I am highly satisfied with my Pebble (official site, subreddit is /r/pebble), and full disclosure this is probably going to come off as fanboyish.

Basically there are two generations of Pebbles. The Pebble and the Pebble Time:^(Amazon_Smile_links_below)

Watch | Price | Description
--- | --- | ---
OG Pebble | $50-$70 | This is the original Pebble, it's an adorably fugly watch. Black and white 5-7 day battery life, the features are more limited than later generations. It is known to have a screen tearing issue after 1-2 years of use, but Pebble will replace it no questions asked as long as it's under warranty. Standard watchband without quick release. Waterproof. Battery life 5-7 days.
Pebble Steel | $99-$130 | The "stylish" version of the original Pebble. It's highly praised for its design, is also black and white, and features are more limited than later generations. It is known to have a screen tearing issue after 1-2 years of use, but Pebble will replace it no questions asked as long as it's under warranty. Standard watchband without quick release. Waterproof. Battery life 5-7 days.
Pebble Time | $99-$120 | The "lower tier" next gen watch. At first people didn't care for the design but once they got it complaints went away. It is much thinner than the OG Pebble, it has color screen, a microphone, and the hardware is upgraded to accommodate more complex apps and watchfaces. Quick release watchband. Water resistant. Battery life 5-7 days.
Pebble Time Steel | $150-$200 | The "higher tier" next gen watch. At first people complained about the large bezel, but in person it looks gorgeous. It's the same as the PT, except the it has a battery life of 7-9 days. The increased price is for the design and slightly increased battery life.
Pebble Time Round | $150-$200 | The newest released Pebble watch. Again, people at first complained about the bezel but seem to grown fond of it. There are "skins" out there that make it look more stylish by adding numbers around it (like a standard timepiece). It's even thinner than the PT or PTS, considered to be the more fancy Pebble watch. Same stats as all the others except battery life is 1-2 days, and at first apps and watchfaces were limited due to the round design. Since then there are plenty of app options. Less water resistant than PT or PTS, mostly good for a quick shower but not a swim.
Pebble 2 | $99-129 | (Lowest price is the early bird kickstarter, highest is retail) Pebble announced a new series of watches on May 24th. The Pebble 2 is the successor to the OG Pebble: it is black and white and made with plastic, but much more elegant. The processor, storage and ram have all improved to be equivalent to the PT/PTS hardwares, so more capable apps can be installed. The screen size is the same. It now supports smartstraps, includes a microphone and heart rate monitor.
Pebble Time 2 | $179-199 | (Lowest price is the early bird kickstarter, highest is retail) The Pebble Time 2 is the successor to both the Pebble Time and Pebble Time Steel. It is made of stainless steel, has more ram and storage, better processor, and the screen is 50% bigger. This means it the bezel much smaller! It also includes support for smartstraps, has a microphone and heart rate monitor.
Pebble Core | $69-99 | (Lowest price is the early bird kickstarter, highest is retail) This little device is the first non-watch release by Pebble. It's a tiny little box with a GPS, 4gb for storage, slot for a sim card, and bluetooth. Basically it's designed for runners: the GPS lets you track your runs, you can stream Spotify, load your own offline music to it, link it to you phone and watch. It's also advertised towards developers, has an access port and runs Android 5.

For comparison, Apple Watch and Android Wear smartwatches have a brighter screen that is absolutely gorgeous, but cannot be seen outdoors as well. The screen turns off if not in use to save battery life (battery life around 12-24 hours, similar to a smartphone). They have much more functionality and fancier features, like GPS and heart rate, along with a touch screen. It's like a mini smartphone on your wrist.

Some of the reasons I highly recommend the Pebble:

  • It is cheaper than most other smartwatches, but the quality is superb. A note: the bezel on the Pebble Time is known to scratch very easily, I recommend getting a screen wrapper from gadgetwraps.
  • Uncomparable battery life. The Pebble compared to Android watches or Apple Watch is like a Kindle compared to any tablet. Battery life is 7-9 days for the Pebble Time Steel, 5-7 days for the Pebble Time, or 1-2 days for the Pebble Time Round.
  • The screen can be seen in bright light, it's something like the old gameboy screens, as well as dark (shake to enable the light, just like a normal watch)
  • It's thin, much thinner than the Android Wear watches I've tried previously. It's also more stylish, and it has quick release for the bands to change the looks. Every couple weeks I switch from metal to leather or to nato bands.
  • It has a microphone, and various apps that make use of it. You can add stuff to the Timeline (calendar inside the watch), activate Google Now, someone even made it's own little Siri type thing.
  • It tracks your steps and sleep (if you want) and syncs it with Google Fit or Apple Health. Stats are viewable within the watch or within the Pebble app.
  • The timeline is really handy. You can "pin" stuff to the future to get reminded, your Google Calendar can sync with it so you see what's up for today, weather is shown for each day. If your a sports fan then scores are shown as well.
  • Lots of apps and watchfaces, vast majority free

I think what might interest people the most is the capability for smart straps. These straps can add additional functionality to the watch by connecting new hardware in the form of a strap. My personal favorites:

(Smartstraps are supported by all Pebble watches, including the new Pebble 2 and Pebble Time 2)

  • A strap that measures your heart rate and integrates with Pebble Health (and thus Google Fit/Apple Health). Posed for release in August, 2016.
  • A strap that lets you pay for stuff without any credit card, even if your phone is not on you, and at any register. Posed for release in July, 2016.
  • A strap that has GPS and an extra battery, also integrates with Pebble Health (and thus Google Fit/Apple Health). The battery is supposed to give an extra 7 days of life to the watch. Posed for release in October, 2016.

Basically, I think of the Pebble as a normal watch with some smartphone features (replying to texts via voice or canned response, initiating texts, viewing notifications) and other bonuses (health stuff).

    Hope this helps!

Amazon themselves are now selling the black Pebble Time for $70. Again, no idea how to buy more than 3 via their web site, but I'm sure customer service would be happy to take a $7000 order (or maybe less with negotiation?).

u/SethLe · 7 pointsr/pebble

All pebble watches allow you to set reminders and you can access the Pebble app store which has a decent free pomodoro app (used it in med school)

Pebble Time: https://www.amazon.com/Pebble-Technology-Corp-501-00020-Smartwatch/dp/B0106IS5XY

$70, 3-4 day battery life

Color display, always on

Timeline functionality for scheduling

Pebble Time Round: https://www.amazon.com/Pebble-Time-Round-Smartwatch-Refurbished/dp/B01F9BIMOA?th=1

$100, 1-2 day battery life, 15min charge time

All the same features as Pebble Time

Looks better (subjective)

I own both watches and I use the PTR for my day to day and switch to my Pebble Time for weekend trips or vacations.

u/MealPrepper · 6 pointsr/pebble

You can buy the Pebble Time for 65€ including free shipping to the Netherlands at Amazon Germany: https://www.amazon.de/Pebble-Time-Smart-Watch-schwarz/dp/B0106IS5XY. Might save a few bucks if you also check Amazon UK at time of buying.
It's not yet as cheap as some of the American posts we've seen here, but I think it's a fair price. I'm even thinking about buying one ahead to have one in stock when mine will eventually (in some years) have lost its life.

u/_pixelheart · 5 pointsr/pebble

Even though messaging is restricted, if you're on Verizon or att, they do let you voice reply which works pretty well. I've only had my PT for a few days and I've come to use Thaf when I'm driving or doing something else. It'll send that person a normal text but that reply will not show in your messages app, so it looks like a one way conversation. Groupon has them for cheap refurb or you can go through Amazon here and here

u/fresh_owls · 4 pointsr/pebble

I was going to start a new thread, but this one seems close enough. What do y'all think will be the future of the resale value for existing Pebbles?

So far, it looks like used prices on Ebay have taken a decent drop, but they're still holding most of their value, generally. Meanwhile, it looks like new prices haven't updated (at least on Amazon).

Will the value continue to drop forever? Will the end of production drive an increase in demand and price? Will they become vaunted collectors' items, furthered by the open source dev community?? (One can hope.) What do you think?

u/bernbach · 3 pointsr/pebble

As of right now, Amazon has new ones for $80 and refurbished for $70

Woot! has refurb for $60

u/Cermi3 · 3 pointsr/pebble

I found one exactly like the Pebble, but with a color screen. Brand New and $5 cheaper than the Amazfit bip.

Not for $70. Amazon has the Time for $89. Pebble Time Smartwatch - Black https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0106IS5XY/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_.jP7xb0NDY784

u/almightywhacko · 3 pointsr/pebble

For $99, the Pebble Time is a pretty compelling purchase even with the Pebble 2 and Time 2 coming out this fall. I mean, you'll get all of the features of the newer watches with the exception of a heart rate monitor for half the original price (and current Pebble.com price) of the Classic Pebble you are replacing.

Sorry man, but most people can get a brand new Pebble Time for the same or lower price.

$107 new on Amazon

$90 refurbished on Groupon

u/rpamorris · 3 pointsr/pebble

Black is $103 on Amazon with prime.

Thanks a lot! I'm thinking of this one which is $50 (somehow a third of the original price)

u/ch4rr3d · 2 pointsr/AndroidAuto

If it's that important that you know as soon as these emails come in, you could get a Pebble for ~$50. That would let you set up notifications for emails you mark as important in Inbox and keep your from having to fiddle with your phone while driving.

Pebble Time is on Amazon for about $100. I would also get the Richard Tracy HAMMER watch band to give you more holes so you can tighten it more.

u/RajSingh14 · 2 pointsr/Watches

Here's my collection so far, only began a few years ago. I might as well give you some context on these watches, and I'll link all of them them on Amazon. So I'll start from the one on the far right, my prized possession of the lot, the Emporio Armani AR2448 ,the most expensive watch I own out of the 4. It's design introduced me into preferring chronograph watches to others, and I managed to get it at a fairly good price too!

The next one to the left was my daily watch of last year, the Sekonda 1005.27, I found it to be very hard wearing and kept it's elegant look despite having a rubber strap, (which I had to replace with the nylon strap as seen above) because the strap-pin hole thing (there's probably a name) slowly torn open casting the strap as unusable. It was extremely cheap at the time, bought it for £80, the chronograph functionality really tempted me, and with a dome shaped glass screen, I couldn't say no!

Then came my most recent watch, my first Fossil. The Coachman 2891. This watch has always intrigued me, but I was always unsure on buying it due to the not so good durability of leather straps. I especially wanted this watch because of its similarity to one worn by the protagonist of an adventure style game called Uncharted, (which is worth the playthrough) The watch just suited my style of dress, so I decided to buy it. But all was going well until I found out how easily it can be scratched. I'm considering a screen replacement because of how easily this can be damaged, from a level 4 of mohs level of hardness picks! I've only owned it for a few months now, and it looks as if It had been through years of wear and tear - I recommend for the looks only.

And my final watch of the collection, the pebble time Kickstarter edition. I bought this back when pebble were a successful company, but their (not so) recent demise by being bought by Fitbit has caused these watches to be quite scarce, hence the hefty prices. I use this watch on the daily, it's my alternative to the Apple watch, because it was a lot cheaper (picked it up for £120) and it's 7 day battery life suits actual every day usage. I should move on from the specs, this watch has a more outstanding look to it after I custom polished it to match more smarter occasions, even though it's not as intriguing as a mechanical watch, it is useful in my every day life, with the interchangeable strap system proving to be very useful.

Well, there's my collection at the moment. Any recommendations on what watches I should go towards to add to my growing collection?

Edit: Not so mid-range watch collection.

$56. Has a microphone for VTT

I wear my every day and have since the original came out. Not sure what I'd do without it. I have my navigation there, all my notifications, calendar, alarms, music control, can respond to messages with my voice... the list goes on.

u/Protonus · 1 pointr/smartwatch

hah, cool. And as I predicted the Time has been on sale a lot recently. It's on sale right now for $129.99. http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0106IS5XY/ref_=gb1h_tit_m-7_2782_07196381&smid=ATVPDKIKX0DER?redirect=true&tag=3ds019-20

u/Dannykirk8 · 1 pointr/pebble

Just looked, the $69 dollar ones are now used but wireless cloud is still selling new for $74 and amazon fulfilled for $79. Not bad pricing. The reason Amazon fulfilled is important returns are easy if there is a problem.

This one would be good enough for me, atleast for what I would use(time, messages, notifications etc). I am fully aware of non-existent support and I quite like the looks.

Still available here - https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0106IS5XY

I've bought two from that link. First one has replaced my OG Pebble that is still working perfectly. Second is a backup. :)

u/Mjone77 · 1 pointr/gaming

The watch that OP's gif is of is a pebble time round, here is the watchface in the gif.

Not sure if it'll work on the OG pebble because it's less powerful and black and white, but they might have backwards compatibility. BTW, pebbles are great, I have the the pebble time and highly recommend it. I mean come on, it's an amazing smartwatch, has a week long battery life, an always on e-paper screen, and is only $124 on Amazon.

You can still occasionally get brand new units at reasonable prices. This Time is only $15 more than a Bip, and the Bip kinda sucks by comparison.

Plus, since it's Amazon prime, if you get a DOA or otherwise crappy unit, you can send it back for a full refund and they pay return shipping.
