Yes, the $X style for $Y also felt like cheap marketing to me. Then I realized that a lot of the designs are actually inspired by famous watches. For example, Chronic B+W is based on the Raymond Weil Freelancer watch, so it is fair to say that you get a $2000 style for $60. I don't think they are trying to rip off the design, as they do do provide a link to the original timepiece in some cases. It also does look quite different, but there is no doubt that it inspired the design.
