If you are worried about sound, and keeping your case cool, then these are the best fans I've used. Plus, they are only 15mm, so great for in an HTPC. (They are 140mm fans, but mount on 120mm mounts.)

And you will probably be fine with the stock cooler. You can always upgrade in the future if you want. The best heat sink I know for an HTPC is:

Samsung 17: $44.99

It is a little on the pricey side, but if you want a really quiet, cool HTPC system, it will do the job well.

I'm gonna recommend a wholly different approach so you have some options:

Add a high cfm 120mm case fan with 11 fins at the top, and then use this as passive heatsink:
