I use the squat bar pads you can find on amazon. https://www.amazon.com/POWER-GUIDANCE-Barbell-Squat-Pad/dp/B01LYYFG1H?ref_=fsclp_pl_dp_7 It's around $14 and I've never had an issue. Mine has lasted me about 2 years so far as well. Latest lift I had with it was 85kg. It comes with little velcro straps to keep it on the bar but I honestly just put the opening up away from my body and I don't have to use it. Best of luck!
