Considering it's on sale I think it's a decent price. However, at the regular price I wouldn't recommend maize starch as its advantages aren't worth the high additional cost.

The advantage of malto in comparison to dextrose is that it's quite neutral whilst dextrose adds a lot of sweetness, especially if use doses higher than 30g.
