Pilot Vanishing Point & Lamy 2000 are perennial recommendations that fit there. The VP is quicker to draw & has more colors, but the 2k has larger ink capacity & doesn't have the clip in the grip section (if that matters to you).

Platinum 3776 has a neat cap mechanism that keeps the nib wet, so it'll always write no matter how long it's been capped. And it comes in a wide variety of nib options, from UEF (ultra extra fine) thru C (coarse, approximately double-broad), as well as various soft options and music nibs. I have the black model, but the blue and red models are quite pretty.

If you like a smaller pen, the Pelikan m200 is around $100. They seem to be pretty consistently high quality and pleasantly smooth, and have a few conservative color options.

Pilot Falcon or the Pilot 912 with FA nib - a conservative look with a semi-flexible nib. They tend to be polarizing, where their owners either really like them or find them frustrating. I've tried a couple and think I'll like them, but am waiting on the 823 w/FA re-stock since writing with flex goes through ink quickly.

Pilot e95s - gold nib on a pocket-pen. Seems to be well liked here, but I don't have much personal experience, as I don't like pocket pens.

Sailor makes something called the "zoom" nib. Like a fude nib, it varies its line width with your writing angle - which might be nice for being able to write tiny notes in the margins or large attention-grabbing comments across the whole document :)

Way overpriced; Japanese Amazon sellers have it for under $80. https://smile.amazon.com/Platinum-3776-Century-Chartres-Blue/dp/B00B1N906K/

I recently bought my first Platinum century 3776.

I can understand when people say it is rather pointed, or maybe even like a nail. I always thought it was just very sharp and fine. It is crazy fine and it isn't even the super fine one. But, it looks gorgeous and writes like a champ. I use it to practice Japanese, so those fine points are needed. It is obviously also great for English.

I only have a century and a president, so I can't amswer your other question.

Hello. These nice Platinum 3776 can be bought via Amazon from a Japanese seller for $68 USD. That is way more cheaper than retail price. Platinum 3776 Century / Chartres Blue (nib : Fine) https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00B1N906K/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_j-DWzbY1FY4KM
