It doesn't have gold, but everyone here in Japan swears by this Camellia oil, and I've had good results with it. Cheaper than Tatcha by leaps and bounds.

I also just have ~many feelings~ about Tatcha because they're not a Japanese brand, not owned by a Japanese individual/conglomerate and use Japan as a prop. Their founder's bullshit story about finding a book of ~ancient geisha beauty secrets~ just makes my eyes roll into the back of my head. Literally everything Tacha peddles has been sold and marketed in Japan by Japanese brands for years...and at a fraction of the price. (Especially the stuff from the Kyoto cosmetics brands.)

If this (http://www.amazon.com/Oshima-Tsubaki-Camellia-Hair-Care/dp/B0022NHBFK) is the one you bought, you can use it for your face and body as well. I have the same one and mine came with an instruction booklet telling you how many drops you should use for application on the skin. Yours should have that booklet too!

This is the one I use. It says "hair oil," but it's pure tsubaki, so there's nothing hair or skin specific in it.

For Japanese products, my favourites are Biore sunscreens, Melano CC, Meishoku Detclear Peeling Jelly (unscented/citrus/berry available, pretty cute packaging) and Oshima Tsubaki (Japanese camellia) oil for the hair, although it can be used for the face as well.

Canmake and Majolica Majorca have very nice packaging, although the products may be a bit hit or miss for some. Their eye makeup work well enough for me.

yeah and theirs is just a mix of filler oils and essential oils! Garbage if you ask me. And 46 dollars for 1.7 ounces, are they out of their minds?!

I buy oshima tsubaki oil because it's cold pressed and apparently the best selling in japan...but I could easily buy plain knife oil if it weren't for the pretty bottle this one came in :D

Side note -
do you know the diference between something like this
and something like this, aside from the price?
