That spare keyboard was the Redragon S101, which came with his CyberPowerPC (ugh).

u/Hallorannn · 6 pointsr/buildapcsales

Seems gimmicky. Would do better to get this Redragon keyboard and mouse for $25, along with any cheap "gaming" mouse, and you'd only lose out on a broken headset.
edit: nevermind. It seems that the keyboard I linked includes a mouse, and is cheaper than the original post, as well as having better quality.

u/ryguy867 · 6 pointsr/buildapc

this is a pretty good entry level 1080p monitor to upgrade later when you get a better gpu

this is a cheap keyboard and mouse bundle that I got when I started out and it’s pretty good for the price though I’d definitely upgrade the keyboard later on to a mechanical one.

Looks to be a Redragon S101.

I picked this up off of Amazon for $29 bucks 2 years ago, been happy with it so far.

Everything looks great for what your intending to use it for! Great choice on getting both a HDD and a SDD! I know that your budget is $800, and your build is already at $1000, do not forget about windows. Windows is already going to cost you about $100. If you want to save a little on the accessories, maybe ask a friend or get a cheap bundle off of amazon, for example this (https://www.amazon.com/Redragon-S101-Gaming-Keyboard-Centrophorus/dp/B00NLZUM36/ref=zg_bs_1194464_23?_encoding=UTF8&psc=1&refRID=FVNBH17T080YW2M7N1P2). Then later in the future get your desire mouse and keyboard! Other than that, this looks like a decent build! Good luck with the build!

[Edit

u/b1LLydabeast · 2 pointsr/buildapcforme

It's a little bit over the budget: https://pcpartpicker.com/list/FwGhnH couldn't find the mouse keyboard on PCPP but found it on amazon https://www.amazon.com/Redragon-S101-Keyboard-Ergonomic-Programmable/dp/B00NLZUM36/ref=sr_1_1_sspa?crid=9TLS2AUSC017&keywords=redragon+keyboard+mouse&qid=1564857238&s=gateway&sprefix=redra%2Caps%2C372&sr=8-1-spons&psc=1

You could save about 20$ if you reduce the ram to 8Gb, but in this build you have 16Gb for 67$ which is a wicked deal. You could save a little with a cheaper mouse & keyboard combo, but for 30$ redragon is a good value. Same for the monitor, I put in a 1 ms monitor for 99$ and you could find a 5 ms monitor for about 80$.

IMO getting the msi b450 gaming plus would be better for future upgrades. (15$ ish more) So you could just update the bios and go with a ryzen 3600 in a year or so. Then change the monitor for a bigger one. That would be the best upgrade in a near future.

So if you cut in these three parts you could be closer to your 600$ max budget.

You can also buy a windows 10 pro key on ebay for about 10$. You just need to create a bootable usb drive on your computer with windows media creation tool.

You can easily play high settings 1080p, 240Gb ssd for the os + his main game and 1Tb is enough for all the games you have listed.

A lot of these parts are on sale, so in one month time, prices will be different.

I know it's over the budget but I tried my best to give the most bang for the buck.

You could go for something like this:

PC: https://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16883230219R

Monitor: https://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16824236678

Mouse: https://www.amazon.com/Redragon-Gaming-Buttons-Ergonomic-CENTROPHORUS/dp/B00HTK1NCS/ref=sr_1_3?s=electronics&ie=UTF8&qid=1518462248&sr=1-3&keywords=redragon+mouse

Keyboard: https://www.amazon.com/Keyboard-S101-Redragon-Computer-Improved/dp/B00NLZUM36/ref=sr_1_5?s=electronics&ie=UTF8&qid=1518462260&sr=1-5&keywords=redragon+keyboard

Total: $788.96 + tax

The motherboard on that PC supports up to 32b memory, so you could throw some extra sticks in there if you have a little extra to spend.

Not sure what you're looking to play, but that machine should be able to run something like PUBG on low to medium settings (which pretty much all of the good players run on very low settings on high-end machines anyways)

u/ForzaMilan_ · 1 pointr/buildapcsales

I'm looking to buy a cheap keyboard/mouse.

I'm deciding between a devastator and this http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00NLZUM36?keywords=cm%20devastator&qid=1450751545&ref_=sr_1_5&s=pc&sr=1-5

They're about the same price, which one would be better?

u/MagnumDoberman · 1 pointr/bapccanada

This is over his budget

I nailed this one, really good for 1080p/60 fps gaming at high settings, leaves you some money for a monitor and a low end keyboard and mice

https://www.amazon.ca/gp/aw/d/B076CS89TZ/ref=mp_s_a_1_9?ie=UTF8&qid=1518932465&sr=8-9&pi=AC_SX236_SY340_QL65&keywords=ryzen+5+tower

This monitor should serve you well

https://www.amazon.ca/gp/aw/d/B00EZSUVHK/ref=mp_s_a_1_2?ie=UTF8&qid=1518932705&sr=8-2&pi=AC_SX236_SY340_QL65&keywords=1080p+monitor+24+inch&dpPl=1&dpID=41uYfDdTtfL&ref=plSrch

And from there just pick up a cheap mouse and keyboard combo from a reputable brand such as this:

https://www.amazon.ca/gp/aw/d/B00NLZUM36/ref=mp_s_a_1_7?ie=UTF8&qid=1518932819&sr=8-7&pi=AC_SX236_SY340_QL65&keywords=cooler+master+keyboard+and+mouse+combo&dpPl=1&dpID=51suySQKxZL&ref=plSrch

This PC has some great components. Ryzen 5 processor and an RX570 should serve you well for 3 or 4 years. It is pretty upgradeable too, you could get a better GPU in 2 years and still be good to go as processors are not advancing that quickly anymore. you can check out some benchmarks for the processor and GPU if you dont want to take my word for it.

Welcome to the PC Master Race btw. Let me know if you want to play some PUBG

u/vikeyev · 1 pointr/pcmasterrace

>Other necessary items such as a legal copy of Windows

I'll assume they want windows and a legal copy for that matter /r/microsoftsoftwareswap

>a good M+KB or controller

Assuming they don't already have some lying around, you can pick up cheap M+KB pairs, here or here or like this or like this or cheaper or slightly more expensive ones like this or this.
Or (if you can) go to your local shop and pick up a cheap pair for $5 each (and that's here in Australia).
And all of that's also assuming you want it brand new.

A controller isn't necessary, but if they really want them, assuming you want new and analog sticks, this or this would suffice.

>Even miscellaneous things like cables, filters

They come with the gear you buy, GPU's come with the needed output cable (whether that be DVI/VGA/HDMI/DP) even then, local shops have them for a couple dollars...except DP which is expensive for some reason. PSU always comes with it's own cables and filters come with the case as well.

>mouse-pad

You can pick up a nice cheap one for a dollar (or less if you're that desperate)

>thermal paste, zip-ties

Already on your CPU fan, which comes with your cpu, unless you buy it second hand or buy a (very expensive) high end one. Zip-ties are an unnecessary optional item (cases these days have notches etc for cables and even then you don't "need" them) that cost a dollar for 100.

u/ccaalluumm9 · 1 pointr/buildmeapc

Well by general keyboard standards, it's quite a nice gaming style keyboard, and would be more than sufficient if that's what you're looking for. The next level would be a mechanical keyboard, and the general price of those are much higher, around $100+. Mechanical keyboards are definitely worth the price if you're able to and willing to shell out the money for one. I own a Corsair K70 myself and it's amazing, cost me $150 AUD.
Here are some amazon reviews of that other keyboard however: https://www.amazon.com/Redragon-Vajra-Gaming-Keyboard-Centrophorus/dp/B00NLZUM36#customerReviews

- A good 6 cores/12 thread CPU for gaming and some streaming
- 1TB of HDD plus 240GB of SSD (alternatively: if you can live with 512GB, I'd recommend you to go SSD only)
- A good video card that can play most games well at high/ultra settings
- Fairly well built and well performing PSU
- IPS, 23" 1080p monitor
- Good entry level mouse/kb combo. There's also this one as an option, I didn't recommend them just because they can't have their LEDs turned off, but if you don't mind, go for it

Feel free to ask anything!

Edit: you can use this video card to cut down on rebates if you prefer, my build relied a bit too heavily on them.

All three mice are wired,

Two are a bit older and are both the same make/model. One of these I have been using for 2+ years without issue up to this hardware change. (One bought separately which I can't find a link to currently, one bought as part of a keyboard/mouse combo set, the keyboard I am still using without issue)
https://www.amazon.co.uk/Redragon-S101-Gaming-Keyboard-CENTROPHORUS/dp/B00NLZUM36

The third is a brand new mouse I bought after thinking the old mouse was just giving up on me but it is having exactly the same issue. https://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B01JKQT9M4/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o02_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1

I do use a wireless headset linked up to a USB receiver when playing however as the mice are wired I assume this shouldn't be an issue?

u/MasterIndie · 1 pointr/oculus

Something like this should be good. Basically any desktop PC with a GTX 1660 ti graphics card should be good. Other good graphics cards are a GTX 1070, GTX 1070 ti, GTX 1080, GTX 1080 ti, RTX 2060, RTX 2070. For a bit less money that is ok but not great, there's the GTX 1660 or the GTX 1060 6GB. All of those graphics cards should have the DisplayPort built right in.

You'll also need a monitor or just use your TV. Here's a cheap monitor and here's a cheap 27 inch monitor. Many PCs come bundled with a mouse and keyboard, but if they don't here's a cheap red dragon mouse/keyboard. If you want a nicer mouse or keyboard, anything by logitech is fantastic.

oh yeah, you've probably also already heard of it, but there is also the Oculus Quest headset. It doesn't have as many games and doesn't have as good of graphics, but it's totally wireless and doesn't require a PC at all.

What currency is CDN$?

Edit: Maybe Canadian $?

Edit 2: Nevermind. The .ca domain gave me my answer

Edit 3: The fact that it has no name branding has me a little worried. I'd rather recommend a redragon set.

Very good quality for the price. When searching for a mouse 4 months ago, after holding both in my hand, I actually chose a Redragon mouse over a Razer, which was about 3 times the price (It was a birthday gift from the wife, and price wasn't an issue. She was more than willing to pay for the Razer). The Redragon honestly made the Razer feel cheaply made. I was pleasantly surprised by how sturdy the buttons feel.

u/xhonaton · 1 pointr/bapccanada

this i built just now is about 800CAD give or take. A real bargain from what you'd see 1-3 years into the past, and there's barely any sales.

https://ca.pcpartpicker.com/list/dd6sL2

https://www.amazon.ca/Keyboard-S101-Redragon-Computer-Improved/dp/B00NLZUM36/ref=sr_1_10?crid=1CBUIFCWI8I0G&keywords=keyboard+and+mouse&qid=1574754550&smid=AXZ7TDMJNMJSZ&sprefix=keyboard+%2Caps%2C165&sr=8-10

case is ugly and not really fan customizable , but if you're not playing games on ultra, with high shadows, you won't need many more fans on the case.

With time, this pc building/gaming hobby has become and is still becoming cheaper for the general community. My personal built is a little weaker than this sadly(but with more rainbows and glass), and costed me 1100CAD in december 2017 and it can still play DooM on High, maybe even on ultra if I overclock it, but I don't need to because I get enough enjoyment out of high/very high graphics with no shadows from the games i play already i.e. GW2, LoL, Rocket League, Overwatch, Middle earth.

u/Shadowling_ · 1 pointr/buildapcforme

Ok. So I found a mnk for the same price as that keyboard https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00NLZUM36/ref=psdc_cart_402051011_t1_B016MAK38U?th=1

would you still recommend the logitech mouse?

u/HAVE_MRSA · 1 pointr/buildapcsales

Ohhhh. This keyboard actually has the same layout that I've been using for the past year on this cheapo keyboard: http://www.amazon.com/Redragon-Vajra-Gaming-Keyboard-Centrophorus/dp/B00NLZUM36

I didn't know it was weird! Maybe I'll get this deal since I'm used to the key setup.

edit: Out of stock oopsies

u/TheSpookiestSkeleton · 1 pointr/pcmasterrace

Just the PC itself plus maybe the cost of a decent starter keyboard and mouse.

Also for funsies here's a decent set- Better than a bestbuy special or el generico set at least. And if you really wanted you can always get a mechanical keyboard and a crazy 12 button mouse or something later.

http://www.amazon.com/Redragon-Vajra-Gaming-Keyboard-Centrophorus/dp/B00NLZUM36/ref=sr_1_6?ie=UTF8&qid=1458935594&sr=8-6&keywords=gaming+keyboard+and+mouse

I don't include a monitor in the price since typically the price is compared to consoles and a console doesn't exactly come with a TV either. And these days you can snag a decent monitor for like 99-129 bucks or cheaper these days if you watch woot and amazon/newegg. To add to that, as previously stated by other users you can use the same TV with your PC as well.

u/danzchief · 1 pointr/buildapc

Here's a link for the Canadians, have you ever bought one of their products ? I just feel like the keyboard I linked has a really cheap touch to it.

u/graydog3 · 1 pointr/shittybattlestations

Well, firstly I got it over a year ago, but also I don't recall it being wavy when I got it because it came as part of the S101 Combo which is in a larger box.

u/Soloemilia · 1 pointr/rva

I could use some advice regarding gaming. 12 year old boy with a PS4. Wants gaming keyboard and monitor for Christmas. He sent me these links- do you guys think these are decent quality for the price? Monitor keyboard

u/tekni5 · 1 pointr/bapcsalescanada

I just showed you a very simple example. If you give yourself a month or two to build a proper PC you could do a better system with better components for the same price. The keyboard & mouse you typically get with cheap pre-builts are hardly worth $10, you can always get some cheap logitech combo or cooler master combo. However realistically you'd want to buy something better.

If you need to go prebuilt, I would consider buying like a dell system from Costco if it's ever on sale due to the return policy.

u/SteadyMercury1 · 1 pointr/xboxone

My wife took to mouse and keyboard like it was nothing. I have a lot of trouble with it outside of RTS/MMO etc. I grew up with a controller though and she only had a few years of muscle memory to retrain.

If you have to sit far away from your computer just pick up a cheap Logitech or Microsoft wireless USB keyboard, nothing fancy. You can pull that off for under $30.00 on Amazon. If you sit closer try a wired set and it might be a bit cheaper + no batteries.

The lapdocks and such you see advertised by Razor, Logitech, Corsair etc. are expensive. Don't buy one if you don't know if you'll stick to a keyboard setup. You can get the "feel" for mouse and keyboard just fine on a plain old setup and spring for better stuff when sales come along if you want to stick with it.

For setup and end table and chair might do for a temporary/trial period. I've used a chair and living room table to play PC games on my TV downstairs. Obviously, much easier if you game at a desk.

What are your thoughts on it?

any recommendations?

u/kmarze93 · 1 pointr/pcmasterrace

For you, with your situation considered and all i would honestly go with a cheaper setup and build up. an i5 is perfectly fine for gaming, and you don't need a mechanical keyboard and fps mouse right from the jump. save a few bucks and look for a keyboard and mouse combo like this one.If worse comes to worse wait around on ibuypower.com or new egg and see if any pre built system goes on sale. For a 13 year old making money is hard so the setup you want is going to take very long to achieve. also id go with an atx motherboard size and a samsung SSD with a WD blue hard drive.
