How about this cool phase-changing moon?

It looks just like a light up moon model I bought my son a long time ago called Moon in My Room

Taplights. I can't say this enough. I just set them on flat surfaces on the most used route through the house. Turn them on as you walk past and turn them off when you come back.

I also took down my [Moon In Your Room] (http://www.amazon.com/Uncle-Milton-Moon-In-Room/dp/B000EUHKUE) set it on the floor and used it as a 'campfire' around which my husband and I sat in the living room and ate ice cream.

You could get them an indoor star projector thingy like this. Or maybe a moon in my room and a really soft throw blanket.


Or how about a theme park gift card? That way they can buy the tickets when they want. Maybe if they like a certain theme park with certain characters you can buy them a novelty from it (like a Steamboat Willy) and some candy themed from there.


Nature? Awesome! How about wildlife documentaries on DVD? Maybe a cool wilderness guidebook? What about a butterfly kit? Oo! How about a firefly light?


Ok I'm out of ideas off of the top of my head for now, but I think it really is doable. :)

The remote was handy, and the light is sort of off-white/blue.

You need batteries for both the moon and the remote so make sure to add them to your prime order. ;)

My minecraft kid really loves the shirts that feature his youtube heroes, in fact i'm getting him a pat and jen shirt this year, but he also loves the dantdm one from walmart. As Ejalamung suggested, sunglasses are huge and a watch is great. Those are two really good ones.

One St. Valentines Day my husband bought a toy moon like this. It lights up and he also got the Glow in the Dark stick on stars and decorated our entire living room with them, and after we went to a nice dinner he blindfolded me and took me into the living room where he had our song playing( "Fly Me to the Moon" by Frank Sinatra) and we danced in the light of the fake moon and stars.

Hi! I'm new here too. I'd love to hang this in my room. I have terrible trouble falling asleep most nights, so I'm trying to turn my bedroom into a Zen Zone. I think it would be lovely to look at whilst I'm tossing and turning. =) Something about me: I can't live without a book to read. If I don't have a book I'm reading, it throws my whole life off. Usually Fantasy or Sci-Fi, or an exceptional mystery novel.

Moon in My Room is what we use. It unfortunately has a light sensor, so you have to turn off the moon every morning, otherwise it will activate during the day as light levels change.

The kids and I like to do all sorts of sciency stuff. Some of the things we do are

• star watching. We love to use an app from my phone and go out and pick out constellations at night.
  
  
• We also collect rocks and polish them with the rock tumbler that /u/zoobles88 gifted the kids for Christmas.
  
  
• We built a biodome. We added dirt, vegetation and a couple insects and worms that all coexist together in their own little world.
  
  I believe the kids would LOVE this because they love looking at the moon, and this is the next best thing to a telescope for that!

Moon in my room! My boys were obsessed with the moon at those ages and it's like a night light and a moon for their bedroom. And it's not "boy stuff" or "girl stuff." Anything planet-related or dinosaurs is gender neutral and pretty universally loved by 1-3 year olds.
