I agree with the other comments here, don't worry about spending more to get more. If you haven't heard decent headphones (designed for the sound quality not the looks or marketing) then something cheaper will still be impressive.

Open Back
Closed Back
Open back is a headphone that allows sound to leak out and lets noise around you in. Closed back isolates you from surrounding noises and prevents noise from leaking out. If you will only be using these at home I would recommend open back. They generally sound better for the price.
I am incredibly happy with these headphones. They are very comfortable and do a great job of keeping noise out, I can mow the yard with them on and still easily listen to talk radio with clarity. I really enjoy the quality of sound for the price as I tend to destroy my headphones quickly.

Imo, if you need a one with mic get something cheaper, the 7.1 is just a gimmick.
If you want something good get the Monoprice's plus a cheap mic instead.
I brought some Monoprice 108323s on tour last year, and just had them folded up hanging on a bungee cord above my seat. They're cheap-ish (I got them for like $20), so you don't have to worry a whole lot about breaking or losing them, but they're also pretty good headphones for the price point. They don't have active noise cancellation, but they blocked out most of the noise on the bus when I wanted to get some sleep. They've lasted me 2 years of casual use and one season of drum corps so far, probably the best $20 I've ever spent. The only downside is that the stock earpads are a little uncomfortable, but I was able to get some comfortable replacements pretty inexpensively on their website.

I'd be surprised if you can find a halfway decent gaming headset that's inexpensive, as they tend to have poor sound and microphones for the money until you hit the premium tier. But you can get some pretty excellent $30 wired headphones that will last you a long time and be useful for other things besides gaming, and that mic that I linked is only $10 and sounds way better than the mic on my cheap headset.

Going to have to overshoot 50 bucks on this:
32GB-64GB SD card (if your phone supports it): $20-30 and 40-50$ (128GB for $120 if you really want to go nuts)
Decent TPU case: 5-9$
Spare battery (if your phone supports it): 9-13$ for a third party.
Headphones: $5-250 (I got these back when they were $20 and they are awesome. Really, you can't go wrong with most headphones vs using your phone speaker for audio.)
$1-3 OTG cable: As mentioned, invaluable if you want to hook up a mouse/keyboard to your phone.
As for apps, I'd definitely outright buy Titanium Backup Pro (6$), Greenify donation package (3$), Pocketcasts (4$), and Smart IR Remote (7$ and if your phone has an IR blaster) at the very least.
I work 5 days a week as a club Dj and got tired of replacing expensive headphones every 6 months. I tried these they work great and last a long time. Visiting DJ's who forgot theirs or they broke and borrowed mine were surprised when I told them.
I've got the 8323 and panasonic RP-HTF600. I slightly prefer the Panasonic. Although the Monoprices are sturdier, I feel like the mids and highs wear my ears out on the Monoprices.
You should try the Monoprice 8323s (Available via Amazon). These are $25 USD headphones, and can easily pass for $200 cans. They seal up nice and tight to block out noise, and have really decent bass, mids, and highs. I've had mine about a week and like them as much as my Grado SR60s.
Monoprice 8323 is a good low-budget option. I've used these for around 2 years myself. Good pair of headphones, however the extension on one side has cracked and is beginning to crack on the other. It's easily repairable with electrical tape, and considering the color you can't really see it, but that is a factor. Cheap enough to replace if I really wanted to, however.
Audio-Technica ATH-M50x is close to the max on your budget, but is a universally recommended great option.
Whatever you get, make sure it has a replaceable/detachable cord.

The problem is not with the external mic accessory, the problems arrive internally, as is wont to happen when you mic two things you shouldn't be mixing.

People actually do that? That sounds ridiculously unsafe. Crimeny, you just know those are going to be the people yelling the loudest when they break their ankles in a scooter accident.
Visual triggers are a thing? There are a few things I get misophonic reactions to, but I never felt comfortable applying the label to them because, well, the definition of misohonia concerns sounds. But mine are weird too. If my mom is walking around the house and stops suddenly to think, and it's in my peripheral vision... Rage. I just want to shove her and get her to start moving again. People doing things unnecessarily slowly, too, like making coffee in slow motion. YOU DUMB SLOTH WHY CAN'T YOU JUST DO IT FREAKING NORMALLY COME ON DO YOU EVEN KNOW HOW MUCH I WANT TO DUMP THAT COFFEE POT ON YOU RIGHT NOW?!
No idea why those trigger me. Just gotta close my eyes and, if someone's breathing heavily or coughing, blast some rainymood or metal or orchestra through my headphones. (life has gotten so much easier since I invested in a pair of Monoprice 'phones. If you don't already have good headphones, those are exceptional for the price).

The $50 Klipsch IMAGE S4 are great for the price. I used mine for over 2 years before they broke. They won't be as durable as some IEMs but if you take care of them they're great.
These $55 VSONIC R02 IEMs are apparently pretty great, but I haven't tried them.
These $30 Monoprice over-ear headphones are supposedly great for their price. I've never listened to them though.
And there are always the $11-17 Monoprice earbuds. They sound awesome for how cheap they are, but they would benefit from better tips.

These along with some memory foam ear pads. Then you could just grab an inline mic aux cable for cheap. All in all it would be a bit over your budget but you will have super comfortable great sounding headphones with a replaceable cable. The headphones come with a 4 foot cable and a 10 foot cable. These are the only headphones I use for my all around use.

Monoprice 8323's would be perfect, I've owned many headphones from $5-$200 and frequent r/headphones, these are one of the best bang for buck options out there. Sound much better than their price and block out a lot of external noise as well

Instead of a ModMic I use a V-MODA BoomPro ($29 mic with 3.5mm passthrough jack that plugs into headphones) attached to Philips SHP9500 headphones ($89; sound good and are very comfortable). Previously I used a Monoprice 108323 clone ($28; sound ok, but were tight on my head), which is a cheaper alternative. There's also official V-MODA headphones, but they are super expensive.
Unfortunately, some headphones that have a 3.5mm jack, such as Sennheiser, have a locking mechanism that prevent the BoomPro from connecting. There are guides on how to mod them to make it work, but I wasn't brave enough to try.
The advantage of this setup is that the mic is decoupled from the headphones, so if either one breaks it can be replaced. Also the mic can be disconnected to listen to music on a trip. With a traditional gaming headset if either one breaks you have to replace the whole headset. It also allows you to have high quality headphones if desired. Gaming headsets sound OK, but sometimes compromises are made to bring down price. Maybe only audiophiles care, though.

A lot of this depends on your budget. Wanting to step up from 25€ still doesn't tell us how much you are willing to spend. All dollar amounts listed below are in USD:
Sub $20 - Tascam TH02. $18. Similar to the HD201 from Sennheiser, but easier to find and much cheaper.
Additionally, the Monoprice HiFi Studio Headphones are another excellent choice around $25.
$30 to $50 range - Koss Porta Pro. $33. I've always heard great things about these headphones, plus they have a sweet look.
$70ish range - Philips SHP9500S. These are closer to $75, but are extremely comfortable and have amazing sound for the price.
Most of these headphones won't require an external amp/DAC, but it won't hurt to have one either.
There aren't many in this price range that get a lot of recommendations around here. Since you need a closed back headphone for use on buses, this rules out the semi-open Superlux models, like the HD681 EVO.
Maybe the Monoprice 8323 will work for you.

I don't think you and I bought the same studio headphones, then. To clarify myself a bit: I've bought two pair of the "pro studio DJ" headphones (which I can't find on their site anymore, so, these), and both were a league above my old skullcandy or Razer headphones (i made mistakes when younger), for roughly a third the cost. The lightweight ones are absolutely awful (comparatively, still better than Skullcandy).

Edit: I forget the exact model, but if I remember correctly, those headphones are exactly the same as a $70 pair made by Kicker. Just branded differently and sold much cheaper.

34 Suggestions :Creative Aurvana Live New is outside of your budget but there's some used (Like New) on Amazon that's pretty close to $50. They say over-ear but it might be on-ear if you have large ears.
Panasonic HTF600 Warm and bassy. Price has been high on these for some reason. I bought these over the summer for under $30. Still a good buy at $40.
Monoprice 8032 All about the mids, decent bass. Headband got uncomfortable after extended use. Might need to invest in a headband like this

I've got some monoprice over ear style headphones which I plug into my Scarlett Solo, and they're pretty good. Nice and cheap too. They come with a 1/4 inch to 1/8 inch adapter in the box, and pair of cables (1.5m and 3m).
They're exceptionally good headphones for the cost of them. I managed to pick a pair up for £10 ($17?) a few years back and have used them ever since.

Ever heard of the Monoprice 8323? Pretty good headphones that are super cheap. If you end up getting them and find its a bit uncomfortable, i would suggest getting ear pads. I got the Beyerdynamic EDT 250 Velour Padded Earcushions and it made the headphones super comfy.

Yeah, I went with the over ear ones. When I used in-ear ones for a long time, I got some problems with my ears, so I'm kinda afraid that that would happen again. The overear ones are 16 pounds right now, original price of 64. I can't tell if they are really worth 64, or if its an endless sale to make it seem cheaper.

I just bought them for my girlfriend after reading a million great things about them. The sound guy on the youtube channel "Tested" was in a video they put out not too too long ago and all he did was rave about headphones. I learned a ton of shit from watching it, but I'm most glad that I learned of these headphones. Simply the best sound you're going to ever get out of headphones less than $50. Granted they aren't the best headphones ever, but to spend $27ish and get this kind of sound is simply unheard of for me. Perfect to give to a SO or good friend.

I currently use a logitech G340 with the 7.1 SS turned on for gaming. But for video recording and production (nothing too extreme), I would like a headphone to use the mic with. As far as removable cable in your price range with a 4Star Rating on Amazon, this was the best I could find. I cannot myself vouch for the quality, as I have no experience with it.
You may however gain advantage from using a Mic+headset instead.. here You can look at a couple of options in the price range of 60$; The Corsair Void is honestly pretty good.

I am looking for headphones to replace my Sennheiser HD 205. I picked them up on a whim when at Fry's, and they lasted 4 months of being permanently in my computer, and almost being babied; now there is a problem with the wire and I have to fiddle with it near where it connects to the headset. Before them I had a pair of N-Tune by Monster, on those the headband snapped from normal putting on and taking off.
I am looking to get headphones that are circum-aural, decent sound (not an audiophile; Skype, mumble, netflix, video games are key points for me.), and STURDY (I have a big head). Budget is <$75. I will not be using them while traveling, so portability is a non issue; using a computer. Isolation is a non issue my house is pretty quiet. A removable wire would be preferable, so if an issue like the one I am experiencing happens I might be able to just get a new wire and not have to get them repaired or replaced.

Budget: $40usd hard limit
Source: PC (board specs) and occasionally via my phone.
Requirements for Isolation: At home, don't wanna disturb parents sleeping upstairs though.
Will you be using these Headphones in Public?: Rarely, if ever.
Preferred Type of Headphone: Full-Sized, Circumaural, wired, active.
Past headphones: SteelSeries Siberia V2 - I don't game anymore however, and my interests have shifted more towards higher audio quality (without a need for a mic for example).
Preferred tonal balance: Not sure about this one..I'm guessing neutral/balanced?
Preferred Music: Vocal/progressive trance, alternative rock, hard rock, and occasionally classical.
What would you like to improve on from your set-up: I'd like a taste of the audiophile life, and if possible, detachable cables :)

It's probably not worth it just for the 7.1. Tho i have heard the 780 is more comfortable. A pair of headphones and a clipon mic would give 3x sound quality tho. Go for it if you want, just seems stupid imo.

Finding a used pair of 555 or 558and doing the [foam mod] (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PvQ8PzBrHXE) is by FAAAR the best value ~~

once you go black you never go backMonoprice has a very good pair of headphones and then I have a Zalman clip on mic. Cost about $35 together. UK links for the headphones and for the mic.
Headphones are excellent, especially for the price. They also have the cable separate easily from the headphones, eliminating my #1 headphone failure.
Mic is decent, clips on to headphone cable. Works fine, a little expensive in the UK and you can probably find a cheaper clip on mic, but this one is definitely good.
