Music production is much more CPU intensive rather than GPU intensive. If you wanted to maximize performance, maybe look into something like the Prostar Clevo 15 for $800 which comes with a Kaby Lake i7-7700HQ processor. You may find it beneficial as well to add in a further 8gb ram stick as well if you find memory is bogging down your system.

Cheaper alternatives could be the Lenovo Ideapad 700 for $660, which still has a quad core skylake CPU, and already has 12gb of ram preinstalled. Finally, you could also look into the similar Asus F Series for $700 which also comes with a Quad Core CPU, and a 128 SSD in addition to a 1TB HDD. It has a less powerful GTX 940MX dGPU, but I don't think you'll notice much performance difference.

Hi, these are the best models I found based on your requirements:noteb search result

You can see and change the search parameters using the "Refine results" button in the upper-left part of the search results page. You can also click on the laptops for more information.

I would recommend the: Dell Inspiron 15 7567 (US). Comes with a GTX 1050 Ti dedicated graphics card and a bigger SSD.

Another option would be the: Clevo N855HJ. Comes with a GTX 1050 dedicated graphics card and a shorter SSD than the Dell.

You can play AA games in the low-mid FPS including what you mentioned. On the Dell Inspiron you will have better FPS than on the Clevo. Both of them have a quad core CPU for high performances.

You can buy and customize the Dell HERE.

I would recommend The MSI GL62M 7RE

  • It comes with Intel Core i5-7300HQ, GTX 1050Ti, 8GB DDR4 DRAM, 256GB SSD, USB type C, no Backlit keybaord, average weight of 5.3 lbs.

  • Here is a small review of it, it is made from plastic but it feels good in the hand, doesn't have optical drive, battery life is a little weak at around 3 hours of general non gaming usage, doesn't come with backlit keyboard, Screen is Full HD TN screen (not IPS, so viewing angles is not great), contrast and brightness is a little on the low side but it has great RGB coverage, screen flexes but to an acceptable degree, USB type C (but not thunderbolt), ram and storage is upgradeable, Heat management is great with fans under the laptop as well as from the back, Keyboard is above average, Touchpad is responsive, speakers is a little mediocre, I would say slightly below average, and that is about it.

  • Main competition in the price range for comparison are the The Acer Aspire VX and the Prostar Clevo N855HJ.

Certainly not the most powerful laptop.

A rebranded Clevo N855HJ is just a bit thicker and has far better specs:

Curious, are you a bot or do you actually do this much research for all of your comments. :')

I assume you have an auto fill of some sorts to help you through, no?

Absolutely love the site, by the way. I like your recommendation as well, but it's missing the HDD. I'm not sure if I can fit all of my stuff on 256 GB.

What about these laptops?

Go with this HP Pavilion - 15t Laptop would definitely be your best pick..It has the new i5-7300HQ quad core processor, 8 GB RAM, and importantly a gtx 1050 graphics card which is better than the gtx 960m.. It also has a nice 1080p IPS display which is what sets it above this Prostar Clevo Gaming Laptop.

Do you think this would be fine for random steam games and triple A titles if I'm not on high settings? I want a laptop in this range and want to find the best deal

Do you think this is a better option?
