I have the pinlock reusable plugs and I really like them, tried the foam disposables at first but I found that they blocked a little too much sound for my liking. The pinlocks allow just the right amount of sound through while keeping the wind noise down considerably. They are also quite comfortable I have no issue wearing them for a couple hours.

yeah i was reading that other user's response. that's probably the best route getting a custom fit made and will probably save some money in the long run. I've tried a few reusable sets, lost one of them, re-bought them and bought the Pinlock earplugs which are nice, blocks low frequencies but you can still talk to someone. But the best protection I get is from the disposable blue Hearos, roll them nice, tight and small, slide them in fairly deep and the noise of the world just disappears, it's nice. you could easily spend more over time than you would on a custom fit when you try multiple reusable plugs and re-buy disposables. so it's probably worth it see an audiologist have a set made and guarantee solid ear protection. but a fresh set of Hearos or similar disposables haven't let me down when properly fitted in my ears.
