Panasonic 50" 8UK series commercial display here, it weighs if I remember correctly, 90lbs. It's been on my wall since late 2005, though, so who cares how much it weighs? The only thing newer TVs have over mine are inputs, "features," and higher resolution. The 8UK series was the last of the sub-80 inch Panasonics that were built in Japan before they moved production to Mexico.
It still has the most beautiful color in our house. I have a Retina Macbook Pro, a high-end 27" LCD monitor, and a couple of consumer LCD TVs that are all several years newer, and none of them can match the movie-viewing pleasure of my best entertainment investment ever. The only problem is that it doesn't have HDMI, and nothing is sold today with component inputs. I should have spent the extra $200 on the hdmi terminal board. What's $200 on a $3000 TV?
