You're a star, thanks so much again, I'll probably go down this route then! Here's the GPU I've got stuffed in there at the moment... http://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B00IY182ZM?psc=1&redirect=true&ref_=oh_aui_search_detailpage

The 280x is currently at £170 on amazon , so it is 30% more expensive and also about 15-20% faster. I would go for the 290 and save in the case

That makes way more sense! However, I'd recommend this card. A couple pounds more expensive, but it's a 280 instead of a 270, and the reviews say it performs similar to a 280X. I'd never heard of the company, but maybe you have. I looked into them briefly, they're more popular in the UK than over here in the US, but they're the same people as PowerColor, who I'm much more familiar with, and they're trustworthy.

I've got a 280x myself and I ran Bioshock Infinite and Shadows of Mordor flawlessly at mostly ultra settings.

Don't know how or why but it seems like a 280x is that little card that could.

Thank you for the answer!

The last 2 are a bit out of budget.

> 250$ = AMD R9 280 or 280X.

Just noticed the reviews on that card are really bad. So I'm tempted to go with this one instead:

How do I know that this will fit in my computer? Will I have to go into my pc and just measure the slot it would go in?
