Well yeah, upgrading basically everything but that's semantics. Current receiver won't do 60hz 4k. Speakers are really old JBLs I bought used on craigslist and I don't even know the model/age but they're literally falling apart/torn. Basically everything needs to be replaced except the subwoofer as I have a Dayton Audio SUB-1200 12" that's in good shape but not sure if I would still save money buying a whole set that includes a sub rather than piecemeal so looking for advice in this area.

Room is about 16' by 12' with the TV and couch on the long walls. Budget for audio is around $1000. I'd like to do atmos and was looking at this Sony (https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07L53CG4X/?coliid=I1DC9DZP6ANCK7&colid=3SLBV4N9746GI&psc=1&ref_=lv_ov_lig_dp_it) but with the receiver it's really pushing the budget
