After leaving behind my Ray-bans in a limo, I said fuck it and bought a 5 dollar pair off of amazon. They look identical, feel decent enough in terms of quality, and are polarized.

When you go out a ton the most common thing to lose is your sunglasses. Could be at the beach, at a house party, in a friend's car, at a show, etc. After losing multiple pairs of $150+ sunglasses, I just don't feel that it's worth it anymore.

Additionally, I've seen these wayfarers go as cheap as $3 a pair. That would get you 18 pairs for the same price as the ray-bans. Sure they're not authentic but when was the last time someone came up to you and asked if your sunglasses were? This is frugal male fashion is it not? Get the same look at a fraction of the price.

I own two pairs of authentic New Wayfarers and I recently got a pair of these to wear in situations where I don't want to worry about losing expensive sunglasses.

I'd say go with the cheap ones. In some things, such as shoes, spending more money can get you a pretty big quality increase. It's true that nice sunglasses are higher quality than cheap ones, but the increase in price doesn't reflect the increase in quality in my experience.

I've had this pair for over half a year now, and besides a lens popping out once (which I was able to snap back in), I haven't had any problems.

And the best thing about cheap sunglasses? You don't have to worry about losing them, dropping them isn't a problem, and you can have multiple different pairs such as in this situation. Just my 2 cents!

Another alternative are these $5 ones which have been mentioned here before. Unlike the ones the OP linked to, these don't put a list price of $39.99 to make it look like you're getting a great deal.

Keep trying different shapes of sunglasses. Dollar store, thrift shop, etc. Until you find something that works.

Or just try some $5 polarized Wayfarer rip offs.
