Midnight Blue by Nancy A. Collins (It is her 3 Sonja Blue novels in one volume). These are my all time favorite vampire books, and I'm incredibly picky. Midnight Blue is everything vampire novels should be. Fuck you, Twilight. I believe on the back of the book a reviewer calls it "dark, doomed, punk, metal-fanged romance at its best!" Deliciously disturbing urban fantasy!
For a less intense, but still great, read: Sunshine, by Robin McKinley.

Without knowing, I will simply suggest Midnight Blue : The Sonja Blue Collection since it has bits of everything in it. Horror, comedy, love, drama...
My husband turned me onto this book and he is not an avid reader so, since he suggested it to me, I knew it might be something special and, well, I think it was. Took me a little to get into it but, once I did, oh wow.
