No, but the Sennheiser GAME ONE does. It uses the 558/598 drivers.

Wall of text ahead. Please, read only if you are really interested...

What I usually recommend when someone ask for advice about gaming headsets is: Gaming headset are crap 99% of the time. They provide very poor sound quality, and any good headphone (literally, even 40$ ones) will sound far better than expensive 300$ headsets. The question is not if headphones are better than headset (the answer is “Hell, YEAH”). The question is, are they better for you?

What are you planning to use your headphones for? Just for gaming, or for gaming and music listening?

If the answer is “just for gaming”, then ask yourself if a Hifi headphone is what you need. Usually games don’t really need high quality headphones, since they provide low quality sound, and you will be more concentrated gaming than listening. In that scenario, everything will serve you, and gaming headsets have the advantage of the integrated microphone.

So, if you want something good for gaming, and just for gaming, with integrated microphone, then the only two headsets with good enough quality sound (aka don’t suck) are:

HyperX Cloud (70$)

Sennheiser G4me One (170$)

Both are good choices. Or go with any fancy RGB headset you find (Logitech, Razer, Corsair, Steelseries, etc), you will most probably don’t notice the difference while gaming.

BUT, if you plan to use them for music listening besides gaming, then keep reading.

Hifi headphones for gaming have the disadvantage of having to deal with the micro thing. None of them have microphone incorporated, and you must either use a desk microphone like this, use a modmic like this one. or if your budget is tight, something like this. The first one requires desk space. The second and third one are detachable micro, with an extra cable you’ll have to deal with. Any of them are a nuisance. Any solution is annoying. All of them are an extra expense that must be accounted. If micro is a must and you are not willing to bother with this solutions, please, go back to HyperX Cloud or G4me One.

Ok, so, you really want some damn good headphones, that also can be used for gaming! Keep reading, please (are you bored yet?).

You can choose Closed back headphones (the classic ones you have already used. Closed back models offer good isolation and do not leak sound. This is your choice when there are people around you, or you want isolation from noisy a environment.) or Open Back headphones (Open back models offer next to no isolation and will leak sound -and allow you to hear what happens around you-, but they are the best sounding models). Open headphones achieve the best sound, soundstage (feeling that sound is coming from around you) and imaging (ability to locate the origin of one sound).

If you are here because you want to get a replacement for a gaming headset, I would recommend you Open back, but since they don’t isolate, you must choose. If isolation is required, get closed back, if that’s not a concern, go open.

Some closed back cans:

Audio-Technica ATH-M40x. 100$. Balanced headphones, very good feedback from lots of people. Typical entry level headphones to the rabbit hole.

Sennheiser HD 598Cs. 125$. Balanced, very very detailed, great instrumental separation. Comfortable as hell, Very recommended.

Beyerdynamic DT770. 160$. V-shaped signature (lots of bass and lots of treble). Great for explosions, movies, and rock. Treble can be harsh if you are sensible. Get the 32 ohm version, as the 80 (may) and 250 (do) need an amplifier to work properly.

Those are some examples of entry-mid level of closed cans. There are lots more, depending of your budget!

As for open cans:

Superlux HD668b. 40$. Those are THE CANS. The best quality for low budget you can get. Hands down. Great soundstage, Bass light. They are not too comfortable, but pads can be changed for a deluxe comfort (extra expense). You are not getting anything better at this price. For gaming in a budget, this are the headphones you were looking for,

Philips SHP9500. 80$. Mid-forward signature. Good soundstage, great comfort. Very detailed. Another amazing quality for the budget headphone.

Sennheiser HD 598 SR. 170$. Very similar to the HD 598Cs, but with open back. Wider soundstage, a little less bass. Very balanced headphones. Super-duper comfortable. Great for long gaming sessions.

Philips Fidelio X2. 250$. V-shaped signature. Those are in another league. Build quality is just.. OMG. Extreme soundstage and imaging. More comfortable than the HD 598. Bass is BOOOOOM!!!. A little pricey, and can be somewhat fatiguing to listen if you are treble sensible, due to high treble.

Well, that’s all. I have selected only headphones that don’t need an amplifier. Now is your turn to research, watch some Youtube videos, read some reviews, and give them a try.

All this headphones are GOOD. No trash here, and all them will make you open your eyes when listening your music if you are coming from standard headsets. You will notice sounds, instruments, that you never realized they were there, even if you had listened this song a thousand times before. Try them, and be amazed.

Welcome to the rabbit hole.

If you absolutely must have a gaming headset Sennheiser G4ME ONE. It uses the same drivers as the HD 558s, which is a good headset for the cash.

Otherwise, go with what jkangg recommended and get an audiophile headset /r/headphones and buy a modmic separately to attach to it.

u/rybl · 4 pointsr/xboxone

I've never used them myself, but the HyperX Clouds are very well regarded and retail for under $100.

If you want to spend a little more, the Sennheiser Game Ones are also fantastic for sub $200. I have a pair myself and I couldn't be happier with them.

I did a lot of research before buying the Game Ones and I believe that both of the headsets listed above are better regarded than any of Astro's offerings.

Edit: Just reread your post and noticed that you were looking specifically for wireless :/

I bought the Sennheiser Game One last week. They are pretty comfortable and not too big, have great sound and a good microphone. I have them in white so they are at least a bit more colorful than the standard black/red one. I've only used it on PC so far so I don't know if it works with Xbox out of the box but you get a separate cable with it, so I assume that's the cable used for consoles.

u/ttdpaco · 2 pointsr/headphones

Normally what Jesse said is the cheaper option, but these have gone down drastically: http://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B00GWU8FTK/ref=mp_s_a_1_2?qid=1420905449&sr=8-2&pi=AC_SY200_QL40&dpPl=1&dpID=41guGzIj-lL&ref=plSrch

These are basically a hd598 with a mic.

they are not gimicky gaming headsets however are great for gaming. great for music. comfortable and have great build quality. I like them so much i bought a second pair for when my first pair (that ive had for 2.5 years and are as good as new) go out.

r/headphones is a good place.

Sennheiser makes great headphones, all my friends that get the gaming one or zero difference is open vs closed. I personally prefer open gives me a better sound stage and lets my ears breath.

Personally I'm rolling a $1400 headphone system with dedicated DAC and AMP for my headphones. You can dump a shit ton of money into this stuff.

I'll be buying these headphones next.

I have a pair of Sennheiser HD598's I use for gaming with a modmic and I like them a lot. They are open back which is good because it creates a larger soundstage making it easier to locate sounds. The down side of an open design is that it doesn't provide much isolation allowing outside sounds in and your music to bleed out. They are great for music and are very comfortable. You can currently get the black version from Amazon for $169 (you have to choose the with mic option, but you can still use the modmic instead of the inline mic).

Sennheiser also makes a closed back version (the 598C) but I haven't tried it personally. I think the open back design is ideal for gaming as long as you aren't worried about background noise and don't plan to use them on the subway or at work. If you prefer a headset with an integrated mic you could check out their Game One as it is supposed to sound almost as good as the 598 but has an integrated mic. The white one is $159 on Amazon right now so you'd save some money, however if you get the modmic you'll be able to use it with any future headphones you might purchase.

u/spbach5 · 2 pointsr/headphones

If you want isolation, this. If you don't care, this would sound better and be better for gaming. You might want the one meant for isolation as the joints look to be made of metal rather than plastic.

u/LifelongCaboose · 2 pointsr/Gaming_Headsets

The Zeros are a closed back design and come with a case and cost more. The Game Ones are way better because of the open back design but if you game in a loud environment you will be able to hear it all through the headset and people around you can some what hear what your listening too. Open Back offers better sound stage for the best audio positioning but have no sound isolation. I never buy headsets used for many reasons. For some reason the White game ones are usually cheaper and if you order from Amazon just make sure it's shipped and sold by Amazon and not a third party company. Also they should fit fine over your glasses. Since it's a headset designed for PC it uses a 3.5mm mic and 3.5mm audio jacks. So for the Xbox One and laptops you will need an adapter Sennheiser sells one I will link it. Also for Xbox one I would waste your money on one of the Adapters just go for a new Xbox One controller that has a 3.5mm combo Jack.

Game One White

Game Zero Black

Sennheiser Adapter

As for issues with them on Xbox One in my testing I didn't encounter any. Besides the fact they can't be turned up to extremely loud volumes because of there semi high impedance(for a headset). Your MacBooks on board audio should be fine. When you build a PC don't cheap out and get a cheap Motherboard because the On board audio on cheaper boards may not be able to run the this headset well.

u/Crimtide · 2 pointsr/pcmasterrace

No.. Sennheiser is amazing... the mic on a sennheiser is as close to a standalone mic that you can get. People have reviews on them on youtube but I'm not sure how they pick who to review these things.. but they need to learn to turn their input volume down, and stop placing the mic directly in front of their mouth. If you got money for Sennheisers, get Sennheisers. period. Sennheiser Game ONE .. IMHO Sennheiser makes the ONLY "gaming" headsets, where you actually get what you pay for.. Quality build, outstanding comfort, quality audio, quality mic, and best of all superior customer service.

u/BC_Hawke · 2 pointsr/PUBATTLEGROUNDS

You can also do your own manual setup. I have the Sennheiser Game One headset and used a $7 USB sound card as a second output and a cheap mixer to adjust volume levels. It's not wireless, but as mentioned above there's some good wireless setups that offer separate volume control.

u/shord143 · 2 pointsr/xboxone

I would say probably the best all around is the Astro A40 (without the MixAmp). They're a little bit out of your price range, but they're semi-open, so directional sound is a little better (and you can hear yourself talk which is nice).

If you want a really nice set...go find a set of nice open cans, a modmic 4.0, and a y-connector (or something like the Sennheiser G4ME One). It's a hassle but totally worth it if you're a sound junkie

u/CREAMY-JUICE-HOLE · 2 pointsr/canada

i dont remember. I got them a year or so ago. Maybe 1200-1500 points? the headphones i got were these: https://www.amazon.ca/Sennheiser-Acoustic-Gaming-Headset-White/dp/B00GWU8FTK and they were probably about 300 when i first got them.

u/Integrals · 2 pointsr/Overwatch

Any Sennheiser headset.

They are pricey but it will be the last headset you ever own. 3 year warranty backed by some of the BEST customer service I've ever experienced.

I called after my earpiece died after 2+ years (I abuse the shit out of them). They sent me a new pair, I didn't even have to send the old ones back.

I recommend these:
http://www.amazon.com/Sennheiser-GAME-ONE-Gaming-Headset/dp/B00GWU8FTK

Also, don't fall for the 7.1 gimmicky bullshit. It just adds weight to the headset.

I also recommend an "Open Back" headset. They won't be as noise cancelling but they will feel SO much cooler and they will have a better overall sound.

u/NinjaN-SWE · 1 pointr/GlobalOffensive

Nah, this is over a period of 5 years with the latest one breaking this year (and I told the guy to not buy SSv2 because of the bad quality...). They have issues, as for your theory on complaint vs. praise check out the amazon pages for the competition: http://www.amazon.com/Sennheiser-G4ME-ONE-Gaming-Headset/product-reviews/B00GWU8FTK/ref=cm_cr_dp_qt_hist_two?ie=UTF8&filterBy=addTwoStar&showViewpoints=0 <- no breaking complaint what so ever. http://www.amazon.com/Sennheiser-360-Headset-Pro-Gaming/product-reviews/B003DA4D2U/ref=cm_cr_pr_hist_3?ie=UTF8&filterBy=addThreeStar&showViewpoints=0&sortBy=bySubmissionDateDescending <- About 5-10% complaints, substantially lower than SSv2 http://www.amazon.com/Logitech-Surround-Gaming-Headset-Technology/product-reviews/B00CQ35C1Q/ref=cm_cr_pr_hist_1?ie=UTF8&filterBy=addOneStar&showViewpoints=0&sortBy=bySubmissionDateDescending <- around 5% breaking, most of poor Reviews seems to be about it being ill-fitting and the mic taking up too much (which isn't caused by the mic being faulty).

I'd say that the SSv2 are a bit below average when it comes to durability.

u/maltawind · 1 pointr/headphones

Could maybe check out some reviews over on "head-fi" like these ones.

And if you're worried about getting ripped off price-wise, after adjusting for the exchange rate they're selling in the U. S. for just a little less than that $249 price.

For better sound quality I might recommend the cheaper ATH-AD700X or if you don't want to leak sound the closed-back ATH-A700X. Wide soundstage plus nice clarity/detail so you can hear gunshots/footsteps, etc.

Add a separate boom mic you can attach to the headphones.

u/Crow_Morollan · 1 pointr/buildapc

You'll find the cheaper headsets compensate by squeezing your head instead of forming appropriately to it. This is even more common in the full ear headsets, who have to be able to withstand you moving about.

The point being, it's not the rubbery ears that's giving you headaches, it's the build quality. I know what you're thinking, Bose have fantastic drivers for sound, but ergonomically they fall flat on their face.

*****
Few Options

  • Sennheiser HD380's (Rubbery Ears, No Mic) - Far and away the best quality you can buy for your buck. You'll notice they are sloped, which fit more naturally with how your ears are anatomically attached to your head. 3.5mm with a 1/4" adapter. My personal favorites. Amazon 99$ - 50% Off

  • Sennheiser PC141 (Behind the Head, Mic) - Great headset for an entry level price range. You won't hear the CT's jumping up and down while switching weapons from around the corner, but it'll get the job done. Amazon 35$ - 30% Off

  • Sennheiser G4ME ONE (Cloth Ears, Mic) - Slanted styling for anatomically correct fit, just like the HD380's. You should be noticing a brand trend by now. Also the ear foam is a cloth covering, not rubber. This reduces sweating, makes them more breathable, and also doesn't give you that sealed pressure chamber affect. This helps reduce headaches, and improves long time wear. Amazon 195$ - 30% Off White or Black

    *****

Hopefully this gives you a few options. I would again really emphasize that when it comes to headphones and people with sensitive facial zones/heads (I'm in this group), Sennheiser and other quality companies cannot be beat.
u/MetallicDragon · 1 pointr/Gaming4Gamers

I have a pair of Sennheiser G4me One. Most people recommend just getting a good pair of regular headphones and an attachable mic, but I was tired of having two wires getting tangled everywhere and wanted a full headset. I'm not an audiophile but I can tell the difference between shitty and good headphone sound, and these sound good. They're also comfortable, well-built, have a really nice volume knob and also just look sexy as hell. I recommend them if you don't mind splurging a bit.

u/rudenewb · 1 pointr/xboxone

I highly recommend Sennheiser headphones. The Game One's are at the upper end of your budget, but are worth every penny - http://www.amazon.com/dp/B00GWU8FTK/ref=psdc_3015405011_t2_B00GWU8FAE

u/Brainectomist · 1 pointr/gaming

Don't do it. Get these Sennheisers instead. Better build quality and sound and better mic. Probably not worth $300, but I'd get em for $140. Or look at the Hyper X Cloud for $80 or Hyper X Cloud II's for a little more.. Linus Tech Tips gave really good reviews on them.

Edit: If you ask anyone serious about audio they'll tell you to get nice headphones and a separate mic. I got some Sennheiser 558's for about $100 and a Zalman clip-on mic for ~$8. It's a little more of a hassle dealing with 2 cords, but the sound quality and comfort is awesome. Couldn't be happier.

Edit 2: or just get the A40's. I don't know a whole lot about them, but have read that Sennheisers are superior for sound quality.

u/docHoliday17 · 1 pointr/xboxone

If you're looking to spend that much money, the Sennheiser Game One is the absolute best you'll find. I'd recommend not going wireless, but that's just the old school dude in me.

Also. Before I start getting attacked for not saying "Kingston HyperX Cloud /thread", where most people get that recommendation from is thewirecutter.com. Their vote for best where money is no object is the one I mention here.

u/IsaacM42 · 1 pointr/buildapc

Instead of spending that money on a subpar headset/mic combo, spend the same amount on this Sennheiser headset.

u/thefrencharmy · 1 pointr/buildapcsales

For people looking in category 3 and 4, but prefer the integrated cabling setup of a headset, what do you think of the Sennheiser G4ME ONE's?

How do they compare to the Cloud 1's? I've been told the G4ME ONE (rebranded PC-360's) is essentially a 558 with a mic

u/ph0rk · 1 pointr/headphones

Anyone looking for an open gaming headset would be well-served to look at this, though the G4ME ONE would be a better buy, if that comes available. (Oh, here it is: G4ME ONE )

This is essentially the PC350, where the G4ME ONE is essentially the PC360.

u/boywithhat · 1 pointr/headphones

Hello all! So I am in the market for a new headset and after a lot it looks like Sennheiser is the best option. I was hoping for some recommendations on which one to buy. The ones I'm looking at are the Game One, Game Zero (not really sure what the difference is), PC 350SE, and PC 363D. These are not set in stone however and I am open to suggestions.

Budget: I would like to keep it at $200 but am willing to go up to 250 if the improvement justifies it.

Source: I have an Asus G73 SW laptop. I'm not sure exactly what the sound card is but the specs are this:
EAX Advanced HD 5.0
THX TruStudio
I also have the turtle beach DSS2 thing that I can use.

Isolation:Nothing too much. Just want to be able to not hear and not be heard by my brother 10 ft away.

Prefered type: Over the ear

Tonal Balance: Don't really know, overall balanced I guess?

Past Headphones: Currently wearing Turtlebeach X12's. Tried the steelseries elite but after 4 different headsets breaking I gave up on them.

Prefered Music: Mix of everything really, nothing too out there. I usually play games like the total war series and Warthunder. Also I usually listen to history podcasts if that helps.

So what I do with this is it's connected to my router via Ethernet and then via RJ9 (regular phone cable) to a wireless phone base. I have three wireless handsets, just traditional phones. For the cost of $50 bucks for the hardware you basically have free VOIP via Google Voice for life.

u/Sacharias1 · 1 pointr/Rainbow6

Virtual 7.1 in headphones is more or less a scam, read more about it here.

The Cloud II is a great headset for the price, but if you live in the US then currently Amazon has the Sennheiser GAME ONE and the GAME ZERO for sale which have much better audio quality than the Cloud II's, alternatively if you have a microphone already then the Audio-Technica ATH-M50X are the same price point when they're on sale and offer a better audio quality.

u/VogtGado6999 · 1 pointr/xboxone

You really want the best... Sennheiser + Mixamp Pro. I have the PC 350's and they are AMAZING. Senheiser has refreshed versions called "Game One (open ear)", Game Zero (Closed ear).

Pro Tip - DO NOT use Astro's chat cable (total garbage), use Turtle Beaches.

I'd honestly recommend other keyboards, from Ducky, KUL, Filco, Varmilo, etc. over Logitech. While Logitech does have decent quality, they're overpriced. Judging from your response, you never had a Mechanical Keyboard before. Correct me if I'm wrong. In that case, you should definitely test out different switches before purchasing anything. Everyone has his own preferences.

For the headset you should be good with the Logitech G633 then. That one has decent sound quality, and a decent microphone as well. I personally don't like wireless peripherals at all, so that's why I'd personally decide against the Logitech G933.

Edit: By the way, the G4ME ONE in white is only $209.99. The Logitech G633 is $144.98. You should definitely check out reviews for both of them, and then decide.

My favorite of all headphones so far. The earcups are really comfy, the mic works very well, sound quality is great (open ear design - not noise-cancelling). Can mute microphone by turning it up (audible click when it's off/on). I hook these up to an Astro Pro Mixamp TR to the PS4 and they sound awesome.

On amazon the Game One's are about 150 dollars. The quality sounds good to me, but I've never had a soundboard or used a headphone with a separate mic combo, so I am not too sure about the difference there.

If you want an audiophile grade open back headphones you can get the phillips shp9500 with a vmoda boom pro(replaces the 3.5mm cable from the phillips with a 3.5mm cable with a mic attached to it that actually works really good ive personally have used the vmoda boom pro, and these also dont have much bass since they are open back but will give you a good soundstage and a more flat overall sound which is great)

I saw them lean forward a few times, I think the logo was from one of the Astro headsets (http://www.astrogaming.com).

If you're looking for a good headset, I recommend the Sennheiser G4ME One (http://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B00GWU8FTK) or the similar but older PC360.

The G4ME ONE is cheaper and open-backed.

Sennheiser GAME ONE Black $130 - back ordered 2-4 weeks

Sennheiser GAME ONE White $150

Kingston HyperX Cloud II - $98

Kingston HyperX Revolver - $108

Astro A40 - $150

Of those I'm partial to the Sennheiser GAME ONE's, and the Astro A40. I've used exclusively Sennheiser headphones for the last 7 years and have loved them. The GAME ONE's are open back though so you will get a little less bass but a more open sounding sound stage. The Sennheisers are also far better for music than anything from Kingston, Razer, Logitech, or SteelSeries. Also in my experience, Sennheiser headphones are always quite comfortable. The mic quality is also very good on the GAME ONE.

The Astro A40's are just really good all around. Good sound quality, good mic quality, good overall build quality. Very solid option around the $150 range.

If it were me buying it, I would go with the Sennheiser GAME ONE, my second choice would definitely be the Astro A40's though. The SteelSeries Siberia 350 hasn't been getting the best reviews from actual users. I don't put as much stock into professional reviews because they never account for longevity of the device and are based more on technical specs than actual real world use.

It really depends on what your priorities are though. If you're concerned more with the sound quality, the Sennheisers or Astro A40's are the way to go. If you're more interested in extra features, some of the other brands like Corsair, Logitech, and SteelSeries will have some other features (like RGB lighting for example).

Yes fuck you, you're in your own home why do you care so much? I have the Sennheiser Game Ones and they are one of the most comfortable headsets I've ever had, I even use them for music when I'm chilling at home.
