How does it compare to this MSI GAMING Radeon RX 480 GDDR5 8GB CrossFire VR Ready FinFET DirectX 12 Graphics Card (RX 480 GAMING X 8G) https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01K1JTT8S/ref=cm_sw_r_fm_apa_AQEQyb16YH4H) card?

u/LicensedPrism · 4 pointsr/pcmasterrace

Can't see what you want, I'm assuming gtx 1060 vs rx 480?
edit: ahh ok, I would recommend getting this as it is cheaper, and generally runs at higher settings than the gtx 1060.

u/[deleted] · 3 pointsr/Amd

Best RX 480's:

XFX GTR

MSI Gaming

Sapphire Nitro+

All those have 4gb variants at a cheaper price. Out of those cards no one is the best but the XFX has the best overclock. So pick the cheapest or whatever looks best to you.

Hope this helps!

EDIT: Spend another $100 and you can have a 144Hz FreeSync monitor. Something like a AOC 24inch

u/notaneggspert · 2 pointsr/buildapc

You could look around on Camelcamelcamel.com. They track price histories. FTW3 cards been very stable.

The 480 has fluctuated more

1070's are also fluctuating a lot. 3rd party sellers are taking advantage of the demand more than Amazon so try to just look at the Amazon prices and ignore the absurd $1060 premium some idiot bought a 1070 8GB ROG STRIX OC for.

Amazon "only" charged $30 more for them at the most- not the worst premium to pay if you don't want to wait on prices to drop.

u/Fireye · 2 pointsr/BuildAPCSalesMeta

The seller, OneDealOutlet Online, is the only store with new ones in stock: https://www.amazon.com/gp/offer-listing/B01K1JTT8S

u/JonzieK · 2 pointsr/buildapc

Get the MSI RX 480 off amazon its $235 after rebate. SeaSonic 550w Gold rated PSU instead of the Corsair CX. MSI Z170 with wireless built in if you don't want to fuss about with the wireless card.

Edit: New list @ $1099.90

Edit 2: Ugh two SATA ports are nuked on that Z170 with the wifi built in. Might be best to just get the card separately then.

u/epiccake808 · 2 pointsr/pcmasterrace

Yea those are both 480's. The Asus one has a different cooler on it, that's all. The other one is a reference card, or the card with a stock cooler from AMD. Performance wise, they should perform similarly, but the Asus card will run cooler and quieter. There are a ton of RX 480's on the market, all with different designs. There's this one here as well as this one and this one. So to answer your question, yes they're the same cards, just from different manufacturers.

u/deen5526 · 2 pointsr/EtherMining

Samsung seems to be the best memory actually. Maybe your flash wrong? When I flashed myself it didn't work out but I found a bios online for my card that worked perfect.

I have these cards:

No the gaming x has red and black accents, backplate and a heatsink/fan setup that covers the board. https://www.amazon.com/MSI-GAMING-RX-480-8G/dp/B01K1JTT8S

u/joheinous · 2 pointsr/pcmasterrace

Its actually the same price in some instances https://www.amazon.com/MSI-GAMING-RX-480-8G/dp/B01K1JTT8S

Also, just to make absolutely sure I don't mess this up haha... this one would work right? I'm so sorry for being such a boob about computers haha

For the CPU (i5 7500) and motherboard (Asus Prime z270A), you might want to consider getting it from Sim Lim Square. Tradepac is selling the bundle for 569. It will be slightly more expensive by around 13 SGD, but you get the warranty. Of course, if warranty doesn't matter, then go ahead and get from Amazon.

For the GPU, your listed MSI Radeon RX 480 8GB Gaming X. Since you are already getting some items from Amazon, you might want to consider getting it from Amazon as well. Link here (https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01K1JTT8S/ref=twister_B01KKKAS9W?_encoding=UTF8&psc=1). It is going for 245 USD, which should be around 368 SGD (after factoring Credit card and miscellaneous charges), therefore eligible for FSSG and no GST incurred. This should reduce some of the budget hopefully. Of course, you mentioned that you prefer GPU to be bought locally for warranty, so it's up to you whether the money saved is worth it or not.

If you don't mind XFX Radeon RX 480 8GB, you may consider getting it from Lazada (http://www.lazada.sg/xfx-radeon-rx-480-8gb-gddr5-true-oc-1288mhz-triple-x-edition-hardswap-graphics-card-10847248.html). Current price is 389, but with the promo code "CNYHUAT10", you can get a further 10% discount which will bring it down to 359 SGD. There will be local warranty for it.

Additional info. I will be mostly playing Overwatch, Rocket League, FPS games, etc. I was looking at the below MOBO and GPU.

GPU
https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B01K1JTT8S/ref=ox_sc_act_title_1?ie=UTF8&psc=1&smid=ATVPDKIKX0DER

MOBO
https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B015ZKJS66/ref=ox_sc_act_title_3?ie=UTF8&psc=1&smid=ATVPDKIKX0DER

No reason in particular for the above choices other than price and appear to have what I need. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

u/HeroicHedgehog2_BF1 · 1 pointr/gadgets

Cool. I googled freesync monitors n every one was recommending a 500 dollar BenQ one that was discontinued. Geez.

https://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B01K1JTT8S/ref=mp_s_a_1_2?ie=UTF8&qid=1487832444&sr=8-2&pi=AC_SX236_SY340_FMwebp_QL65&keywords=rx480+8gb&dpPl=1&dpID=519mvlkVsAL&ref=plSrch
Not sure what the difference in all these so I was just going to buy Amazon's choice. Seems more expensive for some reason. I only run one display port and one HDMI for a side monitor.

u/Rarehero · 1 pointr/buildapc

Get the 8GB version though. The 4GB version can have annoying stuttering in newer games because of the limited VRAM.

u/MoonBear_Cub · 1 pointr/Amd

Yeah it's a Mini-Itx one, so I know about finding a case to fit that. the motherboard is still working well, I think I'll look to upgrade those next, when I save up, the main issue is the GPU.

I'm assuming most modern GPUs and PSUs will work with the motherboard right?
The model of it is 06g6jw, by Dell, I think.

The GFX I'm looking at is this: https://www.amazon.com/MSI-GAMING-RX-480-8G/dp/B01K1JTT8S/ref=sr_1_2?s=pc&ie=UTF8&qid=1479972212&sr=1-2&keywords=RX+480

So what would I need to look at specifically to ensure combatibility :)

Thanks for your input! Another user suggested the RX 480 instead of the EVGA gtx 1060, and I found one for the same price as the 1060. Would that work better for gaming at 1080p?

This is now currently the same price as the MSI RX 480 Gaming x 8 Gb on amazon (after shipping), https://www.amazon.ca/MSI-GAMING-RX-480-8G/dp/B01K1JTT8S/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1481812279&sr=8-1&keywords=rx+480+msi

I'll be doing a build within the next 2 months (gonna wait to buy the CPU once the next gen of Intel is released to drop prices), which would you guys suggest I go with? I'll be running dual 1080p IPS 24" monitors with Freesync (LG 24MP68VQ-P)

Side note: I won't have any way of testing it until my whole build is complete, so I'm unsure of buying parts like GPU, CPU and mobo ahead of time

I've been planning on upgrading my R9 280X with either a RX 480 or a R9 Fury, which should I buy?

  1. XFX RX 480 GTR 8GB ($270, $250 w/ -$20 rebate)
  2. MSI RX 480 Gaming 8GB ($250, $235 w/ -$15 rebate)

  3. Sapphire Nitro R9 Fury ($260, $240 w/ -$20 rebate)

I personally use two monitors, both viotek one a 27 inch and the other a 32 inch, both with display port, hdmi and dvi connections. Been doing research on going up to 3 27 inch (would have to upgrade my gpu) and what I found is that at least one monitor HAS to be connected via Display Port as there is a limit on legacy connections due to hardware, a max of 2 iirc, especially for AMD eyefinity.

You have a dvi and 2 hdmi, which would be the reason you can't use the third.

The monitors appear to be the culprit, as none of them have display ports, but the gpu has 2x dp, 2x hdmi and 1x dvi, at least from what I found on amazon

Please correct me if I'm wrong, doing this from my phone.

I did not know there was a small Version of the Rx 480? Thought it was just the default 2 fan one like this one https://www.amazon.com/MSI-GAMING-RX-480-8G/dp/B01K1JTT8S/ref=sr_1_1?s=pc&ie=UTF8&qid=1480477396&sr=1-1&keywords=rx+480

First google hit. Cards still on shelves, its just not being produced anymore.

Manufacturer will probably give you a refurbished RX 480, or whatever they are legally obligated to give you. (Some countries don't count Refurbs as a like new replacement)

u/darkmoon66 · 1 pointr/buildapc

2 things: 1 big, 1 small.

Big Thing:
That GTX 760 you are buying is VERY outdated (4+ years old). You want to get something like a GTX 1060 or an RX 480 instead.

Small Thing: The cooler you bought comes with thermal paste applied already, so you don't really need to buy more.

u/destinistos · 1 pointr/pcmasterrace

Honestly, I'd recommend This RX 480 8GB
It's simply faster in the majority of titles in recent benchmarks, and is $30 cheaper.

u/poerf · 1 pointr/Amd

Yeah figured this would have been a Europe price issue but I'm even getting screwed in the USA https://www.amazon.com/MSI-RX-480-Radeon-GAMING/dp/B01K1JTT8S

The vendor I use syncs their price to Amazon so when amazon has awful prices it affects me. The card is considerably cheaper on other websites.

I did see something about pre orders on the amazon site that would come in stock on the 14th/today so it's possible the price will drop. I'm hopeful.

u/Kinky_Tinker · 1 pointr/pcmasterrace

Pardon my ignorance, but something like this? MSI GAMING Radeon RX 480 GDDR5 8GB CrossFire VR Ready FinFET DirectX 12 Graphics Card (RX 480 GAMING X 8G) https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01K1JTT8S/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_gv.HybZY4VPT5

u/DZCreeper · 1 pointr/buildapc

https://www.amazon.com/MSI-GAMING-RX-480-4G/dp/B01K1JTT8S

They all perform the same, that card has the best cooler.

u/unfunnydick · 1 pointr/nvidia

MSI 480 is slightly on sale at Amazon right now.

I was going to snag one out of boredom and do an itx build, but then read the AMD Relive 17.1 Driver thread and there are so many complaints about broken shit and just slowly backed away from that idea.

u/coolgamerboi · 1 pointr/buildapc

Yes like that but don't get one with the reference cooler. You'd want something like this or this. Basically something with 2 fans for cooler temps. For deals on these parts check out /r/buildapcsales . I notice now that you're on a laptop so I don't really see how you can install this in there....
