You can get a comparable SanDisk for $42 without a one to two month wait.

SanDisk Ultra microSDXC UHS-I cards

  • 64gb - $14.99

  • 128gb - $29.99

  • 200gb - $49.99 (choose Amazon as the seller. Out of stock, but you can still order, and it will ship when restocked).

I got this and a Type-C cable to use with my portable battery.

Yes, it matches the lowest price this card has ever been on Amazon.

u/RippyZ · 21 pointsr/NintendoSwitch

Samsung evo is a better sd card and goes for the same price pretty much 100% of the time https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B06XWZWYVP/

Don't buy SD cards in physical retail locations like bestbuy. Their "deals" are just them marking the price down to the actual online price when most of the time they are marked way up. When they do go on sale for real you'll see them for like $25-$40 on Amazon.

EDIT Here's the Sandisk one https://www.amazon.com/SanDisk-microSDXC-Standard-Packaging-SDSQUNC-128G-GN6MA/dp/B010Q57S62 for the same price on Amazon. No mention of a sale while bestbuy is claiming $118 off. Just bestbuy fuckary going on there. Samsung one I linked is still better as it's rated 30MB/s minimum while the sandisk is 10MB/s minimum.

u/zehamberglar · 19 pointsr/technology

Or don't and get a raspberry pi and put Kodi on it.

Here^1 is^2 everything^3 you^4 need to make a KodiPi with enough space to put a bunch of movies on (if you wish, otherise just get a smaller mSD). About the same price as a brand new roku, but you can do a lot more with it, and it's open source so you could do whatever you wanted with the device.

u/Galen640 · 10 pointsr/Switch

First of all: Screen Protector. Once it's on you never notice it, doesn't hurt to get that extra safety!

I've bought 10 games so far, and I'd say get all of these because I have enjoyed them. BOTW, Splatoon 2, Sonic Mania, Rayman Legends, Dragon Ball Xenoverse 2 (assuming you like DBZ,) Mario Kart 8 Deluxe, Pokken Tournament DX, Street Fighter 2 Ultra, Mario + Rabbids Kingdom Battle, and Yooka Laylee.

If I had to pick 3 for you to get to start out then I would pick Breath of the Wild, Splatoon 2, and Mario Kart 8 Deluxe. I think that's enough variety to keep you busy for awhile.

A carrying is always a good thing, I'd recommend This case because it's the one I use and does its job.

Accessory wise I have joycon grips which are AMAZING when playing with one joycon.

Also, the grip it comes with is trash. Get the Power A Grip it feels A LOT better in your hands.

As for SD Cards, it depends. I have a 32GB SD card. I mainly buy physical games, The extra space is for screenshots and videos, and download only games, like Sonic Mania, Yooka Laylee, etc. If you're going for digital only then get a 256GB. Sure you won't use a ton of space now, but you might a few years down the line. Also, do NOT get the official Nintendo ones. They are a RIP-OFF! Here are some nice alternatives that will get the job done for A LOT cheaper: 32 GB 64 GB 128 GB and finally 256 GB

If you have any other questions feel free to ask OP, and other (potential) switch owners!

Quick edit: sorry that some links won't be put with the text, no idea what the issue is

u/sendblink23 · 9 pointsr/NintendoSwitch

I recommend exactly: SanDisk Ultra 128GB microSDXC UHS-I
(SDSQUNC-128G-GN6MA)

I own 3 of them and all have been working perfectly, started getting digital games since the Switch launch day on which currently I own well over 100+ Switch games.

Don't get the Nintendo branded SanDisk its extremely overpriced and its basically about the same one I suggested you.

u/flaconexe · 7 pointsr/NintendoSwitch

Why don't you get the Sandisk Micro SD card of the same capacity?
https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B010Q57S62/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o00_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1

I'm sure it works fine?

Edit: Yeah as one of the comments pointed out , it is cheaper too.

u/CaptainClough · 7 pointsr/NintendoSwitch

Definitely a Screen Protector

A Travelling Case would be nice.

I also added Dr Scholls Moleskin to the front of my dock to reduce the risk of scratching the screen protector. (Two small strips on the parts inside the dock that are raised.)

A Memory Card also helps for the digital only games.

What color Switch did you get? I got the grey switch then bought a pair of Red Joycons and another pair of Blue Joycons. So in total I have a grey, red, and blue L Joycon and a grey, red, and blue R Joycon.

If you got the grey switch and then buy the [two color Joycon packs] (https://www.amazon.com/Nintendo-Switch-Joy-Con-Neon-Neon-Blue/dp/B01N6QJ58Y/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&qid=1493753597&sr=8-2&keywords=blue+joycons) then you won't be able to get one of each color for L/R without over paying. This is because the [two color Joycon packs] (https://www.amazon.com/Nintendo-Switch-Joy-Con-Neon-Neon-Blue/dp/B01N6QJ58Y/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&qid=1493753597&sr=8-2&keywords=blue+joycons) are always Red L and Blue R.

If you bought a neon switch, then buy the [two color Joycon pack] (https://www.amazon.com/Nintendo-Switch-Joy-Con-Neon-Neon-Blue/dp/B01N6QJ58Y/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&qid=1493753597&sr=8-2&keywords=blue+joycons) and a pair of Grey Joycons for all combinations.

Also, don't buy Joycons on Amazon, they are stupid expensive right now.

I don't have a pro controller yet, but people seem to love it.

Games:

Zelda = Must Buy

Mario Kart 8 Deluxe = Must Buy

1-2 Switch = Great for parties/friends

Snipperclips = Great for people who don't play games often (girlfriends/parents/kids). Secret here is to not explain how to play/what to do and let them have fun and try to figure out the puzzles on their own. Act like a support character and you'll have a blast watching them.

Binding of Isaac = I love this game, but put countless hours on the PC version. Mature themes

Super Bomberman R = Classic mode with easy CPUs is fun for roommates. I haven't played through the adventure mode yet.

Wonderboy = Cute/Fun side scroller.

Has Been Heroes = I don't have this yet, apparently very difficult.

Other notes:

I started collecting amiibos after getting a switch (Be very careful, it's easy to get addicted and drop a ton of money here).

I got a Joycon charging dock since the only way to charge extra pairs of Joycons without the Joycon charging dockis to rotate them in and out of the switch while it charges/docked.

Let me know if you have any other questions!

PS I love the Switch so much. It's definitely my favorite console ever.

I've been going overboard with accessories. Here's what I picked up so far:

Glass screen protector - Just in case.

128GB microSD card - I rarely buy physical games

Pro Controller - I love it. So comfortable.

PowerA Hybrid Case - I basically use this as a stand for my Switch when I'm on the go.

JDeal portable dock - It works. Make sure to follow the instructions. Works with my Nexus5x 5v 3A portable charger.

[Retractable HDMI cable] (https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B019J96PSI/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o05_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1)

Hestia case - The Switch with the PowerA Hybrid Case, portable dock, portable USB-C charger, and retractable HDMI cable all fit in this.

USB 3.0 LAN Adapter - Faster speeds when on the official dock.

Gooseneck tablet holder - Ultimate comfort. Play while in bed.

Magic NS Wireless Adapter - I had originally bought this so I could use my PS4 controller. This was before I picked up the Pro Controller. It works. There was a recent firmware update that gives gyro support for PS4 controllers and it works well with Splatoon 2.

On the way:

Mumba case - For better comfort/protection while playing in handheld mode.

And Amazon.

Edit: aaaaaaaaand it's gone

u/americosg · 6 pointsr/NintendoSwitch

These are for Micro SD cards, note that it has a hindge in the left so there should be 2 spots under it. With this card holder setup + the Switch itself one could have:

5 x 128 GB Micro SD Cards for a total of 640 GB for 200 Dollars.

or

5x 200 GB Micro SD card for a total of 1000 GB for 325 dollars.

or

Any combination of Micro SD cards that meet your specific storage demands.

Note: 128 GB is the top capacity validated according to rumors. however like in the 3ds the Switch likely supports bigger SD cards. Also the prices of flash media are going down so this will be cheaper in the future. Furthermore I didn't include 256 GB Micro SD cards because I didn't find any with a reasonable price.

Good catch. The SD card in the link has 48 MB/s listed in the specs, but the equivalent on amazon lists 80 MB/s. I have a hard time differentiating between all of Sandisk's cards - I kinda wish they would simplify the roster or streamline the site.

u/chaoskagami · 4 pointsr/3dshacks
  1. The price of 120GB has fallen recently, and one can be had for ~$40 USD. This is less than one 3DS game, and while other SD cards are dirt cheap, $40 is not unreasonable by any means. http://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B010Q57S62/ref=mp_s_a_1_2/187-9727977-9633106?qid=1464222391&sr=8-2&pi=AC_SX236_SY340_QL65&keywords=128gb+sd

  2. http://github.com/Plailect/Guide/wiki is a VERY noob friendly guide. Hand-holdingly so, for better or worse.

  3. Most people are generally helpful so long as you ask the right questions. As for information - a lot of it is meant for devs rather than users, but is public unlike Vita/PSP/WiiU/etc. I'll agree we need more newbie guides, but anyone with technical knowledge could distill the docs and write one now. Most devs are too busy writing code and pushing it to github, or answering questions in forum topics. :/

    TAKE THAT!

(God, I love Phoenix Wright. Anyways. :P)

Would a 128gb microsd be big enough to get some major games digitally (such as Smash whenever that may come, Splatoon, ARMS)? If so, would this one be a good choice?

BlackSys CH-100B 2 Channel 1080P FULL HD Front and Rear Pro Wide Angle Dashboard Recorder | Dash Cam With G-Sensor + Up to 128gb Memory | Car Parking Mode | Wifi App with a 128gb microSD.

Total was 260 something with prime shipping. Easy to install though I've not hard wired it. Image is pretty good in the day, though night time isn't great and obviously isn't made for an internal car view, though I didn't need one of those.

I was almost ran off the road today and am now working on a compilation of all the bullshit from this month. It's going to take all day probably since i've never used Vegas Pro before. I got it on the Humble Bundle a few months ago and then ran out of hard drive space and couldn't afford a new one until I broke down and just got one today.

You said that average consumers definitive don't buy SD cards, I didn't phrase my statement that strongly and at least provided the minimum of anecdotal evidence.

  • Anyway, if micro SD cards aren't popular why do all major phone makers but Apple and Google have SD card slots in their phones?

  • Why did Samsung feel forced to switch back to having SD card support in its top of the line phones after getting rid of it with the S6 / Note 5 redesign?

  • Why are micro SD cards available in all mainstream consumer electronic retailers, usually placed right next to phones?

  • Why do micro SD cards seem so popular on Amazon.com, like for example this 128 GB Sandisk one which has double the number of ratings than the most rated Playstation 4 SKU?

  • Why is the market for SD cards still projected to increase ($21.3 billion by the year 2018) even more when at the same time the market for digital cameras is shrinking?

    https://www.storagenewsletter.com/2012/07/13/global-industry-analysts-sd-cards/

  • Why is the industry naming phones as the main driver behind that continued increase?

Its funny how they guy who argues that normal consumers definitive don't use SD cards is of course a person that made the decision to buy a phone that doesn't support SD cards...
u/RabbitDreams · 3 pointsr/VitaPiracy

You will need a micro SD.

These two micro SD cards have proven to work very well:

https://www.amazon.com/dp/B010Q57S62/ref=psdc_3015433011_t1_B06XWZWYVP

https://www.amazon.com/dp/B010Q57S62/ref=psdc_3015433011_t1_B06XWZWYVP

You can pre-order a quality SD2Vita adapter here:

https://hackinformer.com/sd2vita-plus-pre-order-form/

For homebrews, you can install them as normal in your ux0 directory.

u/PizzaCouponz · 3 pointsr/news

Simple wiring job. Not difficult to do yourself. And make sure you get the smaller microSD version, then get one of these:https://www.amazon.com/SanDisk-microSDXC-Standard-Packaging-SDSQUNC-128G-GN6MA/dp/B010Q57S62 for less than half their price.

u/sonic260 · 3 pointsr/nintendo

Then just buy an SD card. A Nintendo switch is $300 and a 128gb micro SD card is $40, totalling to $340. An iPhone 7 plus with the same capacity is $750. You're already paying less than half the cost of an iPhone for the same capacity.

If you want more than 32GB, then just go get more.

EDIT: Edit, sorry, regular iPhone 7, not plus. The plus adds an extra $100 for its price, but still way more expensive than a Switch + Micro SD.

u/quanzi1507 · 3 pointsr/gpdwin

Overpriced IMO.

Same 128GB SanDisk Ultra, $43.99, not even on sale, comes with an adapter for free:
https://www.amazon.com/SanDisk-microSDXC-Standard-Packaging-SDSQUNC-128G-GN6MA/dp/B010Q57S62

I can't see how being "made for Amazon" justifies a higher price tag. If anything it should be cheaper than the "standard packaging" one.

Concerning compatibility, I'm using the 200GB version which I grabbed for $40-ish last Black Friday. Zero issue so far. Didn't even need to use GPD Win Keepalive.

u/kyle6477 · 3 pointsr/NintendoSwitch

128GB cards are probably the best value right now. They get significantly more expensive once you go beyond that.

This one is a really good card. Works with my 3DS.

yes it will work, but microsd cards are not super reliable (if power goes out, etc) and not super fast.

u/Just_made_this_now · 3 pointsr/newzealand

Not sure, but don't see why not. Though if you're thinking of getting a higher capacity one, then Amazon is much cheaper, especially when on sale.

u/plehem12 · 2 pointsr/Surface

I have a Surface 3 as well and the first thing I bought with it was a 128gb microSD card. This one to be exact:

http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B010Q57S62?psc=1&redirect=true&ref_=oh_aui_detailpage_o00_s00

I've had both the Surface and the card since Black Friday and I've only had problems with it not staying mounted once, which was the same day I got it. I use my Surface every day. I keep all my music, movies, extra documents for work, and things like that on it and have not had any problems with anything. I don't use it for gaming, however, so I can't help you there. But, so far so good otherwise. Maybe check that out!

Also, I'm curious. What kind of games do you play on your Surface 3? I bought it for work and not for games, but I'm about to fly from Korea to Louisiana soon and some gaming options would be nice. I've never been into PC gaming, I'm a console peasant. What's the best way for me to look into what I can do with my Surface 3?

u/lloganwebb · 2 pointsr/NintendoSwitch

I dunno, but this one is double for less than $10 more.

u/PCGCentipede · 2 pointsr/underwaterphotography

Yep. The only complaint I have about the waterproof housing is that you can't get a red filter for it for scuba diving. However there are other inexpensive cases that will work with the camera that do have red filters, so it's not a big deal. There's also software to correct the blue cast.

This is the memory card I got

If you go with a different size/brand, just make sure it is class 10.

Glad I could help.

u/mrGREEK360 · 2 pointsr/Surface

hmmm how about ebay, you can use a debit card with PayPal, just don't buy the sd card off ebay because it will be fake but an adapter should be safe to buy on ebay, you should be able to buy the sdcard locally, just buy from a reputable dealer in greece. Hello from a Greek living in Canada.

You can also go to a small computer shop in Greece and ask if they can order one for you, might cost more for their effort, but if you don't have a debit card/credit card then that's your only choice. Do you have any friends with a credit card/debit card/paypal? if so then ask them if they can order it for you.

u/Ugly_Muse · 2 pointsr/NintendoSwitch

Amazon has similar 128GB cards here.

Trying to get the same speed still shows slight savings grabbing two of these.

I think paying a premium for having such a large mSD isn't worth it. Better off grabbing smaller 128 (how many games are you realistically going to put on it to begin with?). If that's not enough, maybe an external drive would be a good option anyway.

It's all up to preference, but I won't be grabbing anything bigger than the 128GB for mine.

u/LostMyLastAccount · 2 pointsr/NintendoSwitch

Here is a Reddit thread someone posted awhile ago.

Just a quick rundown though. We don't know the SD Card readers capabilities on the Switch, so most people are just getting the Class 10 cards (typically referring to the read speed of the card) these cards have somewhere in the range of 80 MB/s to 95 MB/s. Also, SanDisk and Samsung are some of the most reliable brands on the market right now and I have never had a problem with either.

Personally, I got a Class 10 - 128 GB micro SD card off of amazon.

Could it be the MicroSD issue? What class is it? MicroSD now is cheap and I would get one with a better class mostly for the apps to move smoothly without any major issue.

For me, I use the SanDisk Ultra 128GB microSDXC UHS-I on my Shield Tablet LTE
https://www.amazon.com/SanDisk-microSDXC-Standard-Packaging-SDSQUNC-128G-GN6MA/dp/B010Q57S62/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1487263794&sr=8-1&keywords=sandisk+128gb+microsd

For the most part, all my apps and video and games work fine without any hiccup on my tablet. I don't know if it will fix your issue but would at least get another MicroSD and maybe see if the issue you're having is maybe the MicroSD or maybe something even bigger issue with your K1.

considering the current black friday deals on microsd cards (https://www.amazon.com/SanDisk-microSDXC-Standard-Packaging-SDSQUNC-128G-GN6MA/dp/B010Q57S62), I'd recommend buying a higher capacity microsd now for the inevitability of needing one in the future.

As to the charger question, I personally bought a random usb-c cord and charger with it, and it works fine. I cannot attest to the quick charger, though.

u/sin-eater82 · 2 pointsr/Surface

Personally, I would not use a USB stick for always connected storage.

What sort of files are you storing on it? Are you really going to notice a difference in the 130 vs 78 read speeds (write speeds are a wash)? If you're regularly copying a lot of big files, it would be notably faster. But if you're playing music off of it, storing word files, pictures etc., it's probably not going to be noticeable at all. It will just be faster on paper and in tests that have no practical use.

I use one of these that I got for about $30-35: http://www.amazon.com/SanDisk-microSDXC-Standard-Packaging-SDSQUNC-128G-GN6MA/dp/B010Q57S62

For me, honestly, it's less about battery life, size, etc. I wouldn't even get to the point of considering that stuff. I just really don't think I'd notice much difference with faster read speeds for day to day use. So why spend money to just tie up my only USB port if I'm not going to see any real world difference?

u/i_noah_guy98 · 2 pointsr/NintendoSwitch

I edited my original comment to include the screen protectors, but I will repeat it here for your convenience:

I personally do not use screen protectors. Other people will recommend the amFilm Tempered Glass Screen Protector for the Switch (link from Amazon).

Also, I personally use this for my microSD card. It works well, haven't had an issue with it. Find a similar one that will fit your needs and go with that.

It's about the size of two full sized sim cards (or four, two stacked side by side to include thickness), and I could easily imagine losing 2 hours of battery life to fit it into a 6 inch phone.

There's also this..

It really depends on the size you need. Are you planning on going full digital, mostly physical, or in between? In my opinion, 128 GB is probably the best deal (usually around $40 on Amazon) because 256 GB are pretty expensive ($120+), so unless you're going all digital I wouldn't reccommend that.

In terms of brand, SanDisk and Samsung are both good in terms of quality. I use this microSD card and have had no issues:

I've been using this SanDisk 128GB card for the last year or so without any issues. My sister got me this Samsung 128GB card for Christmas last year as a backup card, and every time I try and use it I have nothing but problems. The camera (650S-2CH) continuously exclaims, "Check SD card," every five seconds after the first video tries to save.

I've been looking to upgrade to a 256GB card because since I drive 100+ miles per day and can only capture about a weeks' worth of footage. Is this the Samsung card you're talking about? I just don't want to get the wrong one.

How much space do you consider enough? 128GB micro SD cards aren't too expensive if your phone has a slot for them. Based on the very little research I did, it seems that is enough for ~50,000 minutes of 320 kbps. I know some phones say they only support up to 32GB or something, though.

Or is there another reason to get a dedicated device?

I have not opened it, and likely will not need to use it for a year. I have a 4 GB microSD to hold screenshots, which is about all I really need right now. I prefer buying physical games, so SD cards on the Switch for me are almost entirely for video recording potential, and indie games someday adding up.

Would the difference in speed between my card and the newer EVO select card be worth returning my card and waiting for a sale or out right buying the new card if I needed it?

Samsung EVO Select $39.99 128gb 80MB/s (Amazon says usually ships in 1-2 months???)

Sandisk Ultra $41.40 128gb 80MB/s (Amazon says in stock)

You can get a 128gb for $40, or a 64gb for $25, both are SanDisk.

u/Twilightsojourn · 1 pointr/NintendoSwitch

Hmm, so both the U number and the circle number are write speeds? Confusing, but good to know.

So on this card for example, the read speed isn't on the card, but digging through the description tells me 80 MB/s (if I'm understanding it correctly) -- that's the number I'm looking for to see if it'll actually play games well? And do you think that speed would work well for playing games on the Switch, or would it be advisable to try and find one a little higher?

It's funny -- I hadn't thought about it this way before, but as a photographer and video producer, I'm realizing that the specification numbers that were most important to me were the write speeds, since that was the bottleneck for capturing my footage at the highest quality possible. In this situation, I need the inverse, but it's a little tricky to find that info! Thanks again for all your guidance.

Amazon has the card for 30 bucks too. Stuff must be going on sale for the holidays. https://www.amazon.com/SanDisk-microSDXC-Standard-Packaging-SDSQUNC-128G-GN6MA/dp/B010Q57S62

This was down to $30 on Amazon a couple days ago. It’s still a pretty good deal at $45.

It might still be $30 at Best Buy, but you’ll probably have to set up for in-store pickup as they sold out of their online stock really fast.

A total of 7 separate orders. It was a bit annoying because I was mostly on my phone and the mobile apps/chrome wouldn't load properly. Also I would have preferred to bundle orders but oh well. or try to use more coupons but they only give you so many minutes in the cart and sometimes the next item that you're waiting for a deal to start is right outside that window.

And here's the link to the 2nd one, which has only corrupted once. After reformatting it, it seems to be fine. I currently have almost 10gb of "stuff" on it and no problems yet: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B010Q57S62/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_z4LLxbJZMA1N3

I bought 2 128 gb SD cards. They weigh nothing. Really, if I had started with 4 or 5, I wouldn't have needed to upload them - and I took a LOT of photos and videos. Most folks could easily get by with one. Even the more dedicated would be OK with 2.

You'll be a lot happier to not worry about the logistics and if that saves you from but one night in town, it'll be worth it.

Gotcha. Sounds like I need to be working with NTFS then. I have an iPhone, so compatibility with Android devices isn't an issue.

These are some of the cards I'm looking at. Which do you think is the best fit for my needs? (I'm in mobile... I hope these links work)

This one is quite a bit more expensive than the one above ($100 vs. $40). Is the extra performance worth the extra expense?

i have one of the New 3ds XLs

I don't play it close to death normally because i charge my stuff at night, but when its dying its 4 hours to around 8 depending on how intensive the game is

The reason why its not a big deal for me, is because of it being USB-C

While its not the standard right now it is quickly becoming the standard power plug for phones

If i decide to get one i would only need to grab the system, but in whatever case/bag they have for it and walk out my front door.

I already have everything to charge/power it in my car

Its not like its the 3DS where i had to buy a power cord with a usb, and i have to remember to take that specific cord with me

With how quickly companies are adopting USB-C, biggest examples being samsung and google, by this time next year almost everyone who would buy a Switch will own a phone with USB C,

Just a quick amazon search gives me

Male usb A to male USB C

128 Gig micro sd card

and because i would need to do more research a portable power bank runs from 20-40 on amazon

So for everything you would buy for "on the go" it costs around 88 bucks.

The power bank can work with anything, so around half of that 88 would be for something you could use for litteraly anything that charges with a male usb A

Which comparing to what i can see being the closest thing we have now (PS Vita) a 64 gig storage card runs above 100 on the gamestop website and higher than that on amazon

Why are you comparing stock HDDs for consoles versus maxed out microSDs? That's an unfair comparison. Either compare stock versus stock or max versus max.

Here's the Amazon HDD I found with 300MB/s

and Here's the microSD with 80/15MB/s read/write

> And I'm not just picking on Nintendo here. My xbox one lost two fifths of its space to the OS, Halo 5, and the MCC alone. Their 500GB HDD just isn't enough for their first party, AAA games.

Holy Shit yeah, but they are the outliers. Between Halo 1-4 (MCC), Halo 5 and Gears of War 4 (and the OS) I doubt you'd have any room on a 500 GB model, but XBone is it's own counterpoint... as I have some 50 games installed on mine (like all 360 BC games are 8 GB or less) on that same drive (and the space hogs on an external).

Now let's compare this with Wii U games that were all "constrained" by the optical drive's 25 GB capacity:

  • MK8 on Wii U was under 5 GB, or just about 6 GB with all DLC. I doubt MK8 Deluxe will be much larger.

  • Super Mario 3D World, Zelda: WW HD, NSMBU were all under 2 GB each.

  • Donkey Kong Country: Tropical Freeze was 11.5 GB....

  • Lego City Undercover was 22 GB.

  • Xenoblade Chronicles was ~ 24 GB.

Personally I'm Thrilled Nintendo didn't pop a 200 GB flash memory in there and jack up the cost for the system. The fact that I can upgrade via non-proprietary and inexpensive micro sdxc cards is a huge win. I personally plan on popping in a 128 GB card for $40 and despite it not being enough to have Halo 1-5 on an Xbox One I'm sure 150 GB of space for digital downloads will last a long long time for Nintendo.

I just got these for future use with the Switch, the wall charger should be beefy enough, has total 39 Watts.

Aukey USB Wall Charger

USB C Cable

I also got this right angle cable if your into that.

USB C right angle extension

This is the microSD card I'm getting.

SanDisk 128 GB microSD

Also I like the Switch backpack.

Zelda alone will take up about half the available space on your system if you get a digital copy. To avoid this, make sure you get a heafty SDXC card (the 128GB Samsung Evo Select and the 128GB SanDisk Ultra are good choices). With one of those, everything but the save data will be written to the card, saving you from worrying about running out of room.

Would have been even more astonishing with a micro SD card.

That USB is pretty big compared to a micro SD.

128gb cards are 40$

40 dollars for 8 MEGABYTES of flash memory. Let's do some fun math.

128 gigs at the cost of 8 MB for 40 dollars would be...$640,000

Also the Micro SD card is about 1/20 of the size

How far we've come

Speaking of which, if you never want to think about storage space ever again: https://www.amazon.com/SanDisk-microSDXC-Standard-Packaging-SDSQUNC-128G-GN6MA/dp/B010Q57S62

Personally I go digital on multiplayer games, or the type of games that are good for quick sessions now and then. For those quick session games it means I'd play them even more since I wouldn't have to fumble with changing a cartridge.

u/bentonfraser · -1 pointsr/Bitcoin

A whole 10GB? The horror!

u/HiredMind · -2 pointsr/Dashcam

Not sure how well this works in a A119S because I don't own one, but I just bought this 128Gb micro SD card for about 1/2 that price/GB.
