I applied it too soon after my moisturizer. But I've recently run out of moisturizer and I'm waiting for a new one and used sunscreen without any moisturizer at all for 2-3 days and it still looks like that. So moisturizer probably isn't an issue here.

If these Asian sunscreens are as good as it gets in providing invisible UV protection - should I stick to them and get over that shiny feeling or it makes sense to look for something else? I've asked a similar question some time ago and one user suggested me these ones:

"EltaMd UV Clear Broad-Spectrum SPF 46 is a combo sunscreen that goes on clear and has positive reviews from sensitive skin wearers.

My favorite at the moment is MAKEP:REM UV Defense Me Blue Ray Sun Fluid 200ml / 6.76. It is an all mineral sunscreen but no white cast at all.

For Chemical Sunscreens, Dear, Klairs - Soft Airy UV Essence SPF50+ PA++++ is practically invisible, has very high ratings and uses Uvinul T 150 and Uvinul 1, they are European sunscreen filters way superior than the traditional American ones since they are more stable."

Are they worth trying in my situation? Any more tips / recommendations?
