Even in a group I like to be capable of self-sufficiency, so I like to carry my own tent. For food, I'd check out freeze dried food. Just add boiling water, seal, wait x minutes and eat. When you're done, use the bag for trash.
For solo camping, I'd recommend getting a PLB. Your safety margin goes down a lot without someone else there, something like this could save your ass.
