You must not know about the internet. Its a magical place where you can order products, and have them shipped to your door. Sometimes cheaper than the stores too! try it sometime

I ended up preordering [this one] (https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B01MS7AI9G/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o00_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1). It's simple and while it has the little patch on it, it doesn't exactly scream, "HEY EVERYONE I HAVE A NINTENDO SWITCH IN HERE". I honestly can't wait to travel on a plane with the Switch.

u/Gariond · 10 pointsr/NintendoSwitch

Hey /r/NintendoSwitch, I've been using a packing cube for traveling with my switch, and wanted to share how well it's worked for me. I keep most of this stuff together as a "go bag" and it's really helped keep all my stuff organized. It has made it really easy to just grab this and go, I highly recommend.

With it I've been able to pack all of this into a single pack, about 3/4ths the size of a shoebox:

  • My Nintendo Switch (w/ Joy-Con attached)
  • A Small Switch Case
  • Three additional pairs of Joy-Con
  • Two Pro Controllers
  • Two of extra Joy-Con straps (for set attached to Switch)
  • Nintendo Switch Dock Set (TV dock, power cable, usb c-to a charging cable)
  • HDMI cable

I photoshopped out the label from the brand for the cube, because I didn't want this to look like hailcorporate material (I put a link below). This cube is approx 11" x 7" x 5" ( 28 x 18 x 13 cm) and ends up fitting all of this snugly, so I'd recommend trying similar dimensions if you give it a shot. It actually fits so perfectly that I have barely any shifting of the contents. I also find that it doesn't put any strain on my switch itself, however it's typically not in the bag. This one has loops on the sides, so I used cable ties to keep the cords organized, an added bonus.

The cube is a Patagonia "Black Hole Cube 6-L", but any other brand's cube of similar size would probably work out fine. Being able to include a case was a must, the Nintendo Switch Premium Travel Case for Console and Games" by PDP is a *perfect* fit, however it's not my preferred case.

It's been a really nice travel option for me, so I figured I'd share.
u/MetaRyan25 · 7 pointsr/NintendoSwitch

Thanks OP. I had already preordered this case, but after seeing your case, I did some research, and I ended up cancelling my preorder of the PDP case and preordered the case you got.

u/knightfader · 6 pointsr/NintendoSwitch

Besides the console and Zelda: BOTW which I both have preordered, I plan to buy the PDP console case and a tablet mount so I can hang the tablet from my bedframe while I play. Because lazy.

u/Hippobu2 · 6 pointsr/NintendoSwitch

Personally, for me, I believe that the best case is the Sheikah Slate that comes with BotW SE. EB and Best Buy both said that they will have it, so be on the look out for them, cuz amazon is out.

The same case, with different designs, is made by PDP. You can get them via these links: 1, 2, 3, 4.

This one is quite close to the Sheikah Slate as well, but it doesn't ship to where I am, so I'm not sure it would ship to you.

PDP also has this amazing looking soft canvas cases if you're interested: 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6.

You could also go with Hori hard case, which is ugly af, but looks extremely sturdy. But then the actual case from Nintendo (it's not available yet, just wait for it I guess?) is quite close to the Hori one as well, I guess.

I'm throwing all those links at you, because, I have NO idea who Biogenik are and a quick Google doesn't result in anything positive about them.

As for screen protector, for me generally, any film protector would make the screen look worse. They are also a lot more likely to get scratches than the screen alone. I'd recommend a tempered glass screen protector if you get one at all. Here are some, one from Orzly, and one from CaseBase. Orzly seems like the better choice since you get 2, and their other tempered glass protectors are very highly rated.

u/GooseRider960 · 5 pointsr/NintendoSwitch

Reposting this because it got buried in the last thread.

I need help on deciding a case. I've narrowed it down to four, but I suppose if none of them are great, I could go for a fifth option.

Protection is a big thing here, so if any of these are flimsy, let me know.

PDP Nintendo Switch Premium Console Case

Orzly Carry Case for Nintendo Switch

While I like the portability the smaller ones have, the big one being able to carry everything is a big bonus. Protection is a huge factor too.

u/STUNT1990 · 5 pointsr/nintendo

Not sure but this is PDP's Switch "case" (also on BotW version) and, by the looks of it, it's just a semi rigid pouch.

I'm probably getting this one once I can see it in person or a nice review; it looks like it will have some kind of foam (as shoulder buttons would tilt the switch and yet it seems to be in a horizontal position) and I think it's made by the same company as a pretty similar looking NES mini case.

u/butt-guy · 5 pointsr/NintendoSwitch

Man...I'm a big fan of the PDP premium gray case. But I'm pretty excited to see what Waterfield comes up with because a leather case sounds dope. Too bad it'll cost at least $60 though.

u/rectagonal · 4 pointsr/NintendoSwitch

PDP has some officially licensed ones you will likely want to check out.

Probably going to use this to store my Switch in my existing messenger bag: https://www.amazon.com/PDP-Nintendo-Switch-Premium-Console-Case/dp/B01MS7AI9G/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1485282854&sr=8-1&keywords=pdp+nintendo+switch+case

u/jessefpotter · 3 pointsr/NintendoSwitch

That looks nice. I'm also a big fan of this one: https://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B01MS7AI9G

u/JacobJonesReddit · 3 pointsr/NintendoSwitch

The official(?) case is good. It has a Mario themed design. It has fabric slots to hold 14 games. Holds a Switch with Joycon attached and it has a pouch for accessories, would definitely fit your 2 extra Joycon. $15 on Amazon.

u/blaaguuu · 3 pointsr/NintendoSwitch

I think they are referring to this case by a company called PDP:

https://www.amazon.com/PDP-Nintendo-Switch-Premium-Console-Case/dp/B01MS7AI9G/

u/RangersCrusader · 3 pointsr/NintendoSwitch

I already got this baby pre-ordered. Pdp also has a stylish switch backpack for $50 but that's too expensive for me.

u/DNA_ligation · 2 pointsr/NintendoSwitch

I have this case that I will just put in a backpack-style purse that looks like this. The case is a bit bulky, but I don't usually carry too much other than my wallet, phone and keys. If you are lacking space, then maybe you can find a cute makeup bag to put your switch in? Otherwise, I'd recommend at least getting a screen protector for it.

u/martinskrtel · 2 pointsr/NintendoSwitch

this guy goes through some thoughts! particularly about good SD cards and the Pro Controller and JoyCon accessories.

https://youtu.be/v8U58MaSu4U

i want to get a nice case, which is important when throwing it in your backpack. i have this for the 3DS XL and am looking forward to a nifty upgrade for the Switch. i don't even plan on buying physical games (if the price is right) so maybe one without game slots would be sleeker. this one looks quite good and comes with a screen protector, that's from Play Asia. as mentioned in the video i linked, a company called RDS Industries is also doing some good looking cases

u/Veetea · 2 pointsr/NintendoSwitch

My list for launch is:

  • Pro Controller
  • Samsung EVO mSDXC card (200 - 256GB)
  • This particular carrying case

I might impulse buy a set of red and blue neon Joy-Cons if I see 'em floating around at launch, but I don't think they'll be essential accessories right off the bat -- between the Pro Controller and included Joy-Cons, that's three controllers right there.
u/soulctcher · 2 pointsr/EDC

Thanks! The Switch case is [this one] (https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01MS7AI9G/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_zYK-yb3N0G6J7). I got it due to it's compact nature, plus it comes with 14 cartridge pockets. So far, no complaints about it.

u/Orbit89 · 2 pointsr/NintendoSwitch

I'm getting this one from amazon it holds the switch itself on top of 14 games so I can bring them anywhere easily

u/mattdel190 · 2 pointsr/NintendoSwitch

I bought this one - Nintendo Switch Premium Console Case https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01MS7AI9G/ref=cm_sw_r_sms_c_api_aq0mzbC2BTEF5
Not too impressed with the quality of inside the case.

u/Dain42 · 2 pointsr/nintendo

I tend to think that screen protectors are generally unnecessary on glass devices. There's a chance that in the case of impact on the screen, it might save your device, but it's a pretty limited range of impacts that will shatter a glass screen protector but not the screen itself.

As far as scratches go, I'm on my third smartphone at this point, and before that I had an original iPod touch. On all those devices, the only one I've ever managed to scratch at all is the iPod. And even that was a tiny scratch.

I am relatively careful with my phones (I don't shove them in my pocket with my keys like a monster, for example), but I'm not doing anything that I see as being out of the ordinary, either. I use them, and I take them with me just about everywhere (including day hikes); I just don't abuse them.

I also oversee a 1:1 iPad deployment at work, where we give them to high school students. A lot of ours are in Otterboxes that we provide which cover the screens, but we have a fair number that aren't (and the first year we did it, we used a different case). I've only seen a very very few of those that kids managed to scratch. And they're rough on things. (We do have a moderate number of broken screens each year, but these are careless high schoolers.) Even on our iPads in carts at the elementary and middle schools, where I've seen glitter and art supplies and various other things on the screens, I don't think I've seen any scratches (and we've had no broken ones). So take that for what it's worth.

I think that if you get an inexpensive case for the Switch for when it's riding around in your bags or when it's not in use, it'll probably be fine.

u/CombustibleToast · 2 pointsr/Switch

I have this case and it works great.

u/drKRB · 2 pointsr/NintendoSwitch

OP UPDATE: 🔥Price Drop 🔥 to $14.99 on this case at this link: PDP Nintendo Switch Premium Console Case https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01MS7AI9G/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_f0UEybDAS05RW note: just for case only, not kit

u/Tallyburger · 1 pointr/AmiiboCanada

The Switch case I have has space for like, 14 cartridges. But I'm not a fan of how it is, so I got a separate case for them instead. Which is a first for me, since my DS and 3DS games were in the system case... but I think I prefer separate. I have a habit of opening my 3DS case to fast, and having the cartridges falling out lol

u/-LazyNinja- · 1 pointr/NintendoSwitch

it's a bag so I assume there's room for it either way

however, the grips are really small, I think most cases should have spare room for it (even the PDP one)

whoops, thought about the straps, nvm

u/TheLawlessMan · 1 pointr/NintendoSwitch

There is a normal version of that one but unfortunately orders made from this point on may not come at launch.

u/LamppostInfiltrator · 1 pointr/NintendoSwitch

I currently have a set of blue joycons, the charging grip, the screen protection kit, and this case preordered. Will likely get a pro controller, too when they go up for preorder.

u/TyranoMike · 1 pointr/NintendoSwitch

I really like the Pdp switch case. It's 15 dollars on Amazon and it has a really clean look to it.

I'd send a cleaner link but I'm on mobile. As for now:

I chose this one:
https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B01MS7AI9G/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o00_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1

  1. I like the design

  2. Fits the Switch with Joy-Cons attached

  3. Storage for game cards
u/MentalPackage · 1 pointr/NintendoSwitch

Get him a screen protector, any that say they are "tempered glass" should be good.

Gte him a carrying case, I've got this one, it's good enough and portable https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B01MS7AI9G/

Get him the 2 games you know he wants, then get him a gift $50 (or higher) eShop card if you don't mind spending the money.

If you want to really impress, and you haven't gone broke yet, get him a Pro Controller as well, you guys can play together more comfortably too, you with the two joycons, him with his pro controller https://www.amazon.com/Nintendo-Switch-Pro-Controller/dp/B01NAWKYZ0/

Oooh, and a Micro SD card, at LEAST 128GB ($20) or higher https://www.amazon.com/SanDisk-400GB-microSDXC-Memory-Adapter/dp/B073JYC4XM/

Let him open it first, and run the updates and set it all up, to me, and as a result, my kids too, it's part of the fun of getting a new electronic toy.

u/p1_tjc · 1 pointr/NintendoSwitch

Oops, sorry! I thought the link would be helpful in that you could see some options and be able to choose the right one for you. I personally purchased this case and I'm very happy w/ it. It was really well priced for the quality and it looks really slick. It's soft, but it does well to protect the switch. I dropped mine in the case twice now (I'm clumsy :/) but the console remained in perfect condition. It also comes w/ 14 game slots, if you buy physical.

u/justavault · 1 pointr/gaming

> Look online at a store nintendo DOES NOT sell SD cards. They miiight license some third party ones I suppose but why would they prevent another company from selling SD cards they've verified work with their system?

It is a SD card, chief. There exists no "incompatible". It's just a label to rip off customers who do not have the technical knowledge to realize that any SD card is fuckin the same if the speed class matches, no matter the label you put on. A class 6 SD card is the same, no matter if you pay 30 bucks on top because there is a Nintendo label on it.

>Also dude just because a copper spike aggressively scratching a screen will scratch it doesn't mean a round fucking penny will. It's not a scratch off lottery it's a fucking screen. As the video says plastic is a better choice because it avoids cracking which is way more likely than scratching given the usage.

What did I expect? Of course, a fanboy will react with denial of reality - the tester must have "aggressively tried to scratch it" - subjectivity is to be expected by any opponent of my fanboyism.

A penny is pretty sharp on the edge unless it has seen some decades and it was just an example for an everyday item that can easily scratch the device's screen, because it is so soft. You know, to do the transfer of using exemplary items in a rethorical way is kind of expected in a conversation.

There are a multitude of items that will scratch a 3moh screen in your pocket. Like say a metal pen thrown into your backpack, or keys in your purse. Man even a knob could potentially do this if the angle is right.

> As the video says plastic is a better choice because it avoids cracking which is way more likely than scratching given the usage.

Jerry is making a quick assumption, not a sufficiently profound argument here. The Switch is not really shock resistant considering its built and especially compared to gorilla glass 5+, but I expect you to deny this without me linking another video that would show this. (unless me, you, the fanboy, does not have the obligation to proof your points right? You just need to say "no" and all is right)

Plastic does in no way "avoid" cracking, chief. You live in a very awesome world if that does or you should immediately inform Apple about this insight.

>Oh and there are third party cases along with some very small effective cases from Nintendo I'm not sure what you're going on about with cases.

Why don't you link me those cases? And with case I mean a wrap, not a pouch/bag. Instead, you typically fanboying and simply "mentioning it" without linking further proof.

But, I made the research for you. The smallest bag I found on amazon is this. Though, the argument remains, put in their, that thing is not much more portable than a PS4 slim as both require a bag unless you really walk around with "just" a Swatch in your hands, because this does not fit in your pockets... which would be a very funny picture.

With cases we are more talking something like this - you know something that adds protection without adding a lot of bulge - this does not exist because, as aforementioned the used plastic will melt everything away.

So, again, Nintendo is ripping you off with every little Nintendo sticker they put on anywhere including the switch itself. It is a sub par piece of hardware and we are not talking about the games, just about the Nintendo management responsible for the business decisions and those exude greed.

u/TheRealLimitlessHate · 1 pointr/Switch

Yes, you absolutely need a tempered glass screen protector. The Switch screen is plastic and is tough to shatter but easy to scratch. A microSD card is also a necessity, but avoid cards advertised as being specifically for the Switch as there's no difference between them and cheaper unlicensed cards.

A carrying case is similarly recommended. Don't just throw your switch in your backpack or day bag or whatever. I like this one for its capacity for 14 cartridges: https://www.amazon.com/Nintendo-Switch-Premium-Travel-Console-Games/dp/B01MS7AI9G?th=1

The Pro Controller is probably the best new console controller since the 360 pad. It's incredibly high-quality and its built-in 3DS battery (yeah, really) will keep a charge for a staggeringly long time. If the price tag is too much, the PDP Mario/Zelda/etc. wired controllers have reviewed well.

Sweet design, looks thought out.

I'm going for this though, can't agree with leather:

Link tunic case can hold 12 game cards and PDP case can hold 14.

u/Supertimtendo · 1 pointr/NintendoSwitch

I just prefer soft cases, idk why but its just a preference. The semi-hard ones that are somewhat flexible are ok too, but they are usually more expensive or bulkier. Also I found one that's cheap, soft, and can hold 14 game cases. https://www.amazon.com/Nintendo-Switch-Premium-Travel-Console-Games/dp/B01MS7AI9G

Also soft cases are more flexible and in my case (no pun intended) I need flexible bc the room in my backpack isn't very roomy.

u/-ItWasntMe- · 1 pointr/nintendo

I found this one on Amazon US.
There's another one that is grey with Nintendo Switch written on it, but it doesn't contain the earbuds, the joy-con rubber covers and the stick grips.

u/carldude · 1 pointr/NintendoSwitch

I'm definitely a fan of this case:

I like that grey material, it should suit the grey Switch well.

u/FatAngryDude · 1 pointr/NintendoSwitchDeals

I really wanted that case cause after doing some math the case looked like it would be a good deal to go for the Special Ed. but now with items slowly appearing since release, I think I'll pass and get one of the ones from PDP that look clean, specifically this one, that looks very clean looking and doesn't advertise to the world "Hey! I have a $300+ device on me!"

u/PM_ME_REINHARDT_R34 · 0 pointsr/NintendoSwitch

Hey guys, 3 quick questions.

1: Are there any issues with the PDP Nintendo Switch Premium Travel Case? The system seems to be placed in a pouch of sorts, which worries me (joystick damage seems inevitable with this). The case can be seen here:

https://www.amazon.com/Nintendo-Switch-Premium-Travel-Console-Games/dp/B01MS7AI9G/ref=pd_sbs_23_3?_encoding=UTF8&refRID=JA6KTJWCA9A2CZFBH8PF&th=1

2: What is the best SD card available? I've heard around 100Mbps is where the switch maxes out read wise, but I've also seen things indicating that it doesn't change much load time wise with different read speeds on the card.

3: Is there any real advantage to having cartridges over all digital (besides physical boxes)? Load times seem only marginally smaller from what I've seen, and that was on installed to system memory games.
