Emotiva will save you lots of money. Whether you get their Fusion receiver or go with separates (UMC-200 and UPA-700) it will cost less than that receiver and run circles around it in regards to performance. I believe they also sell in-ceiling/in-wall speakers, although I would recommend non in-wall/ceiling speakers.
For $2141.00 you could have a complete 7 channel system. For non wall/ceiling speakers, they sell some powered monitors and a full system would cost $3791. You just need to add a couple of subwoofers (2 is always recommended for balanced bass distribution). SVS is known for incredible performance at a low price so I'm assuming you wouldn't want a giant box, their cylinder subs would look and sound great. A pair of PC12-NSD would run you about $1300. That leaves about $1600 for the TV to meet your $5K budget if you go with the in-wall/ceiling speakers. This 70 inch TV from Sharp seems like a good deal and is well reviewed.
Thanks for the suggestion. I am trying to stay under $1,500 as I expect to move the TV to another room after a few years and upgrade to a 4k. I have heard good things about this model:
Sharp LC-70LE650U: http://amzn.com/B00BG5M94S
But have also seen the A3 model Vizio for $1,300.
I was hoping to see what the new B3 Vizio model looks like before making a decision. I am in no rush, so I can wait for some year end deals. Since I also want to use the TV for some gaming, I guess I need to factor in lag time for any model I am looking at.
I definatley recomend this 70" Sharp led: Amazon
These mounts would do but with your extra budget room I would get a fully articulating mount (they are more user friendly in the long run): Amazon
