I went with this mini drive from Samsung since the description mentioned it could tolerate high temps. I’ve heard good things on Samsung’s flash memory vs lower end SanDisk.
Edit: whoops, here’s the link https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07D7P4SY4/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_hO1XBbDWT3HEG
Edit edit: how could I make this a smile link without going to a desktop?
Samsung Fit Plus. As a bonus it has a wider operating temperature range than most USB sticks. https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07D7P4SY4/
I got the 64GB version, but I did have the dashcam shut down once because the drive filled up with sentry mode recordings. You might want to get a larger one.
I have this thumb drive but since V10 I've been getting "drive to slow" messages, so looking to upgrade, perhaps to a full SSD.
I know the Samsung T5s are often recommended here, but the operating temperature is 0-60 C, and I need something that can operate in winter (probably 0F / -17C) as well as hot summers. What's everyone here using?
I had a flash drive that lasted like 6 weeks being used for Sentry before it failed into read-only mode. Turns out Sentry is brutal on the circuits of the drive.
Does anyone have recommendations for a drive that's more durable? I saw someone mention https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07D7P4SY4/ as one but I don't see anywhere on that page where it indicates it'll hold up.
Format the drive to FAT not ExFAT
Go with this one because I’ve had no issues what so ever: Samsung MUF-64AB/AM FIT Plus 64GB... https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07D7P4SY4?ref=yo_pop_ma_swf
You put the word(s) you want to hyperlink as [] and then directly after that include the link in (). So like this minus the period between the brackets and parenthesis.

Can this usb work https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07D7P4SY4/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o01_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1

Yes, it would still work fine. You may be able to find an even smaller one if you don't need USB-C. I saw some folks discussing this one from Samsung. https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07D7P4SY4 If you search the subreddit for "dashcam" and "flash drive" you'll find some more discussions. I'm sure someone else will chime in here soon too!
A nice fast 3GB/s NVMe SSD would be six times faster than a SATA SSD. I'd recommend at least 1TB; 2TB for room to grow. It will give the most immediate and thorough performance gains. Unfortunately to get the most out of it, it'll have to be the system drive, which means a reinstall of the system.
Get a Windows 10 Pro key from eBay from a good seller with 99/100% feedback and lots of sales for like $5.
Buy a 300MB/s 64GB flash drive from Amazon for $15: https://smile.amazon.com/dp/B07D7P4SY4
Set up the flash drive with Windows 10 Pro: https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/software-download/windows10
Disconnect the old drives and hook up the new NVMe drive by itself. Install Windows 10 Pro. With the fast flash drive and NVMe system drive, it'll take like 5 minutes to go from booting the install to the desktop. It's so fast.
Once it's installed, shut down and hook the old drives back up again to copy over what he needs, but they'll be very slowwww compared to the new drive. Use the old drive(s) for backups or cold storage.
So it's definitely legitimate, and I'm certain the write speeds are good enough since I bought [this flashdrive from Samsung.](http://www.Samsung.com/ MUF-64AB/AM FIT Plus 64GB - 200MB/s USB 3.1 Flash Drive https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07D7P4SY4/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_i_zYDmDb6119HSZ)
I tried another 4gb flash drive formatted as FAT32, but that too did not work (dashcam icon did not appear when I inserted drive).
From everything I've read USB 3.0 is fine if you stay under 64gb. I followed a guide online and grabbed this one. I used a guide I found online and it worked for me.
I bought the below Samsung stick so wouldn’t really call it cheap and it definitely meets Tesla’s requirements.
