Go for the Nixeus. Has good reviews and a large Freesync range.

Nixeus Vue 24" 144Hz Gaming Monitor, AMD FreeSync, 1920x1080, 1ms, Adaptive-Sync 30Hz to 144Hz

This one has widest operational range for freesync that i have found, and i really like it. but you do need to play with gamma and other calibration setting a bit.

link goes to nicer stand you can get it cheaper with more basic stand.

Review I went off of.

Nixeus VUE24

Freesync is a plus if you have an AMD card

u/ClayK · 2 pointsr/buildapc

If you end up going with a 390, this is a pretty good monitor to go with it. It's 1080p 144hz with AMD's Freesync from 30hz to 144hz. If you want to use a monitor with a variable refresh rate to avoid screen tearing, keep in mind that a roughly equivalent monitor with Gsync would be much more expensive because of the required Gsync module in the monitor.

As for the variant of the card you'll be getting, I'm running the Asus R9 390 (non-strix) and I haven't run into any issues with it. I probably would have gone with the MSI variant, but they were sold out everywhere I looked when I was buying my parts.

u/Kronos_Selai · 2 pointsr/buildapc

It's definitely an added bonus if your card cant hit the refresh rates consistently. In layman's speak, it smooths things out when the card can't hit 60hz or 144hz. Many models now exist for gsync and freesync options, but freesync tends to be a bit more expensive compared to standard, whereas gsync is in the upper echelon of prices. You can find a 1080p 144hz freesync no problem. Apparently this one is really good. https://www.amazon.com/Nixeus-1920x1080-Adaptive-Sync-Widescreen-NX-VUE24A/dp/B0131PBN6U

I personally would buy this one. https://www.amazon.com/AOC-G2770PQU-Ultimate-Performance-Professional/dp/B00L8LTB3W

u/iamstephen1128 · 2 pointsr/buildapc

Assuming an intermediate budget that can afford a build that can run both but doesn't have room for a $700+ monitor, I'd say go Team Red and do 1080 144hz. You can pick up a 24", 30-144Hz Freesync monitor for just $310 USD

u/LiamNegan · 2 pointsr/pcmasterrace

I just bought a Nixeus Vue24A. It's an excellent monitor. 1ms, 144hz refresh rate, and freesync (if you're an AMD guy) I bought it for $280 but it looks like the price went up to $350 D:

u/astrnght_mike_dexter · 2 pointsr/buildapc

I'm pretty sure this is the best one you can get for around $300 right now as long as you're using an AMD graphics card. http://www.amazon.com/Nixeus-1920x1080-Adaptive-Sync-Widescreen-NX-VUE24A/dp/B0131PBN6U

The XL2411Z and VG248QE are pretty much the same except don't have freesync.

edit: both are on the limit of my budget, to make it clear, im not looking for perfect colors or contrast, what i want are fast and crisp frames that let me play as competitive as possible.

Phenomenal monitor for the price.

Nixeus VUE-24A

u/iiTz_SteveO · 2 pointsr/Amd

I would personally recommend the Nixeus Vue 24. Best 1080 monitor I have ever purchased. I play "competitively" so having 144Hz is great! Plus it is FreeSync as well!

u/Kitsano · 2 pointsr/buildapc

I am using these two monitors,

Monitor1

Monitor2

The first one is connected via Displayport and the second one is connected using an adapter + VGA cable. The cables are both around 6 feet I believe.

u/R-A-S-0 · 2 pointsr/buildapc

Honestly, that's not a bad monitor. I don't think you'd see much of a visual improvement with any modern 1080p monitor.

120-144hz is always a worthwhile upgrade in my opinion, especially in games like CSGO and DOTA2. Something like this Asus would do the job nicely.

I would stay at 1080p as your system will have a hard time running most games at a higher resolution.

Edit: I totally forgot about Freesync! If you get a new monitor, definitely get one with Freesync; I use G-Sync on a daily basis and it's amazing. This looks to be a good one

u/Endyo · 2 pointsr/DealsReddit

I got the Niexus Vue 24" a little while back for something like $225, or at least it was on sale for $225 at one point, though that may have been the one with the less-cool stand. I didn't know there were any others on the market near that price. Nixeus isn't a brand I knew, but the reviews are solid and I've enjoyed it thoroughly.

I'm not picking up a 4k monitor until I can get a one that does all the same stuff my current one does for about the same price. By then 4k will probably be more commonplace and I won't have to also drop twice as much on video card(s) to even make a high refresh monitor worth it.

u/Redditzol · 1 pointr/buildapc

Im between that one and this one:
http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0131PBN6U?psc=1&redirect=true&ref_=ox_sc_act_title_1&smid=APUR2MHW28P9F
The problem with the one you say is that it's been sold for as low as 300, I would automatically buy it at that price. But I cannot see it lower than 450

This usually goes ok with many games (exept it, you know, goes black for a good 3 sec) and comes back exept for AC odyssey which crashes. I have reinstalled the gpu card (gtx 1070) drivers which doesn't change anything.

i currently have an r9 280 and am thinking of upgrading to one of the newer GPUs within the next 1-2 months. should i purchase a 1080p/144hz right now and reap the benefits or wait until i get a new GPU, see how it'll handle higher resolutions/frame rates, and buy a 1440p/144hz?

here's two monitors i'm currently thinking of buying:

u/LoneKrafayis · 1 pointr/buildapc

Best always means expensive. Freesync monitors help reduce latency, so you want Freesync in your gaming monitor. 144Hz monitors are hot right now, so they are expensive. The Nixeus NX-VUE24A is good and it cost less then most at $265. (It is a 1080p TN panel.)

If you're getting a 1080p Freesync monitor, then THIS is the one I recommend.

You can save a further $30 by getting the one with the "simple" stand, HERE.

I've used this monitor, and it is by far the best one for the price, and better than some monitors that are much more expensive.

u/Mirelurking123 · 1 pointr/buildapc

If you have a amd gpu more then likely the Acer one would be better might I also recommend https://www.amazon.com/Nixeus-1920x1080-Adaptive-Sync-Widescreen-NX-VUE24A/dp/B0131PBN6U if you can spend 30 more it has a good free sync range 30 to 144 which is what you should be looking for if you care about free sync if you dont care I heard good things about the Acer monitors jayztwocents did a video about his a few years ago if I recall. If you have a Nivida gpu should try to look for a screen without free sync I heard about the gpus acting oddly with free sync monitors a guy named joker productions made a video about it if your curious anyways enough rambling from me best of luck.

u/RoboTicks · 1 pointr/buildapcsales

It's not listed anywhere on that page, but this monitor uses a TN panel rather than an IPS panel.

If it were an IPS panel, I would buy this for sure.

Also: Looks like the 'newer' version of this monitor: http://www.amazon.com/dp/B0131PBN6U/ref=psdc_1292115011_t1_B013CRPUBQ

Not sure what the differences are, but the model numbers are 1 character off.

u/MrShiftyCloak · 1 pointr/buildapc

Okay so your build can probably run a lot of games at 1440p. I'm really no expert but I have been doing some research as I will be shopping for a new monitor soon. Check out 144hzmonitors it has some pretty good options and might help you decide. They have a 24inch with freesync that might fit your needs and budget. But you could also probably use a 27inch non freesync monitor as well. Wish I could be of more help but I'm in a similar boat as you.

This is a good price. But if OP is particularly interested in frequency response, something like this may be a good option to consider, if price is less of an issue. It's a little larger, plus it has freesync and can max at 144hz.

u/Teethpasta · 1 pointr/buildapcsales

This is the best one around. Great company too with a reddit presence. https://www.amazon.com/Nixeus-1920x1080-Adaptive-Sync-Widescreen-NX-VUE24A/dp/B0131PBN6U

u/storm_bow · 1 pointr/buildapc

These are benchmarks for an rx470 4gb on Overwatch medium settings. It'd mostly be above 144hz (which is more common of a standard than 120hz btw) and so the 570 should have no problem squeezing the extra needed frames out.

I'd recommend this gpu and this monitor. It doesn't have any red on it and it has a nice stand. Also the best freesync range of 30-144hz, which will also pair nicely with the gpu. You can save $40 here though if you want go with another 144hz 24in monitor, but I'd highly recommend keeping the freesync.

As does FreeSync (but it's slightly different as it's baked into the DisplayPort 1.2a standard as opposed to needing a module from NVIDIA). However, FreeSync monitors tend to be considerably more affordable (and therefore there tends to be a larger pool to pick from), here's a recent 144Hz monitor with a FreeSync range from 30-144Hz. Quite a damn deal considering its price is well within breathing distance to something like ASUS' VG248QE.

Gsync is worse in every way compared to freesync, and the nvidia GPUs only pull ahead with Gameworks, an nVidia technology. AMD is a better bundle this year, and next year will have even more freesync monitors.
