Ah. re: they never sprouted, maybe your room was too cold, or you didn't soak them long enough in the initial soak?
re: 1cup, that just depends on how much you want to make. I actually use 2 or 3 cups, but then I put it in a half gallon sprouting jar. The amount of seeds you use is just relative to how much water you're going to use. You just want to use a 1:3-4 ratio of seeds:water. I learned from this recipe
