Look for 'daily facial' moisturizers with spf 35 in them. There's a bunch out there, not too spendy, either. :)

For example: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B003XUROHQ/

I use an SPF 35 moisturizer that isn't really a sunscreen, per se. It's awesome though, this stuff here:

https://www.amazon.com/Neutrogena-Oil-Free-Moisture-Spectrum-Sunscreen/dp/B003XUROHQ?th=1

On really sunny days or longer rides (metrics, centuries or endurance races) I'll use actual sunblock, but just about every other time I ride I use this stuff. It doesn't make your skin feel or smell like you have sunblock on and even helps a bit with windburn in the colder seasons.

Product Question:
I would like to add BHA/AHA into my skincare routine to help clear my pores and smooth and brighten my skin. Currently my routine is:

Morning:
-Wash with Cetaphil Gentle Skin Clenser http://www.amazon.com/Cetaphil-Gentle-Skin-Cleanser-16/dp/B0014CQ90I/ref=sr_1_sc_3?ie=UTF8&qid=1450726591&sr=1-3-spell&keywords=cetaphilgentle
-5% Benzoyl Peroxide (only if I have a breakout somewhere)
-Neutrogena Oil Free Moisutrizer, spf 35 http://www.amazon.com/Neutrogena-Oil-Free-Moisture-Ounce/dp/B003XUROHQ/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1450726655&sr=8-1&keywords=neutrogena+spf+35

Night:
-Cetaphil Cleanser listed above
-Tretinoin .05% on all problem area's
-Cetaphil Moizturizing Lotion http://www.amazon.com/Cetaphil-Fragrance-Moisturizing-Lotion-Bottles/dp/B00EZWS16E/ref=sr_1_1?s=beauty&ie=UTF8&qid=1450727052&sr=1-1&keywords=cetaphil+gentle+moisturizing+lotion

I have a bunch of nose blackheads/sebaceous filaments I would like to get rid of and some comedones on my forehead that just won't go away. I wouldn't say I have sensitive skin, but my skin does scar easily so I am a little hesitant to throw in the wrong product and have a initial purge that would leave acne scars. Am worries stride will be too dry, but not sure which PC BHA product would be the best for my skin. Thanks!

Neutrogena Oil-Free Moisturizer with spf 35 or Olay Complete spf 30. I have oily skin but find both of these moisturizing without making me excessively greasy. My favorite is Olay, but I have two guy friends that use the Neutrogena spf 35 moisturizer and like it a lot.

Also if you feel like your face is shiny or oily during the day, definitely consider using blotting sheets (honestly napkins would work fine just as well too).

Hello SCA!

Skin Type: Balanced, combination. I get seasonal dryness, no oiliness otherwise. No acne. Occasional pimple once every 8 months.

Current Routine: Just wash my face in the shower with whatever I can find. Usually a daily scrub off the shelf.

Location: Upstate New York

I don't have a problematic skin. No pimples or acne since I was a teenager, but they have left me with very little ice-pick scarring near my eyes. It's hardly noticeable.

I'm just looking for a more even toned, brighter skin. Here's what I have in my cart so far after reading the SCA Routine from wiki. Please approve or help make ammendments. I would greatly appreciate it. Thank you.

Nip + Fab Glycolic Fix Scrub, 2.5 Ounce (Plan on using it once or twice a week)

Aveeno Positively Radiant Brightening Cleanser (For AM/PM cleansing)

Aveeno exfoliating daily scrub (For daily AM/PM use)

Neutrogena Oil Free Moisture - SPF 35 (for sunny days)

Kiehl's Ultra Facial Cream (for non-sunny day moisturizing)

Kiehl's Vitamin C (for nightly use)

I'm mildly wary of chemical exfoliation and cleansing, only because I've never had any problems and I don't want any new problems from taking off too much skin. What do you guys think?

For the past couple of years I've been going with a moisturizer like this. I love it because it's non-comedogenic, works good with my kind of oily skin, and it has spf.

I always apply moisturizer in the morning and at night, and I was wondering if there was a better night time moisturizer. I don't need the spf, and I don't need to worrying about looking like I have a ton of moisturizer on my face, so is there a better option?

My face.

Combo/Oily - NW United States (Oregon) - Main skin concern is acne/acne scars and combatting oiliness/dryness (it's gets uber flaky when it's colder out).

AM:

  • FAB Exfoliating Pads

  • Neutrogena Oil Free Moisture SPF 35

(I've tried washing my face in the morning and it just dries out my skin really bad, so I just use the toner pads)

    PM:

  • 1st step: Sephora Cleansing Oil

  • 2nd step: Boscia Charcoal Cleansing Gel (Note I did just start using this a week ago. Before I used Lush face wash in Dark Angels)

  • FAB Toner Pad

  • It's Skin VC Effector

  • Cosrx Snail Mucin Essence

I use the VC in my under eyes and oilier places, then use the Cosrx on my drier/more acne affected areas.

  • Ole Henrikson Sheer Transformation

I sometimes (like once a week) use a random sheet mask to try but I never noticed and difference with my acne.

My main issue is the acne on the sides of my face. They're not huge or cyst-like and a lot of them are mainly scars and just tiny bumps. How in the ever living shit do I get rid of them?! The sides of my face don't get oily or dry and are pretty much normal. The toner pads have helped a lot with bringing them down, but I haven't noticed much of a difference other than that. Is there anything I'm missing?

Hi /r/SkincareAddiction! I just started reading about skincare and after looking through the FAQ and product recommendations, I was wondering if it's unusual or incorrect to use an AM moisturizer at night. I'm a man so I was wondering if there is any concern behind using different products or different things I should prioritize? I have normal skin and am looking for budget products so I'm thinking of using the Neutrogena Oil-Free Moisture With Broad Spectrum Spf 35 Sunscreen as an AM/PM moisturizer and the CeraVe Hydrating Facial Cleanser for Daily Face Washing, Dry to Normal Skin for the cleanser (because it was on the recommendations). Also, I hope my product names weren't unusual, I couldn't discern what was important and what wasn't in the titles so I just removed the amount of product listed.

You're absolutely right, though it is nice to have skincare products for men sometimes. As a real example, I use Neutrogena Oil Free Daily Long Lasting Facial Moisturizer & Neck Cream daily, which is probably a low bar for good skin care.

My face, however, is considerably larger than the face of the target consumer and the pumping mechanism/instructions don't really work for me. Not a huge deal, I can just put more on, but my face isn't really 2 pumps worth either so it's a bit of a waste. I don't know if concealer comes with instructions or not, but I guarantee you "Concealer for Men" would. (Not that we'd read them...lol.)

Also, I'm aware that you can probably think of 5 examples of the same principle going the other way, e.g. "pink tax".
