I want to be able to, for example, grant access to my in-laws so they can let themselves in, but without having them signed in to my Alexa account.

This is more of an Alexa or IFTTT question, as this same question could apply to my Lutron controllers, ecobee, etc...

Both the relays and the nodemcu power off 5v so you could just use a cell phone charging brick to power them. You could have it controlled via a lightweight webpage or you could just have the phone use REST API to send messages to trigger the open/closed/stop.

I would have to use the eWeLink app on my phone and IFTTT to make things talk to one another. I wish there was a Smart Life (Tuya) dry contact sensor or switch to use. I already have a bunch of their smart plugs and would have rather used the same Smart Life app that I am used to.

I am calling it a WiFi relay because previous posts that ive seen have called it a WiFi relay or a WiFi switch. Not sure about the difference in the technical terms so I am sorry if it confuses the post.

My inspiration for putting power on those two pins came from this video (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=J_zAhXF_i7I) starting from the 3:00 minute mark he begins to describe how to "trigger" a "button" using the electric current from the "switch/relay".

My thinking was to use a Wifi switch/relay like this (https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0752P57ZG/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_i_kGukDbFG03A9S) to trigger an electric current between those two pins in order to trigger the buzzer and thus unlocking the door.

Can you clarify why i would not want to use the same power from the wall that is powering the original circuit to the wifi switch?
