Hi Dad, Dad, Dad, and Dad. Dad here also. The screen protector I agree is a must have. Mario party and Mario cart are a must for Family fun. I completely agree. BOTW could be to complicated for him but then again, it could not be. Its Fun and I think he could grow into it.

Here is the case I use. It fits everything really well and I am super happy with it:

I use this when I travel on The plane also. It fits perfectly over the handle of my suitcase.

u/juicyjames · 8 pointsr/NintendoSwitch

Most would probably recommend the amFilm tempered glass screen protector for peace of mind.

Then, if you are going to take it anywhere, possibly a travel case. Most people speak highly of:

u/Mudkip1 · 6 pointsr/NintendoSwitch

Get the Pro Controller for sure, as well as a Case to travel with. I bought this Case and have been pretty pleased with it.

There's also a larger version of this Case which fits the Switch Dock, Chargers, and additional Joycons. I kinda want this one but haven't bought it yet.

u/GooseRider960 · 5 pointsr/NintendoSwitch

Reposting this because it got buried in the last thread.

I need help on deciding a case. I've narrowed it down to four, but I suppose if none of them are great, I could go for a fifth option.

Protection is a big thing here, so if any of these are flimsy, let me know.

While I like the portability the smaller ones have, the big one being able to carry everything is a big bonus. Protection is a huge factor too.

I just bought this one and it’s perfect for me. I’m not gonna buy it for you but have a look.

u/Rajani_Isa · 4 pointsr/NintendoSwitch
  1. if buying in store, watch an unbox video then when buying it check the console in-store to make sure everything looks alright. Just in case, due to the fact that the boxes are not sealed (unless that's changed).

  2. As said, set up the account, update, download the game if digital, etc.

  3. Screen protector and case are always good. Case wise you have ones like this, this, or this.
u/Lady_Rebellium · 4 pointsr/NintendoSwitch

I'm probably gonna get this as my "all my crap" bag: https://www.amazon.com/Industries-Nintendo-Switch-Traveler-Deluxe-System/dp/B01N23OP50/ref=sr_1_2?s=videogames&ie=UTF8&qid=1486192302&sr=1-2&keywords=nintendo+switch+rds

It looks like a nice, compact size with nice little compartments for stuff and cart/sd cases. I'm not sure what the inside of the backpack looks like yet, but I'm wary of all my things flying around everywhere.

But for when I don't want all my crap, I like this small Surge case, for when I go to work and stuff.

u/Arodnap_ · 3 pointsr/NintendoSwitch

I use this

It can hold the dock, power cable, hdmi, mine and my boyfriends switch (one in the dock with joy-cons detached), 1 pro controller, 6 total joy-con with the straps, charging cable for the pro controller, and it comes with little game cases. It's not super big either.

u/Shanoga · 3 pointsr/SFGiants

I actually got two cases, one for the full system and one for lighter handheld travel. I've been really happy with both. I actually bring the lighter case with me to work every day.

System case: https://www.amazon.com/Industries-Nintendo-Switch-Traveler-Deluxe-System/dp/B01N23OP50

Handheld case: https://www.amazon.com/Industries-Nintendo-Switch-Traveler-Deluxe-Travel/dp/B01MY9JB2U

Note: Target has the Handheld Traveler case for $19.99 and it is fairly readily in stock. OMG THEY HAVE A MARIO KART ONE.

u/MegaRaichu · 3 pointsr/NintendoSwitch

I want one of those deluxe cases that fits the whole console, cords, games. I travel a few times a year and It would be great to have. This is the case I am referring too

u/Archlicht · 3 pointsr/NintendoSwitch

If you like the minimalist look, I suppose so. I've got the BotW SE case coming, but I'm still tempted by this for the overall package: https://www.amazon.com/Industries-Nintendo-Switch-Traveler-Deluxe-System/dp/B01N23OP50/

u/IwataFan · 3 pointsr/nintendo

With screen protectors you really want to go with tempered glass. Starter kits are a nice deal, but you do get what you pay for when it comes to screen protectors; such is life.

For a screen protector, I along with the rest of Reddit it seems have settled upon this screen protector as being the absolute best. I even had Best Buy Geek Squad install it to virtually guarantee proper installation, and it looks absolutely fantastic. I had the chance to play for a few weeks without it and personally think it actually makes the screen look better.

For a case I would go the RDS Industries route and get either this or even this larger case that can fit all the related Switch accessories.

u/picano · 2 pointsr/NintendoSwitch

I second the AmFilm screen protector. Easy to apply, great quality, and you get two in a pack.

As for travel case, I ended up getting one that supports the dock as well --- the RDS deluxe travel case. It's pretty sturdy... but has a few issues. The strap broke after a month (it's just barely attached initially); the grip section tends to press buttons if extra padding isn't used; and the zipper fell off the tracks since there wasn't a stopped in place.

Nintendo Switch Game Traveler Deluxe System Case https://www.amazon.ca/dp/B01N23OP50?ref=yo_pop_ma_swf

I have this one, which is very similar to the one posted above. I have to say i love it but it doesnt fit the procontroller very well but can fit the joy con grip with a set of joy con installed perfectly. The one the other poster posted above seems to be a bit bigger but soles the controller issue

u/iflythewafflecopter · 2 pointsr/NintendoSwitch

I'll pile on so OP knows just how great this case is. I also have the big one for taking around to friend's places.

u/nermal543 · 2 pointsr/NintendoSwitch

Ah sorry, I thought you meant a case that will fit in the dock. This one from RDS Industries is pretty nice and fits just about everything in it.

u/LordFrancium · 2 pointsr/NintendoSwitch

Just buy a carrying case or a bag depending on how much stuff you want to put in the case/bag there are many on amazon.

My recommendations

I really like this case. You can carry everything you need for up to 4 players (with a second pair of joycons instead of a pro pad) and no button gets pressed.

u/irbilldozer · 2 pointsr/Switch

The Nintendo branded large case seems like it would hold all this, look at the customer images on Amazon. I see photos with 2 controllers and I don't see why the GC controllers wouldn't fit if pro/grip controllers fit fine.

Tempered-glass screen protector

Pro Controller

Deluxe Carrying case

Carrying case

Portable charger

Pro controller + joy-con charging dock

Game card case (for physical games)

Gamecube controller (for Smash) and adapter

Poké ball plus (for Pokémon Let's Go) and charging stand

LAN adapter

These are all accessories that I have and love.

u/standarsh11 · 2 pointsr/zelda

I opted for one of these for whenever I bring the system, dock, and controller with me. Whenever I just take the system out, I have the case from the BotW SE for that.

u/puait02 · 2 pointsr/NintendoSwitch

This is def a good one for light traveling. Might pick this one up, good price.
Think I might also get this one when I want/need to bring the dock with me.

u/ItsMeRyman · 2 pointsr/NintendoSwitch

oh yeah that looks similar to this one. Lots cheaper though

u/Blueowl789 · 2 pointsr/NintendoSwitch

I have it and it doesn't. I also have this one which I also recommend if you want to travel with a procontroller (or joycon grip), dock, AC adapter etc.

u/4LaSor · 2 pointsr/NintendoSwitch

I suggest buying a case for the switch and dock bundle. you can buy the branded switch case but amazon has cheaper ones that work just as well. (i own one). This case can hold the switch, dock, hdmi, ac adapter, pro controller or extra joycons in grip.

There an expensive Waterfield bag ($150) out there as well.

Not too much out there designed to carry dock and everything just yet.

This case is incredible and holds the entire console and accessories with pro controller perfectly. I pack mine up every other day from home to work (I'm a firefighter) and this case beats the heck out of the old plastic grocery bags I was using haha.

u/grymmhain · 1 pointr/NintendoSwitch

Skull and co gripcase https://www.amazon.com/Skull-Co-GripCase-Set-Comfortable/dp/B078WH32Y7

Yeah price wise it’s steep if you only want the carrying case but the gripcase is easy to slip off and on your switch if it won’t dock for you.

The other case https://www.amazon.com/Nintendo-Switch-Game-Traveler-Deluxe-System/dp/B01N23OP50

Though I may snag https://www.amazon.com/Nintendo-Switch-Game-Traveler-Deluxe-System/dp/B01N23OP50 at some point since it would fit the pro controller and a joy con grip.

Of course the empty grips can really be packed in anything. They won’t break without a good deal of force.

Probably comes down to how often you would use the joy cons in their grip vs just using the switch in hand held mode.

u/Branflakes318 · 1 pointr/Switch

Oh yea I saw this one on amazon if you’re willing to spend the money

u/unromen · 1 pointr/NintendoSwitch

It's a bulkier option, but RDS industries has a pretty good case that fits everything, including the OEM dock.

Again, it's not going to solve the bulk problem, but it might make things a bit easier to manage.

u/Cedocore · 1 pointr/NintendoSwitch

I have this case, which I got from Target for $25 or $30 a week after launch. Not sure if it still sells for that cheap in-store, it's $40 online. Honestly I think it's worth it regardless, it's an amazing case. I regularly leave it upright with the Switch inside and have had zero issues.

The only downside is that it's mildly annoying to fit all the cords you need in if you have everything in it. Not impossible, though!

u/aluisi77 · 1 pointr/NintendoSwitchDeals

Just got the regular one. My friend has the Zelda one. I know the regular one has these odd indents on the top that look like it gives less room but its exactly the same as the Zelda ones on the inside. I wanted a normal back case cuz its less assuming when caring around the switch logo is small so it doesn't draw to much attention to HEY LOOK AT ME CARING A SWITCH!!!

It will fit 8 games total. The small ones for the 4 micro SD cards are the size of a switch cart I just took them out. No reason to carry 4 SD cards. The plastic game cases sit under the switch in a cut out made for the cases.

What I carry in my case is 4 games. The switch with joycons attached. 2 JoyCon straps and a official Nintendo USB C cable. If you want something to carry everything just replace the extra JoyCons on the grip for the pro controller this one is a nice option and its the same price everywhere. I have look at Walmarts ToysRus and Target they are all $39 for this case and its small the same size as the NES Classic case they made.

I cant stress this enough though. These cases F-ing stink like cigar smoke. I don't know why but they do. I left mine open in a well ventilated area for a few days the and smell went away. That's the only downside of RDS cases.

u/onomeister · 1 pointr/NintendoSwitch

These three cases can fit the AC adapter (as well as the console + games + extra joycons):

u/GuerrillaApe · 1 pointr/NintendoSwitch

RDS makes a carrying case that can fit a Switch and a bunch of accessories like the dock.

u/ShadoAJ · 1 pointr/NintendoSwitch

Hey guys, I'm interested in getting something that would allow to me to bring along all my Switch stuff, including the dock/charger/pro controller. I think the the above two options (https://www.amazon.com/Nintendo-Switch-Elite-Player-Backpack/dp/B01MS7DVLT/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1491153340&sr=8-1&keywords=switch+backpack) and (https://www.amazon.com/Industries-Nintendo-Switch-Traveler-Deluxe-System/dp/B01N23OP50/ref=sr_1_3?ie=UTF8&qid=1491152845&sr=8-3&keywords=rds+case+nintendo+switch) are probably the best choices. Just wanted to get some opinions from people who had already picked them up. Thanks!

This is the one my brother has. It's semi-hard shell, and holds everything but the dock.

No, but you could buy the RDS Switch case and instead of carrying a dock or controller, you can bring the 3DS.

I'll stick with this one! :D No squished control sticks with it, plenty of space for everything I need to bring, and a nicely padded hard case with handle. It was an instant preorder after seeing all the ones that only fit the console.

u/sit_boo_boo_sit · 1 pointr/NintendoSwitch

Are there any swtich cases that hold two Pro Controllers? This one holds just one, but I'd love to find a case that can hold two.

u/ThatEpicMoment · 1 pointr/3DS

My wife got me a Switch carrying case for Valentine's Day last year, just before the switch launched. It came with a mesh bag to hold the HDMI cable and a spare USB-C charging cable. But 99% of the time it holds my standard sized n3DS. It's prefect for it and just right to keep it from dings or small drops without being too bulking. It has a little padding built in as well so it isn't simply "barrier-only" protection. Still fits in the pocket too, which was important to me. This is the kit on Amazon. If you have a Switch, it's a great purchase as you get one product with two uses. The top of the fourth picture shows the little bag I use.

u/AlphaMoose67 · 1 pointr/NintendoSwitch

It’s the same dimensions as the Switch/dock case with added drop protection and IP67 water and air tight rating.

But you’re right if it’s gonna be something used as a commuter case I sure wouldn’t wanna carry either all day.

Super heavy duty, comes with a mesh bag that has two Micro SD card holders and two game holders that each hold 4 cartridges each. It can also carry the switch, dock, cables, joycon grip, and anything else you want to throw in there. You can usually find it at target or Best Buy for ~$30 USD. As for controllers... joy cons are easy to order online through Nintendo or you can get them at Target/Walmart or anywhere that has a video game section. As for holding case, I have this heavy duty grip case. I have dropped my switch before and it’s been perfectly fine with this thing on, so I definitely recommend it. https://www.amazon.com/gp/slredirect/picassoRedirect.html/ref=pa_sp_btf_aps_sr_pg1_2?ie=UTF8&adId=A0148261R5SAG6IFJ04X&url=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.amazon.com%2FMumba-Nintendo-Switch-Rubberized-release%2Fdp%2FB071ZRM6C1%2Fref%3Dsr_1_19_sspa%2F145-9781408-3087933%3Fie%3DUTF8%26qid%3D1519561659%26sr%3D8-19-spons%26keywords%3Dnintendo%2Bswitch%2Bcase%26psc%3D1%26smid%3DA1D6JCE5X9R16U&qualifier=1519561659&id=8600541413204391&widgetName=sp_btf
Also, a screen protector is recommended to prevent your screen getting scratched when you dock the console.

Don’t get too addicted to BOTW! XD

Edit: Also, all you have to do to charge your controllers is connect them to the switch while it’s docked.
