Bought three "Oontz Angel 3" for different people for Christmas. All three sounded great. Relatively inexpensive $29.99 USD. I have a Jambox from Jawbone that was three times more and sounds the same. It has a built in Mic as well. Nice little piece of tech.

u/yeungjedi · 13 pointsr/buildapcsales

Which is better, this speaker or this one? I came across the latter when browsing for the Jambox on Amazon, and they are very similar in price

I love my home gym so much! No regrets.

DO:

  • Get stall mats from Tractor Supply.

  • Get a bluetooth speaker (this one is great!)

  • Keep some cleaning supplies in the space. I find a damp mop cleans up the stall mats really well. I personally like my gym to look clean and pretty.

  • Have your workout posted somewhere. We've got a giant cork board with different workouts posted.

    DON'T:

  • Buy equipment you've never used in a gym before. (at least at first)

  • Forget to include a fan. Especially if your gym isn't air conditioned!

  • Leave out decorations, if you're into that. Plants, artwork, so on... I love those little details. Mr. Kate on Youtube did a good episode on their home gym; they kind of drive me nuts, but their gym is a total haven. this episode

I worked in a hair salon -- I FEEL YOU.

I had a LOT of fabric in my room to dampen/absorb sound. I had an oontz bluetooth speaker pointed at the space under the door where sound traveled and it worked amazingly. I had it synced with my iphone and I had downloaded the WhiteNoise app, which let me mix sounds (I had crashing waves, rain, and a creek).

I had a second oontz speaker synced to my ipad playing massage music, and it was secured under the table close to the face cradle - so my music didn't have to be loud, since it was so close to their head.

edit: if the walls don't go up all the way to ceiling, can you ask the manager/landlord/whoever if you can fill the space with styrofoam blocks covered with fabric or something?

u/entheox · 5 pointsr/amazonecho

This is the Bluetooth speaker I got with my Echo Dot. It's a $100 speaker on sale for $27.99 right now. Works great, and I've had no complaints with it so far:

https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B010OYASRG

u/HoboTeddy · 5 pointsr/engineering

Is that the Oontz Angle 3? If so, it's $26 on Amazon and buying a new one is almost certainly your cheapest and fastest option to getting this fixed.

u/scrappythrowaway43 · 3 pointsr/ADHD

I solved this problem by playing a long song during my shower and committing to finishing by the end of the song. It should also, ideally, be an intense song. The Call of Ktulu by Mettalica is my go-to.

And here's the water-resistant Bluetooth speaker I use.

This page is a good start.

I recommend something with a i3 or m3 core/CPU. I'd also recommend a larger 15 inch screen with 1080p resolution for better video experience. Anything with 1tb or 500gb storage space are using spinning drives which are slower but you cant get high capacity SSD at this price range. And I dont think you are comfortable with taking the laptop apart and installing one your self?
Looks to me like the Acer Aspire E 15 (E5-575-33BM) and Asus F556UA-AB32 are the best bet. For my money I'd say the Acer.

Now since you are a couple who can share laptops I would recommend getting a very different 2nd laptop. Previous recs are heavy beast and you'll be better off leaving it at your new home and taking a smaller light machine for the road. Your back will thank you.

The Lenovo IdeaPad Miix 320 OR Lenovo ThinkPad 13 (2017) are both good options. Both has a smaller 128 gb SSD, Which will be a boon because they are much more shock resistant, spinning drives dont like long rides on bumpy roads much, just dont load that full of big movies. Neither have very exceptional processors, but you dont need that much for what think you'll be using it for, if you need to Photoshop or edit videos use the big one.

The second option, the Thinkpad, has a larger screen with higher resolution, but is also larger and heavier. The first option is smaller but lighter. Its actually a tablet (about the size of an iPad) that can detach from the keyboard dock, nice for reading in bed.

Overall for the second laptop the Thinkpad (2nd) is a better computer overall but the Ideapad(1st) might be better for your use case because you have a second laptop with a larger screen, processor, and storage.

You can set up separate accounts for each person on each laptop so you'll have your privacy.

Everything recommended will have unexceptional(at best) speakers, so consider grabbing a bluetooth speaker from Amazon. You can plug in the audio jack when at your desk or connect it by bluetooth to your phone or laptop to have some music around the house or at a picnic. This is what i use. https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B010OYASRG

u/somanywolverines · 3 pointsr/CFBOffTopic

Get this one! I've had it for a few months now and could not recommend it more highly. Only $28 too.

u/rcookerly · 3 pointsr/amazonecho

Dude, this is the one to get. It sounds like a $100 Bluetooth speaker but it's only $27.99 on Amazon right now! It's their #1 seller. I currently have it plugged into the wall and into my Amazon Echo Dot. It never shuts off. The damn thing is incredible. Trust me, you won't regret it. OontZ Angle 3

u/josecouvi · 3 pointsr/nexus6

I got one of these , and I'm pretty happy with it. It's got pretty great sound and it's pretty loud. Great speaker, especially for the price.

u/sbeckas · 2 pointsr/amazonecho

Learned about this inexpensive speaker $28.00 adequate for me.

I'd give this a go. Seems to be pretty popular and well reviewed. I can't imagine much else with that budget.

u/MaviePhresh · 2 pointsr/gadgets

You can get a pretty nice one for $200. You can get a decent one in the $40 range that will suite your needs. I've had the Oontz angle and it's plenty loud and works fine. But you could spring for the JBL Flip which is really quite nice.

u/PopWhatMagnitude · 2 pointsr/CrappyDesign

It was this one by the way OontZ Angle 3.

Not sure if mine was gen 3 or not, my dad still uses it, but I upgraded because after like a year of full volume bass heavy songs I could just start to hear one of the speakers starting to go. But it's so slight my dad doesn't even hear it.

I'd set it on a little wash cloth or something if I needed to make it stay put.

I personally use the Vaux speaker for the dot. Sound is ok not great. Good enough for podcasts and kitchen music it uses the aux cable. I don't have an echo to compare sound quality. Having the battery powered dot and speaker is nice. I use it way more than expected. The Vaux also has an additional aux in for plugging in another device. Haven't had much use for the additional aux in.

I also got taotronics 4.0 Bluetooth receiver for my existing stereo in the adjoining room. Pretty cool that it has an optical out and can be paired with more than one device. I can then route the audio to the stereo by saying "Alexa connect to speaker".

The Oontz angle series speakers are bad, a bit boomy though. However it is an option.

I was hoping if be able to do this with my receiver, but it just wasn't possible. I ended up buying a cheaper Bluetooth speaker and it gets the job done perfectly running Spotify on my phone. Might be your best option as well

There are some very well built and cheap waterproof speakers for literally $30 that get loud. I'm pretty sure that extra $200 is just profit.

EDIT: here's the one

u/IdyllwildGal · 2 pointsr/blogsnark

I have this Oontz Angle speaker that I use to listen to music while I'm working. The sound is great, and it was under $30. The only thing I don't like about it is that when it needs to be recharged, it just shuts off -- no warning. But for the price, it's a great little speaker.

u/cH3x · 1 pointr/amazonecho

I leave my Oontz Angle 3 on all the time (https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B010OYASRG/), connected to my Dot via bluetooth. Works great.

u/andypandyfosho · 1 pointr/Arcade1Up

After modding my cabinet (ETA Prime Mod). I didn't want to use the stock speaker so I ended up buying this wireless Bluetooth speaker.

https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B010OYASRG/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o00_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1

I plugged it in with a standard aux cord into the HDMI board and it works perfectly. I have it mounted on top of the cabinet low enough where it is not visible.

u/kushwonderland · 1 pointr/amazonecho

I had to also get one of these to have it be loud enough to be heard in the shower.

u/dolphicorn · 1 pointr/amazonecho

I have mine paired with the Oontz Angle 3 (https://www.amazon.com/dp/B010OYASRG/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_avjzyb8XN0XST) which is about 30 bucks and it works great. You can leave it plugged in all the time if you'd like, but the included cable is only a few inches long so it must be close to its power supply.

I can't imagine grandma cares much about audio quality. If I were to go a cheap route that gets the job done, these two would probably be it.

u/draavk · 1 pointr/amazonecho

I would say you need more information.

Is he an audiophile? Is he looking for something that plays in multiple places through out his house (like a Sonos?)

I would look towards something like what's showing up here:
List Of Amazon wireless speakers

Because honestly, some of those in the articles listed by others may be complete overkill.

The OontZ looks really nice - I might get one based on the feedback I'm reading there.

u/bohoky · 1 pointr/googlehome

Nope you can't. There are plenty of small speakers out there that do have an aux-in and would be comparable in sound quality.

The first search I made gave me this generic speaker on Amazon for US$26. That's not a recommendation, just an example (and that's not an affiliate link which would make me money from the two of you that might click it).

u/DobieG1970 · 1 pointr/amazonecho

I'm very happy with this:

It has good range and great sound and can resist dust & splashes. Search Amazon for OontZ Angle and you will find some other options that might suit your needs better. :)

The Oontz from Cambridge Soundworks is pretty good, despite the stupid name: https://www.amazon.com/Cambridge-SoundWorks-OontZ-Angle-Generation/dp/B010OYASRG

u/courageousrobot · 1 pointr/pelotoncycle

Many BT speakers have aux plugins as well.

I use https://www.amazon.com/Enhanced-Splashproof-Portable-Bluetooth-Radiator/dp/B010OYASRG/ with my Peloton, and plug the aux cable right into the headphone jack.

It fits nicely in the water bottle holder and sounds fantastic, way better than the built in speaker, and doesn't suffer from any audio delay. Battery lasts freaking forever too.

u/Beer_me_pls · 1 pointr/raspberry_pi

My budget was somewhat limited but have really enjoyed my Oontz Angle. Good battery life, sound quality and aesthetically pleasing. Will test it out once my pi3 arrives :)

Cambridge Soundworks OONTZ Angle 3

I got one of these and its the most sound you can buy at that price point in this form factor from a reputable design house. Supports both Bluetooth and 3.5mm

u/ThickDiggerNick · 1 pointr/KitchenConfidential

just search on amazon 'waterproof speaker' and sort by price/ratings really. I see this one right now seems probably worth it based on price and 31k reviews.

u/andonato · 1 pointr/AskTechnology

I can't speak to the battery issue, but I have been very pleased with this speaker. Good sound and battery life and it's also water resistant. https://www.amazon.com/dp/B010OYASRG/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_JkKkzbC1KVQWV

This has done me pretty well. As loud and as good/better quality than my brother's JBL. And only 20 bucks.

u/Silvertonebass96 · 1 pointr/amazonecho

The echo dot was my first product in the smart home world and it's still my only hub. I love it! I wasn't using it to it's full potential at first, only using it to play music while I was home but now it controls my smart tv, some lights, and my security camera.

It SUCKS as a speaker. In fact I never play music directly through it. It's paired to an awesome bluetooth speaker I have. It's not made as a speaker so don't fool yourself with that. But if you want to get into smart home products this is the perfect way to start.

It's kind of like getting a 4k tv. You get the tv first before you pay for 4k games, cable, etc. Sure you're not using it to it's fullest potential but it has limitless room to grow! If you do it the other way around you're wasting money with no incentive to ever fully upgrade.

TLDR; Don't get it to use as a speaker. That's not what it's made for and it shows. If you want a speaker get this .
However if you want to get into smart home things this is a perfect opportunity.

u/Hrafnstrom · 1 pointr/AskTechnology

Thank you! I've considered Z120s as well as some other Logitech speakers, they do have good options. The problem is, I sometimes use my laptop away from my desk, like in my bed, that's when wirelessness comes in handy. Also, I might use it the my kitchen too from time to time. So, yes, I won't be using bluetooth features always but, in my case, it is a must.

And what do you think of Anker Soundcore or Cambridge Soundworks?

u/Umlautica · 1 pointr/audiophile

A turntable used for travel is a bit tough. I don't think that many are made, with the exception of Crosley which has a pretty bad reputation.

If portability and cost were the two main factors I would probably grab one of these and a portable speaker. I have no idea how good/bad these products are but that's where I would start.

u/grim_melee · 1 pointr/bikecommuting

I use the Oontz Angle which sits easily in the middle of my panniers on top of my rear rack. I usually have it on full volume or close. It makes the commute that much better because it does give me a rhythm while I bike.

u/Zone20A · 1 pointr/googlehome

I recommend the OontZ Angle. They provide pretty decent amount for the price. Also you wouldn't need a Bluetooth aux adapter - simply pair your new speaker with your mini.

https://www.amazon.com/Enhanced-Splashproof-Portable-Bluetooth-Radiator/dp/B010OYASRG/ref=mp_s_a_1_3?keywords=oontz+angle&qid=1565273389&s=gateway&sr=8-3

Bruh, just get a cheap waterproof Bluetooth speaker. I can't shower without listening to something anymore, so it's definitely a good investment. This is the one I got:

I paired this speaker with a Chromecast Audio and it has surprisingly great audio, definately much better than GH: https://www.amazon.com/Cambridge-SoundWorks-OontZ-Angle-Generation/dp/B010OYASRG/ref=sr_1_fkmr0_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1496190207&sr=8-1-fkmr0&keywords=omtz+speaker

This setup worked out very well, now I can cast my hacks to GH without interrupting music playback, e.g. Announce Incoming Calls, Text Messages, and Notifications.
