I will never have a set up without it. This winter I upgraded to a LED controller that can be changed via Amazon Alexa. ALEXA LEDS ON! ALEXA TURN LEDS BLUE! Such a sweet little mod.

Thanks guys! Yes I have a color changing light strip mounted behind it (linked below). Connects to Alexa and can change colors through the app

For a long game this makes sense, currently, I use wemo for managing lights, air conditioner etc.

Currently, my other option is to return bloom and buy something like this: https://www.amazon.com/Nexlux-Wireless-Controller-Working-Android/dp/B072DXFKRH/ref=sr_1_3?ie=UTF8&qid=1499177748&sr=8-3&keywords=smart%2Bwifi%2Bled&th=1

Nexlux, it's a Chinese company. They have their own "Magic Home" app that's probably the same concept, but it doesn't let you write code to control the lights. I'm basically trying to do the same things as the app, except from my laptop.

Something like This?

u/rclonecopymove · 1 pointr/tradfri

Yeelight strip

Lifx strip (still expensive but no hub required)

[More DIY option ](https://www.amazon.com/Nexlux-Wireless-Controlled-Waterproof-Assistant/dp/B072DXFKRH/
)

with the last option you can add extensions easily or right angle connections (if you want to do the back edge of the TV etc.
