Reddit mentions of Philosophy of Religion (4th Edition)

There's nothing wrong with admitting you don't understand something and trying to figure it all out. I obviously don't know you or your personal story but if you are interested in the philsophical/theological foundations of Christianity I'd recommend you look into the following:

• Summa Theologiae by St. Thomas Aquinas, the single most comprehensive work of systematic theology and the pinnacle of Medieval Scholasticism
  
  
• Foundations of Christian Faith: An Introduction to the Idea of Christianity by Karl Rahner A fantastic introduction to Christian, specifically, Catholic theology and philosophy
  
  
  
• God, Freedom, and Evil by Alvin Plantinga One of the major texts in PoR regardingt he logical problem of evil.
  
  
• The God of the Bible and the God of the Philosophers by Eleonore Stump Stump is one of the world's leading PoR and Thomists and this short lecture helps establish both the philosophical notion of the God of Western Monotheism and the God of CHristinaity specifically
  
  
• Philosophy of Religion by John Hick Another fantastic introductory text to PoR.
  
  I'd probably start with Hick for the groundwork and then move outwards into various other works which he recommends as further reading when something catches your fancy.
