Do you think they are worth upgrading from Sennheiser HD 4.50?

Do you use them with a bunch of different devices & are they good at figuring out which one you actually want to hear? (sony is TERRIBLE at this)

Not sure of your budget, but as far as headphones go i use these personally- Gets me past the tablers without any issues, lol.

>I think the problem problem is that I blast my music too loud.

Right, so invest in some nice noise-cancelling headphones. You won't have to turn the volume up as much and it'll mitigate outside noise.

Sennheiser makes great, affordable headphones: https://www.amazon.com/Sennheiser-HD-4-50-Headphones-Cancellation/dp/B01MSZSL4I/ref=sr_1_3?ie=UTF8&qid=1526923694&sr=8-3&keywords=sennheiser+noise+cancelling+headphones

I'm wondering about the sound quality difference of the Sennheiser HD598s (link) compared to the HD 4.50 BTNC (link).

The bluetooth and noise cancelling is not very important to me, but if the difference in sound quality is minimal, I would happily pay the extra money for the features. I will mainly use the headphones to listen to music (Orchestral, Choral, Punk Rock, Pop, others), light gaming, and watching videos.

These phones are meant to be my "guilty pleasure" cans away from my studio monitors which are relatively flat in frequency response. My assumption is that all the extra features of the 4.50s, at such a small increase to price, means relatively large sacrifices are being made in the audio side of things.

The Sennheiser HD 4.50 is wireless and has noise cancelling and is only $199. I have the HD 4.40 (no noise cancelling) and love it!

Get noise cancelling headphones (https://www.amazon.ca/Sennheiser-HD-4-50-Bluetooth-Cancellation/dp/B01MSZSL4I are $150 right now on Amazon. Amazon usually has the Bose headphones at a big discount on Black Friday). I cannot emphasize how much they get rid of ambient noise around you, including the constant drone of the engines and cabin air.

Bring a warm blanket and some sort of pillow/cushion/neck pillow (not the inflatable kind, one with some sort of filling). Bring a sleep mask/blindfold/eye cover.

If possible, pay the extra for premium economy so you have a slightly more roomy experience. Even better, get someone to spring for business class with a lie flat bed (this is the real answer). Check in 24 hours before the flight and select a row with the least amount of people in it that isn't also terrible (use seatguru.com to check your seats as you select them). If you are lucky you'll end up with a few seats empty around you that you can stretch out in. Then check in again within an hour or so of the flight and check the seats again in case your row has filled and another one is more empty.

Have a glass of wine or two and plenty of water (otherwise you will get massively dehydrated). Like a litre or more of water.

If you are lucky, you'll get about 6-7 hours of not terrible sleep in economy. If you are business class with the lie flat bed you'll get a solid 8 or more.

I would hate taking a pill, because you end up feeling stretched and pulled instead of rested, which will be awful for that next leg, but YMMV.

Good luck with your flights. I hope you are staying for a while so you have time to recover before heading back.

The CH700N's offer fantastic sound quality and comfort. Sadly there's no case included and the noise cancelling is a step below the Bose and more expensive Sony's but they're a fabulous middle ground. I bet they go on sale at Amazon and Best Buy within a week or two for $149-$169. I'm waiting for this to buy a pair for a friend for Xmas I like mine that much.

Edit: if you can't wait these are both on sale and are great deals, I just prefer the fit/comfort of the CH700N's. Also buy from Amazon if possible, you can't return headphones to BB.

Since other people have already answered your question about where to buy your headphones, I thought I’d chime in with a recommendation.

I came to UoM with a new MacBook and pair of Beats headphones. The Beats lasted about two years and were literally falling apart by the end of it (probably my fault though). I just replaced them a few weeks ago with these. They’re a bit cheaper than the Beats that I had but have better sound quality, fit over my ear (you may or may not want that), and have white-noise-cancellation. They’re both BlueTooth and have a removable cord, just like my pair of Beats did. If you want Beats, power to you. Just thought I’d throw out a recommendation :)

I bought these for my wife as a wedding present and she loves them. She won't fly or go to the theater without them.

Beats by dre are the lowest quality "premium" headphones in terms of build and performance. You can buy Senheiser makes similar over the head style that are wireless. Beats By Dre always ranks at the bottom, when compared to other makers that make similar head phones. The options below are example of Solo 3's similar headphones. As far as good gym headphones, I'd say no... Any over the ear/cupped ear type headphones will trap moisture, and get stinky.

  • Option 1
  • Option 2

  • If you're hell bent on Beats By Dre, enjoy buying the a Kia priced as a Mercedes, when you could have bought a Mercedes for the same price.

ma gandeam la astea, sau bose daca au o reducere mai considerabila.

u/QuipA · 1 pointr/headphones

sure you can replace the pads, but only if you get a premium wireless ANC headphone that will cost more than $300 and you almost pay $40 per set of cushions.

The pads on the MDR1000X are replaceable, but sony makes it not easy

and cheaper models will have the pads glued onto the housing, replacing them would immediately void the warranty.

If you are still up for a BT-ANC model sub $200, go for the Sennheiser BTNC 4.50

What about these? https://www.amazon.com/Sennheiser-HD-4-50-Headphones-Cancellation/dp/B01MSZSL4I?th=1

Would these be better than the new Audio Technica m50xBT or are they worse?

u/ohglobbit · 1 pointr/CasualUK

Oh they come in all prices these days. I have these for my commute and I love them. Also good at work as I can use them for calls and still charge my work phone (iphone). But they are pricey, and bulky for travelling with.

u/arscurrendi · 1 pointr/VideoEditing

Depends what you mean when you say 'budget'. If you're looking for noise cancelling headphones that aren't $350, I recommend Sennheiser HD 4.50 BTNC. They're wireless, noise cancelling, Bluetooth connectivity and the battery life is amazing.

u/Chew-Magna · 1 pointr/aspergers

Sadly active noise cancelling headphones aren't cheap. Other's may muffle sound, but if you want true noise cancelling, it needs to be active.

Here are some I came up with after a quick search (I'd stay away from Bose on principle, they're a pretty crappy company and make subpar products).

AKG N60, Sennheiser HD 4.50 BTNC, Plantronics Backbeat Pro 2.

u/WildPlants420 · 1 pointr/bodybuilding

Just picked up these about a month ago. They have pretty good sound quality and keep a good grip on my head so they don’t fall off easily. Battery life is pretty good, I use at gym and all day at work and never have them die on me

Skullcandy is definitely not a brand I'd go with. In my experience they're cheaply made and overpriced. I haven't tried this particular set, so YMMV.

Here are some good headphones for a similar price: (my preference would be the Sennheisers as I have personal experience with them and can vouch for their quality)

Sony XB950B1, Blue https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01N6WIDAI/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_i_EV11Bb4JAKFQ5

Budget - $150-$250

Source - Desktop PC

Requirements for Isolation - Some to a lot

Will you be using these Headphones in Public? - No

Preferred Type of Headphone - Full-sized

Preferred tonal balance - Basshead, but I don't mind an overall balance

Past headphones - I have been using the Logitech G930 since 2012

Preferred Music - Drum and bass/electronic, punk rock

What would you like to improve on from your set-up - I have had to replace my G930 twice since I bought it five years ago (both were through my warranty) and while I have enjoyed it, I feel like I could get another headset of much superior quality, both in build and audio quality, with the $150-250 budget mentioned above. I would prefer to stick with a wireless headset while knowing that there will be some sacrifice in sound quality.

I'm currently thinking of going with either the Sennheiser 4.40s or the Sennheiser 4.50s but I'm also curious if anybody thinks there is a better option based on the above information. Thanks in advance for any help/input!
